"Yes, your information is very accurate. Romand Willy indeed submitted his resignation late yesterday, and it has already been approved. The reason is quite obvious; no one is satisfied with the current performance of Langley. Langley could have done better, but it failed to function effectively in many key intelligence operations."
"Therefore, Mr. Romand Willy realized his capabilities were inadequate to lead this department and submitted his resignation following the advice of the top boss. As for Mr. Romand Willy's successor, that has yet to be decided. As everyone knows, Langley is an extremely important department for our nation."

The majority of the journalists who had been permitted to enter this mansion for the press conference were seasoned professionals. They were, of course, familiar with how spokespersons usually responded to such matters.
Either they would first affirm the work of the resigning individual, provide a brief summary of their work, and then offer good wishes, or they would simply offer no comment and bypass the issue altogether.
Today's response indicated either a deep dissatisfaction with the work performed under Romand Willy's tenure or that the former Langley head had been involved in a severe conflict with the high-profile bigwigs within this mansion...
Think about it, how could a spokesperson dare to speak so candidly about a just-resigned Langley head without permission from above?
No amount of buff on oneself would make a difference!
