Chapter 939: Chapter 67 How Many Giants Are There?_3

"What’s the story with these two, that has you all so tense?"

The leading Frost Giant wiped the sweat from his forehead and spoke in a deep voice:

"The woman, I don’t know, but the man seems to be called... Loki."

The body of the young Frost Giant stiffened, large beads of sweat forming on his forehead, and a cold breeze blew across his back, chilling him to the bone.

By now, Luo En and Brynhild, under the guidance of an old Frost Giant, had arrived at the Royal Palace.

Calling it a Royal Palace was somewhat misleading – it was more like a partially open-air temple.

The spacious circular area was used for duels, sacrifices, and dividing prey, surrounded by dried clots of blood and the bones of prey, exuding a primitive and savage aura.

Ascending a hundred-some steps into an imposing Ice Crystal Palace, the newly enthroned Frost Giant King Laofei rested his chin on his hand, sitting proudly on his frost-blue throne.

In terms of stature, he was not the most imposing among the Frost Giants, but he was well-proportioned, with ice-blue Divine Patterns spreading from his chest across his body emitting a strong Divine Power, and his deep blue eyes sparkled with intelligence.

On the stone table beside him, there were the handiworks of the Elf Clan, weapons from the Dwarf Clan, pottery from humans, and goldware from Immortal Palaces. Judging by the smoothness of the items, they were frequently handled.

Clearly, this new Frost Giant King took great interest in the civilizations and cultures of other races, unlike those newly-born Frost Giants who only knew the thrill of "fighting."

And when his gaze swept across Laofei’s cheek, the familiar facial contours made Luo En instantly certain that this Frost Giant King, like Celebrian, Xili, and Rose, was also a "Variable" born from the Great Chorale due to the interaction between his memory and the Power of Destiny.

While Luo En was sizing up his counterpart, King Laofei on the throne was also scrutinizing him.

After a moment, Laofei spoke leisurely:

"You are Loki?" 𝓃𝓸𝓋𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂

Luo En nodded slightly, not attempting to hide his identity.

On both sides of the great hall, over a hundred Frost Giants, all of whom were at the level of Deities or higher, watched the legendary Giant Slayer with wariness like facing a great enemy.

With a slight lift of his hand, Laofei quieted the commotion in the hall, smiling cunningly at the uninvited guests below:

"What brings you to my Jotunheim instead of staying in your Midgard?"

"I heard the Frost Giant Clan has a new king so I came to pay a visit,"

Luo En paused for a moment, then turned the conversation and said,

"By the way, my dear nephew Thor has recently gone missing in Jotunheim; I heard he had been a guest here for some time, and I would like to take him back."

"A guest?"

Hearing this euphemistic phrase, Laofei couldn’t help but snicker coldly,

"He almost destroyed half my city and injured many of my subordinates!"

"Kids, they don’t know how to hold back."

Luo En replied casually, then suggested,

"How about this, once I’ve captured the boy and brought him back to the Immortal Palace, I will ensure his father Odin disciplines him severely. For your losses, I will see to it that Odin compensates you appropriately and promptly."

"Save it, the last few who came to Asgard to settle accounts are still buried there."

Laofei spoke with a cold laugh, while the Giants around him also showed looks of contempt.

During the time Luo En was asleep, the Nordic gods wanted to build a sturdy wall outside Asgard to block the infiltration of Giants. The Giants, disguised as craftsmen, took on this task and cunningly demanded the Sun, the Moon, and the Love Goddess Freya as payment.

The gods agreed not knowing the deceit, setting the condition: the wall must be finished within six months without any helpers other than horses.

Unexpectedly, Svaldirfari turned out to be a divine horse, rapidly transporting stones. As summer approached and the project neared completion within the time limit, the gods realized the craftsmen’s identity and were thrown into panic. Odin, in a moment of desperate wit, transformed into a white mare to seduce Svaldirfari, leaving the Giants without the help they needed to finish the work. The enraged Giants returned to their true forms and accused the gods of deceit.

That’s when Thor raised his Thunder God’s Hammer and led the Asgard Pantheon of Gods in a surprise attack, slaughtering all the Giants present.

With such a precedent, plus a pile of cases where Odin broke his word and played dirty, the Giants were certainly not about to easily trust the credibility of the Asa Divine Race again.

So the lesson is, if you do too many disgraceful things, the consequences will eventually come back to bite you.

Luo En inwardly scolded his Blood Alliance brother, then looked at Laofei helplessly:

"State your terms."

This new Frost Giant King was a smart man, and smart people often excelled at weighing pros and cons.

The fact that Thor had not been killed by Laofei after his mishap could only mean Laofei intended to use Odin’s son to negotiate a better deal for the Frost Giant Clan.

And sure enough.

"Simple. Our Frost Giant Clan holds the greatest respect for the strong. As long as you can pass the three challenges that even Thor failed, this king will grant him his freedom!"

Laofei made his demand, then his tone shifted, and a sinister smile appeared on his face,

"However, everything comes with a price. If you lose, I want you to become my second collection!"
