Chapter 863: Chapter 869: Brewing
As time passed, more and more fifth-order giant beasts arrived at the Deep Sea Palace, and none of them transformed into human form; they all entered in their true bodies.
Yet, the palace, which seemed too small to accommodate even one giant beast, now housed dozens!
The reason lay in the Space Crystal Jade used in the palace, an extremely precious spatial Spiritual Object. The grand palace, carved from the crystal jade, appeared to be only a few dozen yards in size, but it actually contained a vast space inside.
Not to mention dozens of giant beasts, even if twice or thrice as many came, the palace could accommodate them without feeling the slightest bit crowded.
From this single palace alone, one could see the depth of the Sea Clan’s heritage and wealth.
Although many of these giant beasts had not seen each other for many years, there was no sense of joyous reunion. Instead, conflicts abounded, and the sound of arguing and cursing could be heard from time to time.
Indeed, if not for the setting, they might have broken out into a massive brawl right there.
This situation was not only common within the Sea Clan but also within the Devil Race, both of which harbored countless internal contradictions.
This was different from the human race.
Humans formed a homogenous race centered around human beings, but the Devil Race and Sea Clan were not; they were conglomerates of various races.
A Devil! Originally, the concept referred to creatures born from the union of Yin and Yang.
This immensely broad concept encompassed most creatures; the modern Sea Clan was actually a part of the Devil Race, and even humans were too.
However, humans later "broke away," establishing themselves independently, though the Sea Clan still maintained a lingering connection with the Devil Race.
Speaking of which!
Thus, conflict among these Great Devils was a very common occurrence and didn’t need to be stopped.
It wasn’t until a fifth-order peak Flood Dragon appeared that the scene quieted down.
Despite the irreconcilable differences among the different races, why could they still gather under the flag of the Sea Clan?
One reason was to band together for warmth to resist the Cultivators, and the second was that they were overshadowed by a more powerful race, which made splitting up impossible.
And this race was the strongest among the Sea Clan—the Flood Dragon Tribe!
"Why have we been suddenly summoned back?" a Great Devil asked the Flood Dragon.
The other giant beasts also looked over, curious.
"The contract we signed with the human race is about to expire," the Flood Dragon said solemnly.
The contract between the human race and the Sea Clan wasn’t meant to be everlasting because, although the Sea Clan had lost, they still retained great strength and naturally wouldn’t agree to a permanent concession of the coastal waters; it was a term of five thousand years.
"When the contract expires and the restrictions are lifted, we can enter the coastal waters and must reclaim the coastal areas!"
The Flood Dragon, like a drawn sword, boldly declared, "And extend our rule over the land’s water systems!"
At the height of the Sea Clan’s power, any place with water was considered their territory. Clearly, this Flood Dragon sought to restore its ancestors’ boundless glory.
However, the giant beasts inside the palace didn’t show much enthusiasm for this.
Because the vast Boundless Sea was sufficient for them to live well, and the present coastal waters were no longer the resource-rich, Spiritual Energy-dense waters of the past; even if reclaimed, they wouldn’t move there.
As for the so-called land water systems, that was history from many years ago. Not to mention the newer generations of Sea Devils didn’t know about it, even those two or three generations before might not remember it.
The so-called glory of ancestors was not that of the Sea Clan, but of the Dragon Tribe! 𝔫𝔬𝖛𝖕𝔲𝖇.𝖈𝖔𝖒
The giant beasts naturally didn’t have much motivation.
The Dragon Tribe, foreseeing this, therefore offered generous rewards to entice the various races to take action.
The Dragon Tribe had made up their minds to reclaim the coastal areas and end this disgrace that had lasted for thousands of years.
Flowers bloom on two branches, each bearing one.
As the Sea Clan of the Boundless Sea prepared for the great war a few years later, on a towering mountain in the central region, Spirit Lights flew out, delivering messages to each Transforming Spirit force.
The first reaction of many Transforming Spirit forces upon receiving the news was astonishment that the contract had a term limit, followed by warnings to various forces about the impending expiration of the contract and the Sea Clan’s brewing threat, urging them to prepare.
Faced with the powerful Sea Clan, the Cultivators of the Eastern, Southern, and Northern Domains simply could not resist their invasion; the Central Domain’s Cultivators would have to be relied upon.
The Western Domain was the territory of Demon Cultivators, so the Cultivators need not worry about it, and for Demon Cultivators, a great war was not a disaster but a great opportunity.
Because the war would cause numerous casualties, and those corpses and blood were considered prime Spiritual Objects by the Demon Cultivators.
In light of this, various forces came together to discuss how to counter the Sea Clan’s invasion.
Although the coastal region was rather barren, it was still human territory and also served as a defensive line to prevent the Sea Clan from the Distant Sea from striking the mainland.
"Due to environmental factors, the Southern Domain has many Fire Method Cultivators, who are restrained by the Water Devils, so we need to send more Cultivators there."
"As everyone knows, the overall strength of the Eastern Domain is the weakest, and it has the longest coastline adjacent to the Boundless Sea, necessitating a large number of Cultivators, especially Nascent Soul Cultivators, to provide assistance."
The Northern Domain also had its reasons for needing substantial support.
However, there were only so many Nascent Soul Cultivators, and some had to be kept to guard the Central Domain and their own sects to prevent Demon Cultivators from taking advantage of any vulnerabilities. Choices definitely had to be made.
After fierce arguing, it was decided to reduce the number of Cultivators sent to the Northern Domain.
The Northern Domain was a snow-covered wasteland, seldom visited by humans, with most Cultivators concentrated in the southern part; losing the northern parts to the Sea Clan wouldn’t matter.
Since it was an eternally frozen world of ice and snow, the extremely cold weather prevented most creatures from residing there, Water Devils included.
In the competition between the Southern Domain and the Eastern Domain, the Eastern Domain, being the weakest, came out on top and would receive the most aid.
Sometimes, being less powerful wasn’t such a bad thing.
This was the case for the Eastern Domain, which, because of its weakness, received the most support.
With the broader strategy settled, but many details still to be discussed, representatives from various families engaged in another round of fierce disputes, eventually reaching a grudging agreement.

Meanwhile.
The Cultivators of the Li family on Wanxian Island were still unaware that danger was brewing, as per usual.
However, there were some signs, the most obvious of which was the sudden appearance of many Water Devils near Wanxian Island, which had previously been cleared.
And slightly farther out at sea, both the number and strength of the Water Devils had significantly increased.
But these small changes didn’t catch the attention of the Li family, who merely thought that a beast tide was about to erupt.
For the Li family of today, a beast tide posed no threat at all and was naturally not taken to heart.
