Like this, Nepheline and Shade shared various things about the outside world to the couple and their child, from the various continents, the countries, the current political strife between these countries, the problems with the Demon Continent and the battles going on in here, and more.
They also talked about the Demon King and such things these people had no idea about at all, they either always lived isolated lives underwater and never interacted with what was happening outside or existed in a time before the demon king appeared.
Shade and Nepheline were well aware that the World of Terrarium already hosted life on its own even before the Gods appeared. Beings such as the Spirit King and Queen, the Dragon King, and Yggdrasil, existed even before the Demon King appeared to defend the planet.
They, and several other lifeforms of this planet were their original inhabitants and had continued existing even after the Gods invasion and terraforming. Although there are no records of how Terrarium was in the past, it is speculated that it was much different than it is now.
For example, plants didn't exist as everyone knew that, even less animals and creatures, most monsters wouldn't exist either, and it was a much barren land, although with its own exotic flora and fauna, perhaps much different biologically than anything the people of the present can see and interact with.
Various researchers whom Shade knew or was friends with had told him that the closest area in the world to how the World of Terrarium used to be before the Gods terraformed it could be the Demon King Continent, the only area the Gods were unable to terraform or invade, and also a huge continent born from the corpse of the First Demon King.
The Demons that people know of, which are divided into many tribes weren't also born until the Gods arrived, the first Demon King fought them (which, it is speculated he also fought with the help of the Dragons the Spirits), and then quickly drove them away after many thousands of years of intervention in the planet.
When the Gods were drove back into the stars, where they located themselves above the planet's surface watching everything through their immense Astral Ark, the world had already changed into their image, and their tribes, created from their own genes, were already spread worldwide.
Humans, Elves, Dwarves, Anima, and to a lesser extent, Slimes, had already become the primary inhabitants of the planet, populating every continent except the only one where they were unable to reach.
The Demon King Continent.
This Continent continued growing out of the monstrous being's corpse, becoming hardened and then, creating its own flora and fauna, which experts believed to be the same that the Gods annihilated for their own terraforming process to continue.
And from this continent was where they appeared, the "Demons" as the Gods dubbed them, living beings born from the Bones, Flesh, Blood, and the Crystalized Soul of the Demon King.
They took upon countless shapes, forms, and sizes, and had many supernatural powers that made them generally stronger than the average human, elf, or dwarf.
While the Dragons went to live in the Demon King Continent, the Spirits remained within their original continent, unable to move away from where their Mother Yggdrasil was, who had changed after the terraforming, as she was assimilated by the green plants that the Gods brought along, her form and shape becoming that of a gigantic tree, instead of her original shape, which ancient spirits described to be "a giant black spiral made of hard bone with thirty red eyes and countless bony spurs resembling branches, where blue fruits popped from them".
Perhaps this could even explain why the Spirits had created a truce with the Gods, after they saw their Mother assimilate the new nature and change, most spirits also changed in one way or another. The flora and fauna of both worlds mixed, creating what is seen and known in the present.
Or well, that was one of the most popular theories, not even the oldest researchers alive knew very well these things, and the ancient spirits that gave them information were often cryptic about it or had bad memory themselves.
Another theory was that spirits from both the world of the gods and Terrarium intermixed, and that before, the Spirits of the Elements were fewer than they are now.
Although they had initial differences, it is thought that Spirits from the World of the Gods and Terrarium were still similar beings, meaning that Spirits might be entities that live across many planets in the universe, being similar in composition.
All these things were discussed with the couple, who also explained their own perspective, they also were a race of people that contracted spirits, and if they came from such ancient times, it made sense they had such power.
Another thing was that "Magic" already existed within the world of Terrarium, the same Magic that the Gods and their lesser creations wielded.
Perhaps the very reason the Gods became so inclined at invading this planet was because of its many qualities and resources, especially that it contained Spirits, Dragons, and Magic within its foundations.
"The Spirits we commute with come to us naturally, our shells grow stronger as we grow older, the minerals within them possess spirit energy and mana in great quantities," Elmephie explained.
"They inhabit our shells, and through this cohabitation, we benefit one another. Spirits help us regulate our great energies, and as a result, we also can remain young for much longer." Submarinus said.
"So that's how your species can live so long?" Nepheline wondered.
"How fascinating… even for me." Shade nodded.
"Well, to us it is more fascinating all the things you talked about! The world outside… it seems so interesting, yet so dangerous." Submarinus said. 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝖕𝖚𝖇.𝖈𝔬𝔪
"I don't really know what to think about it, but I am indeed surprised and amazed about these tales you've told us about…" Elmephie said. "I also find them very interesting."
"We've heard our city is protected by a powerful guardian made of divine metal," Said Submarinus. "Could you have met him?"
"Guardian, huh?" Nepheline wondered, rubbing her chin. "Ah…"
She quickly remembered the Orichalcum Golem she killed with a single punch.
But then, another question arose in her mind.
"Wait a second, aren't Orichalcum Golems the creations of Gods? Then why was one protecting this city that escaped from them?"
