Chapter 31: 31:Messing Things
The guards stood at the entrance of the City Lord’s mansion, yawning as they struggled to stay awake.
The City Lord didn’t have an official army, just a small squad responsible for his safety. Two of the guards at the front were strong, but they weren’t mana users. One of them was dozing off when the sound of footsteps jolted him awake.
"Who’s there?" one guard shouted, gripping his spear tightly. A shadowy figure leaped from the alley, landing gracefully before them.
His face was hidden behind a mask, and a dark cloak wrapped around his body. The guards pointed their spears at him, their hands shaking slightly.
The masked man pulled out a small golden-wrapped box, shimmering under the moonlight. "Deliver this to the City Lord," he said in a low voice.
"It contains something he truly desires." The guards exchanged confused glances, unsure if this was a gift or a trap.
"Don’t open it," the man warned. "If you do, the City Lord will make you wish for death."
Without another word, he turned and vanished into the darkness. One of the guards hesitated for a moment before chasing after him, leaving his partner alone with the mysterious box.
The remaining guard picked it up with his fingers trembling.
Should he open it? Was this some kind of trick?
After a moment of hesitation, he decided to deliver it as instructed, not wanting to face the City Lord’s wrath.
"Who knows if this is important and I might be killed."

Inside the mansion, Loreno lounged in his chair, deep in thought. His heart still pounded from today’s events about Kael who had been different, nothing like the weak, quiet boy he remembered.
There was something terrifying about him now, something dangerous. Loreno frowned, trying to shake off his unease when a pair of hands kneaded him giving him a sense of europhia.
Soft hands massaged his waist which went deep into groins giving a soft shake making him moan.
"Ahhh... yes, right there," he murmured. The seductive woman behind him giggled, leaning closer.
"My Lord, shall we take this further?" she whispered in his ear.
Loreno smirked, his hands sliding over her curves. "You really are the best the pleasure house has to offer," he said, his voice filled with lust.
Holding the groin, she smiled, pressing herself against him, and sat down on his lap.
She opened her lips to kiss but a loud knock shattered the moment.
Loreno’s face twisted in fury, and his body tensed. He turned to the woman, who looked surprised at the sudden interruption. "Who dares to ruin my night?" he roared.
His anger surged when he felt something... spill in his pants soiling it.
The woman blinked, staring at the warm liquid oozing through his clothes. Loreno’s face burned with shame and rage, and he shoved her aside. She squealed, landing hard on the floor.
"Damn bastard!" he growled, his voice venomous. "Do you want to die?"
A guard on the other side of the door stammered, "My Lord, forgive me, but a box was delivered... It contains something you once desired."
Loreno’s fury paused for a moment, his curiosity piqued. He glanced at the woman still rubbing her sore backside.
"Wait here," he ordered before stepping outside. His eyes locked onto the glittering box in the guard’s trembling hands and clicked his tongue. 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂
"This better be worth my time," he hissed. "If not, I’ll send you straight to the pleasure house... and you know what happens to men there who were sent as punishment."
The guard’s expression paled with his breath, hitching in fear. Loreno ignored him, snatching the box greedily.
"I don’t remember buying anything important,"trying to ponder, he opened the box.
"Haaa!"
He gasped in shock with his eyes widening as big as spacer sending a mad shiver over his body.
Inside was a note along with a cut finger which had a familiar.
He picked up the note which read.
[Come to the pleasure house if you want to see your son alive.]
"NOOOO!"
Loreno’s face twisted in rage as he crumpled the note in his fist.
His breath came in ragged gasps, his veins bulging as his entire body burned with fury.
His son—his own flesh and blood—had been taken right from under his nose. His hands trembled, not from fear, but from the sheer, uncontrollable wrath surging inside him.
"ASSEMBLE A FIVE-MAN SQUAD! NOW!" he roared, his voice booming through the mansion.
The guards scrambled, terrified by his murderous expression. "You’re coming with me," he growled. "Tonight, I’m burning those bastards to the ground."
As he stormed forward, the woman from before sauntered out, oblivious to the situation. She smirked, her voice dripping with seductive ness "What’s wrong, Lord Loreno? Can’t get it up again?"
BANG!
Before she could finish, Loreno’s foot slammed into her stomach. She flew back, crashing onto the cold stone floor with a pained shriek.
"Shut up whore!" he spat, glaring down at her writhing form.
"Know your place, bitch. You’re nothing but a toy for men. How dare you speak to me like that?" He stepped over her without a second glance, too furious to waste another moment.
Inside the armory, Loreno donned his dark, reinforced armor. The black steel plates gleamed under the dim lanterns, his blood-red cape flowing behind him. He fastened his gauntlets, his fingers twitching with rage. His sword, a jagged blade crafted for slaughter, rested at his hip. His eyes burned with a killing intent that made the guards flinch.
"Move out!" he barked, leading his men into the night. The torches flickered as their boots thundered against the stone streets, cutting through the dark like a hunting pack ready to rip apart its prey.
As he moved away, far away from the mansion.
On top of a tree hidden in the shadows, a lone figure leaned against a tree, watching the chaos unfold. His cloak melded into the darkness, his mask concealing his smirk. The City Lord had taken the bait—like the fool he was.
"Heh... Running off and leaving the real treasure behind," the man chuckled, tilting his head toward the mansion. He gazed at the crescent moon, now tinged with an eerie violet hue.
"I hope I find enough evidence to ruin them all..." He exhaled slowly, then grinned
"Let’s cause a mess. A very big fucking mess...Hahahah!"
His laughter echoed through the night as he leaped from the tree, vanishing into the shadows.
