Chapter 1222: 547 Precious Sword (Second Revision)_3 Chapter 1222: 547 Precious Sword (Second Revision)_3 Night Hawk glanced at Draco Fergus, who understood and gave Belen Philbert a pill.
This thing was exclusive to the WT Organization, called the truth revealing pill.
In special cases, it could make the criminals tell the truth.
It was a special method of interrogation.
“How did Rafferty die?”
Rafferty was Virginia Frost’s personal assistant and bodyguard before Belen Philbert.
He was from the WT Organization, and regardless of ability or means, he exceeded Belen Philbert by leaps.
However, one day, this Rafferty simply disappeared, neither seen alive nor found dead.
...
Then, Belen Philbert became the person by Virginia’s side.
Belen Philbert was in a trance and spoke honestly, “I don’t know.
By the time I started serving Madam, he was already gone.”
After a pause, Belen Philbert added, “Once, I heard Madam make a phone call.
She called out Rafferty’s name.
I think Rafferty didn’t die. n𝚘𝚟𝚙u𝚋.co𝚖
He was just dispatched by Madam to conduct some secret tasks.
That’s all I know.”
“A secret task?”
“Yes, Madam frequented Whitehead Mountain for a period of time.
It was there that she met Aubree Groove.”
Night Hawk narrowed his eyes, “Map.”
Draco Fergus quickly walked over with a map.
Night Hawk spread open the map, looking for the location of Whitehead Mountain.
Whitehead Mountain is a small stretch at the southernmost end of the Everly Mountain Range, seemingly insignificant amongst the entire range.
Yet, the deep canyons stretching from the east to the west of Whitehead Mountain resembled a natural barrier.
Nestled within, Whitehead Mountain was like a king protected by two formations akin to knights.
Night Hawk studied the map closely.
The range to the east was Breeze Mountain, and to the west was Skyla Mountain, both unremarkable amongst the undulating Everly Mountain Range.
He thought of the two mountain peaks across the top of Silent Moon Temple, barely visible in the dense fog of the mountain.
Whitehead Mountain was severed from the world on the other side of the two deep gorges.
To reach Breeze Mountain on the other side, one would either have to traverse the impossible canyons or circle the entire Everly Mountain Range – a journey spanning more than two thousand kilometers, through five provinces.
This illustrated just how unbridgeable the gap was.
Night Hawk pondered, then ordered, “Send someone to Whitehead Mountain to look for Rafferty’s whereabouts.
If nothing turns up there…”
Night Hawk pointed to Breeze Mountain on the map, “Then search here.”
Night Hawk’s eyes were heavy.
How much has Virginia Frost concealed from him?
Soul Departure Jade, Callista…
These were laughably ludicrous words, yet for some reason, they provoked doubt in his heart.
He clenched his fist at the thought of those eyes, so much like Callista’s.
He had to figure all of this out.
——
“You were gone for too long.
What happened?” Asked a worried Peter Aria.
“Ran into an old friend, had a few words,” Aubree Groove replied, handing him some digestive pills.
“Take four orally.”
Just as Peter shoved the pills into his mouth, Mico Wood rushed through the office door, exclaiming, “Director, it’s urgent.
The patient in bed 18’s blood pressure has plummeted dramatically.
Please take a look.”
The patient in bed 18 was Anton Cook.
Peter Aria didn’t even have time to take a sip of water before he rushed off.
Throughout the day, Anton Cook continuously tested Peter Aria’s mental stability, pushing him to the edge.
Peter Aria, enduring the pressure, repeatedly snatched Anton from the jaws of death.
Aubree Groove stood outside the ICU, watching through the glass doors as Peter Aria was resuscitating Anton Cook.
Subconsciously, he reached up and touched the jade pendant around his neck.
