From the moment the Supreme Eye appeared, and Corey heard Jeremy's words, he had no idea what he was to expect.
If he was to go by Jeremy's words, Jeremy's goal was to upgrade the Universal System with the golden orb.
However, was such a thing possible by a mere Tier 4?
Was it so easy for a Tier 4 who was nothing but a speck of dust in the face of the universe to upgrade the entire Universal System just because he was lucky to find an item that could achieve such a thing on their world?
Sure, Jeremy was a Child of Heaven with an immense amount of luck, Corey still felt that it was not enough for Jeremy to be involved with something as huge as upgrading the Universal System.
In fact, Corey wondered if the Universal System needed to be upgraded.
It was created by a being whose only equal was the Paragon Ancestor.
It was created by a being who had conquered their entire Universe and was regarded as a Multiverse Conqueror.
Could such a system be upgraded by a mere Tier 4 just because of an item that emitted the same aura as the race of that same being?
He recalled the time the Universal System underwent a change/upgrade, and he wondered if something similar was going to happen again.
Corey had so many questions, so many thoughts, so many simulations, so many hypothesis, and so many ideas running through his mind.
And the only thing he could do was wait for whatever was going to happen to happen.
'Before leaving the Underworld, I was expecting a lot of things, but certainly not this... This is beyond any of my calculations.' 𝒏𝒐𝙫𝙥𝙪𝙗.𝒄𝙤𝙢
Just as this thought appeared in Corey's mind, amongst the countless other thoughts in his mind, numerous translucent screens appeared before him.
He went through the announcements, and when he did, he froze in shock and disbelief.
He went through every word and sentence of the notifications, and although every single sentence brought more thoughts into his mind, he focused on the ones that truly caught his attention and the ones he could comprehend in such a short period of time.
First of all, the New System Functions that were now available after the upgrade.
Quests.
System Trials
And Relic Emergence
The emergence of these three new system functions caused the Stars of Consciousness in his mind to blaze furiously.
For the quests, he was extremely curious about them because they reminded him of games. LitRPG games especially.
What he was mainly curious about were the rewards that the Universal System could give out for successfully clearing the quests.
Stats were pointless to him, but titles and unique system artifacts were what caught his fancy.
He was also curious about skill fragments, but his curiosity was extremely mild compared to the above two.
Another thing that caught his attention was the last sentence at the end of the translucent window for the Quest Announcement.
'What is Personal and Racial karma?'
Corey wondered but dismissed it to the back of his mind since he had no answer to that question at the moment.
The next on the list of new system functions unlocked was the System Trials.
Although Corey had no idea what this was, he was extremely suspicious and wary of this system function.
Because he knew that the Universal System was created by the All-Father, he had this feeling that involving himself too deeply with the Universal System would attract the attention of the All-Father or a Supreme at the very least.
Until Corey was certain that the System Trials were completely safe, he had no desire to participate in them despite the promised immense benefits.
Of all the new system functions, the system function that truly piqued his interest was the last- Relic Emergence.
He was curious about what the ancient artifacts were, their origins, and their history.
Because New Earth was a newly ascending world that is just being exposed to mana, he wondered if the ancient and forgotten artifacts were going to be of another world, dimension, or realm, and if they were, what sort of artifacts would they be?
Would they be like his Ancient Spear?
Or his Demonic Sabers?
And what was the path of Relic Seekers? And how important were they?
Corey was extremely curious once again about all of this, and the only thing he knew he could do about this at the moment, was to survive.
Survive and explore all of these new system functions.
And the last but not the least of the notifications that piqued his curiosity.
The World Quest.
There were several things he was curious about, and the first was the corruption level.
He had no idea what corruption levels were, but if he was to guess and compare it to the quest, then that should mean that 67% of New Earth had been taken over by Invaders/Outsiders.
And if he was right, then the World Quest was not just meant for the Underworld officials, demons, and Outsiders that were currently on this island.
From what he saw, the Universal System tried to kill every single invader but failed for some reason, which eventually led it to create the World Quest- [Purge The Invaders]
Everything about the quest seemed normal on the surface, but the moment his gaze landed on the bonus section of the quest, a chill crept up his spine for some reason.
----
-> BONUS: Highest Contributor will be granted the Title [World Guardian] and would be given the opportunity to change their Race.
----
The title was not an issue for Corey, but the moment his gaze landed on the second reward, his pupils could not help but constrict.
For some reasons, he had a feeling that the race change could be changing one's race to that of a Supreme, Demi-Supreme, or something similar.
He was not certain, but his instincts were warning him about this reward, and he decided to listen to it no matter what.
He was a Demi-Paragon, and he had a feeling that if he had the opportunity to change his physique to that of a Supreme, either a Supreme or the All-Father would be present.
Just like when he became a Demi-Paragon.
'Since I don't plan on getting this reward, I'll have to watch out for whoever gets this reward because they might be able to sense my aura as a Paragon and we'll become enemies no matter what.'
'I'm also curious as to what a System Karma is, but I'll push that to the back of my mind for later.'
'Right now... I have to focus on what's going on.'
