Chapter 1097: Easy start

About a month after advancing to the Sorcerer stage, Vicente reached a border area in his objectives, where he stopped and observed the vastness of the Hell, on one side the region in fiery conflict for Abby’s former domains, on the other the uncontested area in the Hell’s current context.

Looking in the direction he had come from, finally having reached the end of the grandiose territory formerly belonging to Devil Abby, Vicente sighed. He remembered the Seniors who had helped him earlier, wondering how powerful they really were for one of them to have had such a wide domain.

But in the midst of his observation, he was immensely relieved. In the last month, Vicente hadn’t conquered any new areas in Hell. As such, his power had stagnated. But he had completed his immediate goal of leaving the region in conflict with the powerful Devils currently in dispute.

’Now I can learn about this place and continue my growth more slowly.’ He turned his eyes in the opposite direction of the war, where he could sense several domains free of owners, others with absent owners and others with individuals not involved in the current war.

Regions outside Abby’s former domains were not totally deserted, without any of their sovereigns. On the contrary, the other parts of Hell still contained, even at this moment, half of their normal contingents.

But comparing these other areas qualitatively with the area at war, the Hell beings around the Hell were much simpler than those in the domains Vicente had just left once and for all.

’I’ll move on for another two weeks and then go hunting again. When I’ve achieved stability, I’ll stop to study the cores of my domains outside this region.’ He thought about the territories he would get from now on, but also about how little he had already learned about the Hell.

In each area of the Reincarnation Wheel, there were the Hell palaces, central points of the territories, where one could get guardians, undead, but also information about the Hell and cultivation in general.

This information didn’t come automatically with new domain acquisitions, as it did with gaining powers. That was something one had to dedicate oneself to looking at, studying and learning. Vicente hadn’t stopped at any point so far to do this, so naturally he didn’t know anything about what his 13 current domains had in store for him.

What he did know was that he had to keep going and get stronger. Only then could he establish himself in a place without fear of adversaries and begin to study ways of leaving the Hell.

He had already tried to manipulate the space in the Hell, but had failed miserably. The space in this dimension was so resistant that some of his movements, such as opening wormholes, were completely non-functional.

In fact, several of his powers were sealed, while only the Throne of Darkness part was fully functional. Even the glowing crystal he had obtained at the bottom of the sea, before being attacked by high-level enemies that day he reviewed Minos, was sealed in his body.

Aware of his limitations and the local dangers, he moved on with his guardians and undead serving him, continuing his crusade towards the more remote areas of the Hell compared to Abby’s former domains.

’I hope I can finish learning the teleportation formation of the Humfail Reef beings as soon as possible. Maybe this is my only chance. He thought to himself, that being his plan for the moment, since he had nothing better and didn’t know of any other options with a chance of getting him out of the Hell.

His plan was to use this and a strengthening ritual together to leave the dimension and return to his companions on the boat to The Inviting Isles.

Would that work? He didn’t know, but that was his only plan for the moment.

...

The chaotic infernal war continued to develop, reaching the third month since its beginning, post-’death’ of Devil Abby.

Even though the Hell is a vast dimension, little by little news of the conflicts reached the more distant areas of the dimension, attracting more interested parties in the dispute for domains, but also informing those not so interested in the current war.

Among those who got information, Vicente had learned a little more about the players fighting in the region from which he had fled, having learned more about Hell and its internal dynamics.

He heard the names of the main Devils, the status of each one’s magical power and influence - which were more the focus of everyone involved in the conflict. Supposedly, Devil Qhava was strengthening rapidly, heading towards the level needed to challenge the strongest Devil in the dimension, an individual named Lothur Ritter.

Meanwhile, 2 of the other 5 most powerful Devils had supposedly allied themselves and were working to combat Qhava, their greatest rival and murderous interest.

News of Devil Ritter was more scarce, being more related to the actions of his underlings and enemies who coveted him, such as Qhava. There was no news about him moving himself. In fact, there hadn’t been any news of him doing anything for a long time. Since long before Vice’s birth, as far as he could tell, this Devil had been in seclusion, looking for the next step towards the Throne of Hell.

Vicente was impressed by the differences in powers between these Transcendents, having learned a lot about the Hell’s recent history, the divisions and classifications of that place and the basics of what the dimension represented.

Now two months since leaving the domain formerly belonging to Abby for good, Vicente had improved his domains and the number of Reincarnation Wheels in his territory, having defeated enemies, subdued underlings and finally obtained the position to study the Hell.

Thus, he learned what was happening in the dimension, the most important names, the function of Hell for the universes and what Anicane was to this place.

His cultivation increased once again, a common reality for those building their Hell domains, reaching the end of the 3-Star of the Sorcerer stage.

He believed he could grow to 5-Star or even 6-Star with relative peace of mind, but he knew it wouldn’t be interesting to take it too far before returning to Anicane.

The Hell’s cultivation rules were different from Anicane’s, but as a being deeply connected to Anicane, until he became a Transcendent, he couldn’t escape its pentagram-related rules. Consequently, he was already studying his escape, having improved his understanding of teleportation formations and the Hell’s space.

Now it was just a matter of him finishing his research and strengthening himself before he tried to return to Anicane!
