After Si Chen had left, Tong Yao, on the surface, looked as unaffected as ever, but in reality, she fell into a funk for several days. That was until the day when trouble arose at the shop, which snapped her back to reality.
The trouble started when a pair of social youth came in for Bubble Tea, and got Deng Wenwen to make it for them. Who would’ve thought that the young pair would purposely harass Wenwen with their words? Being in the service industry, Wenwen bit her tongue and ignored the two.
Just when she thought they would leave after getting their Bubble Tea, she found that these guys thought they could take advantage of the situation since only Wenwen was in the shop. Baldly, they grabbed hold of Wenwen’s hand, intending to harass her further.
Gu Hongwei, who was entering the shop to work, saw the whole thing. He got into an argument with the pair, which quickly escalated into a scuffle.
Seeing the two bullies jeering at Hongwei alone, Wenwen acted in impulse. She splashed boiling water on one of them. Things spiraled out of control and ended up at the Police Station.
When Tong Yao arrived at the shop, Gu Hongwei had already been taken away by the police, and the guy with the burns had also been taken away for treatment. Only Wenwen was left in the shop, crying.
Normally, Wenwen is quite bold and energetic, but she had never harmed anyone before. The burnt guy’s back had a patch of skin burnt off, it looked quite serious. Fearing that Wenwen would be scared, Hongwei voluntarily went along with the police.

It wasn’t Gu Hongwei’s and Deng Wenwen’s fault in this incident, they are staff of the shop. If anything were to happen, as their boss, Tong Yao would definitely step in.
Luckily for her, she’d brought her bicycle out today, which made it convenient for her to travel back and forth.
The police brought along Tong Yao and Gu Hongwei to the hospital. When they arrived at the hospital, the officer said, "You two go up first, they’re in Ward 203. I need to use the restroom, I’ll be back later."
The youth who got burned was now lying on the hospital bed, screaming in pain. Seeing Gu Hongwei enter, he jumped in fright.
This fellow looked quite refined, but was surprisingly tough in a fight. The two of them did not gain an advantage over him. Worse still, his back got burnt. It hurt like hell.
Thinking the two came to cause more trouble, the young man warned, "Let me warn you! I’ve already called the police. If you dare to insult me again, you are going to jail."

Seeing the two of them afraid of causing more trouble, Tong Yao couldn’t help but laugh. The two appeared to be about seventeen or eighteen - they had just entered society and had not yet grown guts. It seemed things could be worked out easily.
With a smile suppressed, Tong Yao pretended to be stern, "I’m their boss. What’s your plan to resolve the trouble you caused in my shop; harassing and assaulting my staff."
The two young men looked at each other, the younger one spoke up, "Of course we’ll need to compensate for the medical fees."
"Also compensation for convalescence, I got burnt and can’t work, you need to compensate for that too." The injured young man added.
Tong Yao pulled Gu Hongwei towards her, "How about the wounds he got from the fight?"
"He just got a bruise on his face, no need for medication or hospitalization. I have a whole patch of skin burnt off!" The injured youth complained with gritted teeth.

Gu Hongwei looked at Tong Yao with admiration. He knew Tong Yao was good at arguing, but he didn’t expect her to be this good. She handled matters calmly and intelligently, which was not befitting of her age.
A bit later, when the police arrived, they quickly expressed their intention to reconcile. The police never expected this matter to be resolved so effortlessly. Immediately, they had both parties sign the agreement and went back to the station.
The medical fees weren’t expensive, amounting to just over five yuan. Seeing that they weren’t bad at heart, Tong Yao gave them twenty yuan.
Though the young man had a burn patch on his back and the medical fees weren’t expensive, his pain was very real. Giving them a bit more money to buy more food seemed justified. Both looked very thin as if they hardly had enough to eat.
Twenty yuan was not much for Tong Yao, but for others, it was a considerable sum.
She didn’t expect Tong Yao to be this generous. Seeing the passionate look the two youths were giving Tong Yao - almost like she was their mother - Tong Yao started to get a guilty conscience.
When they left the hospital, Gu Hongwei said apologetically, "I’m sorry for causing trouble. The amount should be deducted from my salary!"
Tong Yao smiled and replied, "Why would I deduct your salary? You got hurt at work. I still need to give you some extra money for health supplements. If protecting their female colleagues would get their pay docked, who would dare to stand up and help in future? We should encourage such behavior, so more people would bravely stand up and extend their hands to uphold justice,"
