Red Rock Human Settlement:
Jeremy began tollect details from the staff, including the wilderness map surrounding the settlement.
"Is there any sign of Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts reported by people?" Jeremy asked.
The staff was taken aback. One of the female staff members who came from the Mercenary Familymmented, "We didn't get any reports regarding the Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts."
"But the Senior Mercenaries had the same idea before their disappearance in the wilderness," she added.
Jeremy asked, "What's the Power Tier of the Senior Mercenaries?"
"They are Tier-3 Beast Tamers," she replied.
Hearing that, Jeremy nodded to her, but the doubts in his heart multiplied.
If the Senior Mercenaries in the settlement are Tier-3 Beast Tamers, then theyuld have easily handled Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts.
Jeremy then left the building and decided to start his investigation. He was going to search their hunting area in the wilderness.
The wilderness map given by the staff had all the important places marked on it. Jeremy thought heuld find some clues in these areas.
He then found a small room to change his clothes.
About 20 minutes later,
Jeremy changed into hismbat uniform. He then exited the human settlement. The passersby were not surprised. They knew that people were starting tome in these days.
They were all there for the mission. Their visit also provided a sense of security to the people living in this small base.
It didn't take long for Jeremy Night to reach the wilderness. He had alreadyme across lower-tier beasts, but he ignored them all.
On his way, he had been trying to find any clues. But the paths mentioned in the map were all clear. There were no recent traces of battle or beastrpses scattered around here.
Jeremy frowned. He decided to check other places as well.
Time passed.
Jeremy went to check one place after another, but he failed to find any clues. During the search, he came across other Beast Tamers as well.
They were members of the Beast Taming Association. They werenducting their own investigations as well. Jeremy had a briefnversation with them.
From them, he was able to find out new information. The Mercenaries didn't go for the hunt. Rather, they had gone to explore a new place in the wilderness.
Because the Corrupted Beasts living in this area were getting lesser and lesser, they had no choice but to go deeper into the wilderness.
Jeremy's eyes flickered. He had to thank the people from the Beast Taming Association. If not for their information sharing, he would have been blindly looking for them.
Then he separated from them and went a little deeper into the wilderness. Jeremy found that the place had bme semi-arid. The ground was getting drier and drier, and the vegetation had bme less.
He didn't know whether anyone hadme this far. Now he understood why the Mercenaries had no choice. He doubted whether any Corrupted Beasts lived in this semi-arid area.
Rustle!
Jeremy heard a rustling sound. He turned around and saw a 20-foot-long brown python looking at him. It was hiding behind the bushes.
But Jeremy found it amusing because its huge bodyuldn't be hidden by the bushes. He didn't want to waste energy dealing with these beasts.
Swoosh!
He left the place and started to go deeper.
Not long after, he euntered a black rpion over 10 feet tall.
Jeremy immediately took out his black katana and held it in his right hand. He was not interested in fighting against the beasts during this mission.
But he felt a threatening aura from the rpion.
Swoosh!
The rpion sprinted towards him. It immediately attacked him using its stinger. Jeremy brought forward the sword's flat side to block it.
Clang!
A metallicllision sounded.
At the same time, Jeremy Night was forced to retreat auple of steps. He was shocked. The impact force was powerful. It was not the power generated by the Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts.
Jeremy's eyes flickered. He had unintentionally euntered a possible Tier-4 Corrupted Beast. His heart raced. He didn't expect tome across this chance.
He had decided to test his recent improvements on the beast.
The black rpion moved its pincers to attack. Jeremy once again drew his sword. The katana blade in his hand danced before striking the claw-like pincers.
Clang!
The black rpion's sturdier scales blocked it immediately.
Jeremy felt the vibration in his hand. He knew that the katana blade in his handuld cut a Tier-3 Beast in two. But when it came to the Tier-4 Beast, the blade's sharpness was not enough to penetrate.
Swoosh!
Jeremy retreated backward. He found that the black rpion was different from the Tier-4 Beast he had seen during the Beast Invasion.
Those Corrupted Beasts were undermmand. They were all bloodthirsty and cruel. This Tier-4 Beast was a bit similar, yet it was not a fully evolved Tier-4 Corrupted Beast.
He thought heuld still handle it.
Jeremy started to use the starlight energy. Hevered the katana blade with starlight.
The black rpion realized that its prey was hard to deal with. But it was not willing to give in. The beast once again rushed towards him.
Cut!
Jeremy swung the katana blade. The blade went downward beforeming inntact with the right pincer.
Crack!
The blade managed to leave a crack. Blood startedming out from the cracked injury. Seeing that, Jeremy's eyes flickered. The power behind the strike was not enough to cleave the pincer in two.
Ssh!
The rpion beast made a strange noise. The cut had brought it pain.
Swoosh!
Jeremy retreated backward again. He realized that he had shormings when it came to fighting against the Tier-4 Beasts.
His starlight energy power was not enough to deal damage to the Tier-4 Beast.
Under his gaze, the black rpion fled and disappeared from his sight. Jeremy didn't go after it. He had wanted to test hismabt strength. Now he knew his strength was still not enough.
He then pushed down these thoughts before leaving this place.
