The next morning, Yin got up, San lying right next to her. He was still sleeping peacefully, his hair sticking in all directions. She blinked and let herself fall back into bed before stubbing his cheek.
He grumbled and muttered a dry. "just five more minutes."
Yin stupped him again and San cracked open an eye. "I am tired." he rumbled and Yin giggled next to him.
"Morning, sunshine." She said. He gazed out of the window and groaned. "Damn. This isn't supposed to happen."
"Well, it's rare to see grumpy morning San," Yin said while rising and jumping up and down on the bed-hopping out of it. Shivering when her naked feet touched the cold wooden floor. "It's also pretty early. The clock will be ringing in a few minutes. Why the heck did you sneak over anyway? I thought you were room-sharing with Oscar?"
"He snores," San said and got out as well. "Loudly, and he was meditating the entire night. I didn't like the light, and neither you nor Feng mind if I sleep here." He said and stretched. "Where is Feng, by the way?"
"Morning rounds. She is training." Yin said, throwing him a pair of her pants. "We should go as well. Morning Rounds don't finish themselves."
"Yeah." They changed out of their PJs and then walked outside. San threw her a few weights, and she joined in as they jogged where Feng was already stretching. "Tell me, Feng, how do you manage to sneak out every single time like a ghost to practice?"
"T-Talent," Feng told her with a cheeky grin. "L-Lets...." She stopped and stared behind them. The Tang Twins turned around and saw Jiang alongside Ning Rong Rong's head in their direction. Rong Rong crossed her arms, huffed, and then said with a tone that sounded a bit like Yu Hua on a bad day. "I will be joining you. Be happy that I am." She said and then joined in stretching.
"First thing. You might want to get rid of those heeled shoes," Xiao Wu said, then threw a pair of her spare shoes in Rong Rong's direction. "We have the same size."
She eyed the shoes and then changed out of hers. "P-Pants, too. B-Better." Feng said and walked to her and helped her stretch her shoulder out.
"We start with light jogging," Jiang told her. "To warm up."
Then he started running while the others joined in. All but Ning Rong Rong were already wearing light weights as they made their rounds around the Village, following Ning Feng, who had done the round before the day before. After a while, Ning Rong Rong fell back, slowing, unable to keep up their pace. Tang Yin nodded at the others to head ahead, slowly falling back and joining Rong Rong.
"Adjust your breathing; count the steps that make it easier." She told her. "Each step, count one time in, and then let the air out two or three times in small bursts in rhythm."
"I know that." Rong Rong retorted. "I am not stupid; this is not my first time running."
"I get it, I get it, alright," Yin said, continuing to join her lightly next to her.
"You cold be running ahead with the others." Rong Rong said after a while. "it's not difficult for you to keep up."
"I could." Yin answered her. "But I won't. One always stays behind with the slowest." She shrugged her shoulders and Rong Rong looked at her as if she had grown two heads.
"You are the strongest; why would you...I mean, I didn't even know that someone could have two purple spirit rings at level 35 spirit power. Normal people would die doing that; it's above the ring age limit."
Yin snorted. "That's where you are wrong. I am not strong. Ning Feng, Bro, and the others are strong. I only have lots of spirit power; everything else, I am nowhere near where I probably should be, especially when this is going offline." She held up her gloved hand. Rong Rong looked at her, confused.
"I have a touch too much spirit power for my body, " she explained. I am physically strong, but I am nowhere near where I should be to be unaffected by it."
"I never heard of that." Rong Rong said, staring at her arm. "That is possible?"
"Yes." Yin shrugged her shoulders. It is probably also a reason why I am almost a head smaller than my Twin brother. We were the same size until about two years ago; after that, it was like I stopped growing and remained like this."
"In my Clan, you would be a highly regarded Talent." Rong Rong said. "Alongside your brother, you can join if you want. No need for any test or entrance requirements. With my word and your power, you would be in one of the most powerful clans in a heartbeat."
"No need," Yin told her off. "I have my Clan, the Tang Sect. I am even vice master. Why would I go to Seven Treasures, where I would be regarded as an exceptional Talent but have no real say when I am Vice Master?"
Rong Rong shut up and continued running with them when Jiang fell back and joined in. "I take over, Yin, " he said, and Yin nodded, speeding up and joining the others ahead.
