Chapter 180: I Can’t Forget Him
Outside the hospital entrance, a nanny van had been waiting for a long time.
As soon as Qiao Sisi got into the van, her manager began questioning her.
“Why did you come out so quickly? Didn’t you say you’d be there for a long time?”
The manager was puzzled.
Qiao Sisi had initially agreed to go to an event, but suddenly called them halfway, saying she wasn’t going anymore.
She wanted to postpone the event to visit a friend in the hospital.
She said she’d be there for at least an hour, but it had barely been ten minutes before she came out.
Now their event was postponed for nothing?
Qiao Sisi, her mood sour, didn’t even take off her sunglasses. She simply said in a low voice, “Let’s go back and rest. No work today.”
Noticing her low spirits, the manager, having good judgment, could see something was off.
Recalling what happened on the dating show before, it clicked that the person she came to see was Fang Zhou.
“You still can’t forget him?”
This manager had been with Qiao Sisi for two years, no longer the one from her early days.
Although she hadn’t witnessed their love firsthand, she knew all about her artist’s personal matters.
The official reason for their breakup was incompatible personalities, which had always bothered Qiao Sisi.
In reality, the agency was the mastermind behind it.
Qiao Sisi had suspected as much, leaving that agency after achieving some success.
She had even seen Qiao Sisi drunk late at night, calling out Fang Zhou’s name.
Even her insistence on joining the dating show couldn’t be stopped.
As an artist with her own wings, the manager couldn’t control her.
All she could do was silently prepare for any fallout, ensuring it wouldn’t affect her career.
“I can’t forget him, Sister Zhu.”
Qiao Sisi gave a bitter smile, a smile that was pale and weak, not like a radiant star but more like a girl who had just been heartbroken.
She lowered her head, her mind filled with Fang Zhou’s cold demeanor toward her.
She really couldn’t stay any longer. If she lost control, she might do something to hurt Fang Zhou, something she’d regret.
Even though Qiao Sisi often thought if she couldn’t have him, she’d destroy him.
But now, in this stage of effort, she couldn’t let her impulsiveness ruin everything. 𝘯𝘰𝘷𝘱𝘶𝑏.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Unless she truly saw no hope, she’d take Fang Zhou with her without hesitation.
The manager, Sister Zhu, patted Qiao Sisi’s arm comfortingly, “It’s okay. If you can’t forget him, then win him back. I have faith in you.”
These were merely comforting words.
The manager had seen enough of the dating show to know that the boy didn’t care much for Qiao Sisi, yet she was like a moth to the flame.
Well, no amount of advice would help; she’d have to hit the wall and get hurt herself.
The black nanny van quickly started up and left the hospital entrance.
At the same time, another car rolled down its window, and a man looked at the black nanny van with a thoughtful smile.
He raised his camera, checking the photos he had just taken, and excitedly called his friend, “I’m going to strike it rich. I’ve got some explosive news today!”
After Qiao Sisi left, the ward returned to its serene state.
Fang Zhou waited for a long time, but Han Xi, who had said she was going to get food, never returned.
“Forget it. A busy CEO like her wouldn’t have time to get food. I’ll wait for Li Siming to come.”
He shook his head, thinking he had overthought it.
Meanwhile, Han Xi, who Fang Zhou had been thinking about, was in the cafeteria, feeling a headache watching the long line.
In the first episode on the island, there weren’t this many people in the cafeteria when she got food for Fang Zhou.
But this was a capital city hospital, naturally crowded with patients.
However, lining up with so many people was beyond Han Xi’s capability.
She stepped out to make a call, arranging for food to be delivered.
Half an hour later, a special car parked in the hospital lot.
Four or five people emerged, carrying insulated boxes full of food.
“President Han, which floor should we deliver to?”
The person called Han Xi, quickly spotting her.
“Follow me.”
Han Xi pressed the button for the 16th floor, leading them directly to Fang Zhou’s ward, finding him lying in bed listening to a book.
“Last time, Tang Sanzang and his disciples left the Kingdom of Women...”
Han Xi paused, surprised to find Fang Zhou listening to Journey to the West.
She hadn’t expected him to listen to classics when bored, making her realize she didn’t know him well enough.
Hearing the chaotic footsteps, Fang Zhou called out to stop the audiobook, listening intently, “Who is it?”
“It’s me, time to eat.”
Han Xi lifted her chin, signaling for the others to set up.
“Sir, we’re from XX five-star hotel. This is a special meal prepared for you by President Han.”
The staff, sharp-eyed, quickly introduced the dishes to Fang Zhou.
“There’s corn and crucian carp soup, yam and lily soup, and steamed chicken wings with cordyceps flowers... We consulted the doctor, and there are no dietary restrictions. Do you dislike any of these dishes?”
Fang Zhou remained silent, not responding.
He hadn’t expected Han Xi’s “getting food” to mean arranging such a grand meal, rather than simply fetching from the hospital kitchen.
How much must this have cost? Why would he deserve such a feast?
Recalling his usual simple meals, quickly gobbled up, he suddenly felt unworthy of such gourmet food.
Seeing his silence, Han Xi answered for him.
“Just eat. If there’s anything you don’t like, we can pick it out later.”
“Alright, sir. I’ll start by feeding you some porridge.”
The staff, very accommodating, rolled up their sleeves, setting up the food before sitting by the bed to feed Fang Zhou.
Fang Zhou, feeling threatened, retreated repeatedly.
“No need for that. I think I can eat by myself.”
Apart from the incident on the island, he had never received such treatment!
Han Xi smirked coldly, dropping a light remark that hit Fang Zhou like a whip.
“What, are you planning to feed yourself through your nostrils?”
“Or do you want me to feed you? I can, but you’ll need to cheer me up first.”
She was still annoyed by Qiao Sisi and needed Fang Zhou to soothe her.
Fang Zhou choked on his words, determined to feed himself.
And as expected, the first spoonful went straight to his nose, just as Han Xi had predicted.
Inwardly, Fang Zhou conceded: Fine, fine, your sharp tongue strikes again.
