Chapter 1089: Start of the Journey to The Inviting Isles
Leaving Humfail Reef went more smoothly than Vicente had thought it would. Even more so considering his conversation earlier with a high-level member of the island’s sovereign force.
But as he looked back and thought about it, he couldn’t help but smile in recognition of his lack of experience. ’There’s still a lot I need to learn and get used to. In fact, I need to adapt to the position I’ve earned after all these years. I’m no longer a junior, even at Anicane. It’s only natural that some experts turn a blind eye to me.
Vicente thought with a smile, having grown up so fast in the middle of his journey that he had overlooked such a thing. But come to think of it, the specialist who had given him a ’mission’ hadn’t done it just to use someone willing to travel across the Sea of Stars and do something for the island that few others could. In part, the action of that peak Grand Magus had been to avoid friction and start a more positive relationship for both sides.
As for the promise he had made, Vicente was relaxed about it. As something that wouldn’t go against his interests and principles, he was fine with carrying out a mission for Humfail Reef in the future.
The most important thing for him now was what he had obtained from this last contact with the sovereign force of Humfail Reef. In addition to the advance prize he had received for transporting the teleportation formation, he had the books and materials to learn how to do something like this.
Moving his thoughts in that direction, already far enough from the coast of Humfail Reef to worry about the local powers, Vicente sat down on a cushion and opened one of the books.
’If I learn how to replicate this, my chances will increase significantly. With something like this, I would be able to move between the islands of Anicane without running into the dangers of the Sea of Stars. At the same time, if one day I find some method of sending things to the Polaris Realm, that could be the answer to me fulfilling my promise to the elves and dragons!’
Vicente had no thoughts of returning to Polaris Realm himself. He had become very strong and would strengthen further on his journey to the point where he wasn’t sure if, even if he managed to travel back, he could coexist with his old plan. 𝓃𝓸𝓋𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂
From a certain point of power, one’s aura and magical pressure could become so strong as to poison surrounding environments and destroy that which was far inferior to that magical quality. Precisely for this reason, when one reached 7th stage or a power similar to the 7th stage in Polaris Realm, they were naturally expelled by the plane to a stronger place: Anicane.
But Vicente thought it was possible for him to send something to Polaris Realm. He didn’t know exactly how, but he was willing to investigate how to do it.
’As long as I learn what these Humfail Reef locations do and can find a way to send one of these formations to the Polaris Realm, I’ll be able to accomplish my goals!’
Vicente smiled as he thought of his daughter and wives, also remembering his sisters and friends. He wanted to see them all again. He missed them and thought about his loved ones constantly.
Now that he was embarking on a new journey, one that would end in a few years with him being alone or with only Lyra, he couldn’t help but think even more about his family.
’Once this is over, I can live in peace and try to have a few more children. He finished his thoughts before continuing his studies.
Vicente had longed for peace with his wives. But his journey had been tumultuous, from the tragic beginning that set him on the path of revenge to the calamity initiated by The Purification. He had barely had time to think about living in peace with his people during that period, but that had been his ultimate goal after avenging his parents’ deaths.
Now he was in an intermediate position, still with many problems keeping him from the peace he desired, but already far from the starting point on this path.
Meanwhile, his companions were in position, attentive to their surroundings, with Larissa and Lyra together in the ship’s cockpit, and Rex keeping an eye out in front of them.
They had just left the island and would have a few hours before leaving the territorial sea of Humfail Reef. But they were already worried about their path ahead, aware that the dangers of the Sea of Stars could catch up with them in a very short time.
The journey to Humfail Reef had been very good overall. But that was no guarantee of anything. Now they were heading for even more powerful areas of Anicane, which naturally raised the risks of any unfortunate encounter.
But the two were excited, thinking about their next destination: The Inviting Isles!
The Inviting Isles was less than two years’ journey from their current position and held precious possibilities for each of them.
It wasn’t Lyra’s plan to stay in The Inviting Isles without first getting to know the place, but even she was very interested in the possibility of staying behind there with Rex and Larissa.
The two of them kept this in mind as they led the way for the group, sailing away from Humfail Reef on their way to the most powerful islands in Anicane!
...
The months would pass and the group would complete the first third of their marine journey.
The challenges they had expected to come on this journey came, putting them in danger on at least half a dozen different occasions. But they hadn’t been confronted with dangers capable of wiping them out.
The group had weathered the months of travel well, now carrying with them only the marks of the battles and challenges they had experienced on their vessel. But the four crew members were well enough to continue the journey and fight on.
Vicente had learned a lot during the times he hadn’t fought, but he still needed more time to study the idea behind the teleportation formations.
That’s why, that morning, as their ship sailed north, he could still be seen studying what he had done most in these months of travel.
But even while concentrating on his studies, Vicente had a good handle on what was going on around him.
On what seemed like an ordinary morning, he suddenly opened his eyes when he felt something coming from the bottom of the sea.
