Chapter 1141: 520 Tiger_1 Chapter 1141: 520 Tiger_1 Esther sat behind the counter drawing designs, when she heard footsteps at the entrance and instinctively looked up.

“Aubree?

Ms.

Martinez?

You’re here.”

Esther immediately put down her pen and walked over with a smile.

Aubree handed the toys and clothes in her hands to Esther: “These are for Alexander.”

Esther took out the clothes and felt them, smiling, “The quality of this clothing is superb, Aubree has good taste, Alexander will definitely like it.”

Aubree smiled, “I don’t actually know much about this.

Kelly selected them.”

Esther looked surprised at Kelly Martinez.

...

Kelly coughed lightly, “I don’t know much either.

Just chosen randomly, as long as Alexander likes them, it’s fine.”

“Please come in, both of you.

I’ll bring Alexander out.

He’ll be so excited to see you.”

As expected, when Esther brought Alexander out, the moment his bright eyes saw Aubree, he excitedly spread his arms out for a hug.

Aubree, laughing, took him and tousled his hair.

Alexander was clutching the Buddhist beads Aubree had given him.

“Alexander loves this string of beads.

He won’t even let go of them in his sleep.

But, interestingly, he hasn’t caused any fuss or troubles since the day he got it.

He has been sleeping very well.” Esther said from the side.

These beads truly have a Buddhanature.

Esther glanced at Aubree, “I thought I had mistaken you for someone else that day at the auction house.

I didn’t expect it was really you, so young yet so accomplished in calligraphy, you are amazing.”

“You flatter me.”

“Don’t be modest.

I heard someone offered one million for your calligraphy, but the auction house didn’t sell.

It’s evident they see great potential in you.”

The work of contemporary calligraphers, unless they are long-deceased masters, rarely goes for anything over a million.

For Aubree, it is indeed a miracle.

It’s clear that the auction house perceives Aubree as a promising talent, subsisting on the idea that the artistic and commercial value of Aubree should not be underestimated.

Aubree’s expression didn’t change at all upon hearing this, she bent her head, playing with Alexander.

Seeing this, Esther admired her secretly.

Such equanimity is quite uncommon.

“By the way, the cheongsam is ready.

Aubree, you could try it on.

If anything is not fitting correctly, I can adjust it.”

Aubree handed the child to Kelly; Kelly slightly fumbled as she took Alexander.

Aubree smiled at her, “Kelly, could you please watch Alexander for a bit, while I try on the clothes?”

With Kelly holding him, Alexander was restless, wriggling like he had ADHD – one careless moment, and he slipped out of her arms like an eel, dropping onto the floor, wobbling towards the door.

“Alexander…” Kelly exclaimed in fright, rushing to him.

The sound of Esther’s laughter could be heard from behind, “Ms.

Martinez, just let him be.

A child has to stumble a few times when learning how to walk.”

Kelly wiped the cold sweat off of her forehead, “You’re right.”

Esther set off with Aubree, “With Ms.

Martinez watching over him, I feel relieved.

Let’s go try on the clothes.”

Leaning on the door frame, Alexander stared at the stairs in front of him, his cute little eyebrows gathered in hesitation.

Kelly encouraged him from the side, “Alexander, don’t be afraid.

Step bravely forward, Mom…Auntie will protect you.”

Alexander turned his head and let out a chuckling sound, tipping his head to the side.

Then he decisively took his first step, his small body wobbly.

Kelly hovered over him, her heart in her throat.

Fortunately, with much ado, he safely made it onto the floor.

Alexander looked up at Kelly, his expression triumphant as if to say, aren’t I great?

Kelly gave him a thumbs-up, “Alexander, you’re the best! 𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙥𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝙤𝒎

Auntie is proud of you.”

Alexander let out a clear chuckle, his smile pure, as if it could wash away all the filth and troubles in the world.

Kelly’s eyes welled up as she watched.

Alexander walked up to her, his little hand touching Kelly’s face, speaking distinct, crisp words, “No cry.”

Kelly smiled, “Okay, Auntie won’t cry.”

This was a very heartwarming scene but it was interrupted by an incoming call on the cellphone.

Kelly pulled out her phone from her pocket, took a glance at the caller ID, she cursed, “Shit,” and looked at Alexander.

This alley was very quiet and seldom had people passing by, so Kelly answered the call, her eyes never leaving Alexander.

“What’s up?

I’m busy.”

“Busy acting out an intimate mother and son scene with your child?”
