She looked down at Huihui, “Do you think everyone else shares your mindset? Get lost quickly and don’t dirty my doorstep.”
Huihui looked up at Gu Pan and took a deep breath, “I know what you’re thinking, and I understand why you can’t accept me. You’re afraid I’ll take your affection. Seeing his wife deep in thought, Lu Ruisheng put his hand on her head and caressed it, “What are you thinking about?”
“Thinking about the future. Society has regressed, even worse than ancient times. The ancients had laws, but in the apocalypse, there’s no law outside of the bases.”
“That’s why we need to go to a base, no matter what we’ll lead a life with order.”
“Exactly, it should be soon.”
At that moment, Cheng Yang’s voice came through the walkie-talkie, “Brother, Sister, when are we going to the Fang Family?”
Lu Ruisheng replied, “Let’s go now. Come to the gate and wait for us. We’ll grab some things and leave.”

Cheng Yang also carried a small package. Seeing Gu Pan and Lu Ruisheng, he scratched his head, looking a bit embarrassed, “This is Chen Lang’s and my snack stash. I’m bringing some for Lanlan.”
Gu Pan smiled and said, “For you two to share your snacks, that’s a big deal.”
Cheng Yang replied, “Well, how should I put it? Even though there was no battle today, when facing life and death, she was willing to stand by my side and help me. That makes her a comrade in life and death.”
Gu Pan took his words seriously this time and said, “Indeed, Squad Leader Fang and Lanlan are worth befriending. We should help them out more in the future.”
Cheng Yang nodded, “Yeah, and Lanlan now talks with me.”

When they arrived at the Fang Family’s home, they knocked and entered.
Squad Leader Fang greeted them with great enthusiasm, “You’re here, come in quickly.”

Squad Leader Fang smiled, “Nothing gets past you two. That’s true. The girl knew you were in danger. She didn’t wait for me to say anything and just left. I thought, since it’s the apocalypse, she should be exposed to these things, so I didn’t stop her.”
Gu Pan looked at Squad Leader Fang in surprise, “Squad Leader Fang, did you really feel okay letting her go by herself?”
Squad Leader Fang sighed, “I can’t be with her all the time. She has to face these things on her own eventually. Plus, I trust your abilities. If you couldn’t handle it, you would have moved away yesterday.”
Gu Pan smiled at Squad Leader Fang, “Exactly as you said. We’ve already settled things with them. From now on, we’ll keep to ourselves. If there’s anything, just let us know.”
Squad Leader Fang nodded, “Yeah, if I have any troubles, I really can only turn to you. I don’t have much, it’s mainly Lanlan. She’s willing to interact with you, so I can rest easy.”
As they spoke, Fang Lanlan came out of the bedroom and smiled at them from the doorway. She didn’t speak, but that smile served as a greeting.
Gu Pan waved at her, “Lanlan, thank you for today.”
Fang Lanlan quickly shook her head, “No thanks needed. You’ve helped me far more.”

Fang Lanlan looked at Cheng Yang with a smile, accepted the bag, and hugged it, “Thank you.”
