Dean's office:
"I have an idea. I'm going to summon the two S-Graders. Let them watch the video. If they change their minds..."
"Then the issue would come to an end. Their families won't have any reason to complain," Carolyn said with a smile.
"I'm going to call their instructor," Derek said before making the call.
A few minutes later, he had finished explaining things to them. The two S-Graders would arrive shortly.
Instructor Jacob didn't leave. He was the one who recorded the video.
About 15 minutes later,
May Lindsey and Victor Scott walked into the room. Upon seeing the dean and others, they were startled.
May Lindsey immediately thought of her family. She knew about the discussions going on in her family.
They wanted to see the duel happen between her and Jeremy Night.
It was the same with Victor Scott. Unlike May Lindsey, he supported his family. He had been staying low-key for too long. His family was disappointed with his attitude.
So this time, he wanted to change it. Even if the dean disagreed, he would ask his family to convince her. The instructors had come behind them as well.
Dean Carolyn saw them and asked them to come in. There were two more chairs available for the instructors to sit in. The female instructor of the Elemental Department sat beside Jacob.
While the middle-aged male instructor of the Control Department sat next to Elder Derek, Carolyn asked both May Lindsey and Victor Scott to come to her side.
"I think you guys have already guessed the purpose of this meeting. It's regarding your challenge request to Jeremy Night," Carolyn said.
May Lindsey wasn't surprised. She was expecting this from her.
Victor Scott's eyes flickered. He started to think about the arguments. He couldn't let Jeremy Night steal their limelight. He was just an A-Grade Talent, whereas they were S-Grade Talents.
If it were any other place, their treatment would have been different. But here, an A-Grade Talent had taken their spot.
Their instructors wore solemn expressions on their faces. The dean was behind the development of the STRIKER Department. Going against Jeremy Night was the same as going against the STRIKER Department.
They were well aware of the politics. As Central University 14 staff, they would listen to the dean.
Derek raised his eyebrows. He couldn't wait to watch the dumbfounded reactions from them. That kid had already stupefied them. Now it was their turn.
Dean Carolyn saw the unwilling intent in their eyes. She could tell that these two were not going to give up easily.
She said, "If you two and your families want the challenge duel to happen, then you have to fulfill the conditions laid out by Jeremy Night."
Gasp!
May Lindsey took a sharp breath. For a second, she thought she was hearing something wrong.
Jeremy Night's absurd condition was supported by her.
Even Victor Scott thought he was hearing something wrong. He couldn't help but look at the two instructors.
Only they could talk back to the dean.
The female instructor felt the helplessness in May Lindsey's eyes. She could understand her emotions.
She said, "Dean, the condition is ridiculous. How can a Tier-1 Beast Tamer defeat a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast?"
"Jeremy Night is avoiding the challenge. If he doesn't want to fight, he can say so," she added.
"Dean, our university 14 has become a laughing stock because of this kid. He is just an A-Grade Talent. How can he be comparable to the two S-Graders?" the Control Department instructor said.
"Our City A is already laughing at our situation. If other zones and their Central Universities learn about this, we will become the laughing stock of our entire human population," he added.
Quiet! 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓹𝓾𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂
The room became quiet all of a sudden.
Elder Derek and Instructor Jacob didn't make a sound.
May Lindsey and Victor Scott were happy that the instructors spoke on behalf of them. Obviously, they wanted to shine as the instructors of S-Grade Talents.
Their spotlight had been stolen by Jacob Henry. They wanted to score against him as well.
Dean Carolyn's mouth curved into an arc.
She then said, "Jeremy Night killed a Tier-4 Corrupted Hound yesterday in the wilderness. You can watch the video."
Gasp!
"Impossible," May Lindsey was the first one to utter.
"Are you joking...," Victor Scott stopped his words halfway. But he was dumbfounded as well.
Their instructors were shocked to the core. They couldn't believe that the dean was believing Jeremy Night's nonsense.
"Here is the video. I took Jeremy Night to the wilderness yesterday, and then I captured his kill," Jacob said, starting to play the video on his device.
He had made a copy earlier before sending the original to the dean.
The two instructors, May Lindsey, and Victor Scott's gazes were fixed on the video that was playing.
They saw Jeremy Night facing off against the ferocious hound beast. From its size, it was clear that it was a Tier-4 Corrupted Beast.
But their faces were written with horror a couple of seconds later because Jeremy Night had killed the Tier-4 Beast in two moves. It was a quick and swift kill.
The female instructor touched her skin. She was not dreaming. It was indeed a fast kill. That too, a Tier-1 Beast Tamer had done it against a Tier-4 Ferocious Hound Beast.
The middle-aged male instructor was frozen like a statue. A huge wave set off in his heart. He had berated that kid a couple of seconds ago.
After looking at the footage, he understood the reason behind the condition. That kid Jeremy Night was a real STRIKER. He had done something without relying on the lifeline beast.
The two S-Graders were nowhere near him.
The female instructor observed this point as well. Even a 4th-year student wouldn't be able to do this without relying on their lifeline beast.
May Lindsey stood rooted in the same spot. She was in disbelief. She couldn't believe Jeremy Night, who had an A-GRADE Talent, was able to achieve this accomplishment.
Victor Scott was terrified in his heart. He had finally decided to confront Jeremy Night after reaching the Tier-1 limit. Yet Jeremy Night's record had stunned him once again.
Last time it was a Tier-3 Beast. Now it was a Tier-4 Beast. He was one step ahead of them.
