Chapter 1504: 674 Helpless_1 Chapter 1504: 674 Helpless_1 The sun was shining brightly as two planes landed simultaneously at the largest airstrip in Inracetales.

“What kind of esteemed guest warrants the personal reception of General Nando himself?

How unusual.” Allegro Kent sneered at the man beside him, grinning mischievously.

Nando didn’t respond, but Atton Rowney whispered softly, “General, they’ve arrived.”

Nando briskly walked towards one of the planes.

As the boarding stairs descended, four bodyguards emerged, followed by a middle-aged man dressed in a suit.

The man was handsome, with a refined aura.

Despite the smile in his eyes, his commanding presence, possessed only by those of high status, induced respect.

...

“Mr.

Cook, I’ve heard much of your fame.

It’s a pleasure to finally meet.”

The men exchanged pleasantries warmly yet respectfully, akin to long lost friends.

Nando’s attention was drawn to a young man who stepped out next.

He didn’t follow the entertainment circle but found this young man incredibly attractive and couldn’t help but take several more glances.

“And this would be…?”

Cello Cook gestured and said with a smile, “Sullivan, come here.”

“This is my brother, Anton.

He was getting bored at home, so I brought him along to broaden his horizons.

Sullivan, this is General Nando.”

The young man bore a striking resemblance to Cello Cook, but while Cello was warm and imposing, this young man was indifferent and cold, reminiscent of a distant iceberg that held no warmth under the sun.

Upon hearing the introduction, Anton Cook merely nodded slightly, showing neither enthusiasm nor contempt, and said, “General Nando, I am Anton Cook.”

Nando smiled, admiring, “Such a fine young man.”

Subsequently, two young men dressed as guards came out, attracting a few more glances from Nando.

He thought to himself that the people of Jimenez possessed excellent genes, even their guards were exceptionally handsome.

From a distance, a sharp complaint from a woman’s voice drew their attention.

The guest whom Allegro Kent was welcoming was a middle-aged woman in a watermelon-red suit.

A long line of attendants carrying suitcases trailed behind her, creating quite the spectacle from afar.

A secretary walked by her side, holding an umbrella to shield her from the sun.

The woman complained, “The air is so dry here.

The wind has cracked my skin.

What sort of place is this?”

Allegro Kent wore a polite smile next to her.

The woman, known as Rainbow Lady, was from Burnette, notorious for being demanding and preferred brightly coloured suits.

She glanced over at Cello Cook, snorted disdainfully, and walked away in her high heels.

Nando accompanied Cello Cook and the rest to their hotel and allocated a team of guards for their security before departing.

The entire top floor was reserved for them.

Guards were stationed in the elevator and at the entrance of the building around the clock, on high alert for any potential threats.

Inside the main suite, one of the young guards was scanning every hidden corner with a device, while the other thoroughly inspected the electronic equipment in the room.

After a while, they shared a glance.

Madon Linggo walked up to Cello Cook, “Mr.

Cook, we’ve checked everything.

It’s safe for you to stay.”

Cello Cook nodded, “Thank you for your effort.”

“It’s merely our duty, sir.”

The other guard walked over and handed a dragon-shaped antique-colored ring to Cello Cook.

“Press the dragon’s head here, it will spit out a metal bead.

Its lethality is comparable to a bullet and could serve as your self-defence weapon in an emergency.”

Cello Cook put the ring on his thumb.

It fit perfectly. 𝚗𝚘v𝚙𝚞b.𝚌𝚘m

“Thank you for your concern,” he said.

With an androgynous face, the guard smiled, her eyes brimming with concealed sharpness.

“It’s better to be safe than sorry when we’re in a foreign land,” she said.

Cello Cook looked at her seriously, “Ms.

Martinez, I’d like you to mainly focus on ensuring Sullivan’s safety.

As long as he is safe, I can be at ease.”

“Do not worry, Mr.

Cook.

I’ve already made secure arrangements for Mr.

Cook.

There will be no problems.”

Madon Linggo and Kelly Martinez left Cello Cook’s room.

Madon Linggo frowned, “I have a bad feeling about this trip.

These days, we must ensure the safety of Mr.

Cook and young Mr.

Cook.

We cannot allow any harm to come to them.”

Kelly Martinez crossed her arms and wore a listless expression, “We’re practically delivering ourselves into the lion’s den.

There’s no point talking about these things now, is there?”

Madon Linggo shot her a cold glance, “I know you used to be under Virginia Frost.

Capable people often disobey, but remember, you’re under my command now.

You must obey orders and not act rashly.

Otherwise, you can get lost right now.”

Kelly Martinez casually cleared her ears, “Get it straight.

It’s not me who begged to come here, Mr.

Cook invited me.

Why don’t you tell all this to Mr.

Cook?

If he agrees, I’ll pack my bags and leave immediately.”

Madon Linggo was speechless with anger, “You’re simply…”

No wonder Virginia Frost silenced her initially.

Her defiant nature would give any leader a headache.

Kelly Martinez glanced at him: “Sergeant Linggo, I know you don’t like me, but we should pick our battles, right?

What benefits does internal strife bring to you, me, or Mr.

Cook?

Think about it yourself.”

Kelly Martinez didn’t say another word and turned to leave.

Arriving at the door of Anton Cook’s room, she lifted her hand and knocked.

The door was quickly opened from inside.

Anton Cook had changed into casual clothes, his hair still damp, beads of sweat clinging to his cheeks, and his handsome features exuding a commanding aura.

Kelly Martinez’s eyes brightened, resisting the urge to fluff up as she waved the device in her hand with a broad smile: “Just to be safe, I’m going to check your room.”

Anton Cook nodded, stepped aside and let her in.

Kelly Martinez wielded the device around every corner of the room while casting a glance at the open notebook on the desk, filled with symbols she didn’t quite understand, but she knew he was in the process of creating.

Thinking about his work overseas, it is no wonder he is the most promising and accomplished musician.

Anton Cook walked to the kitchen counter, picked up a bottle of mineral water, unscrewed it, and was about to drink.

Kelly Martinez hurriedly stopped him: “Mr.

Cook.”

Anton Cook looked at her, “What’s wrong?”

Kelly Martinez took the mineral water bottle, then pulled out a silver needle wrapped in cloth from her bosom.

The silver needle was dipped into the water and she watched closely; the silver needle didn’t change color, she then handed the mineral water to Anton Cook.

“It’s okay, you can drink.”

Anton Cook stared at the silver needle in her hand.

Kelly Martinez put the silver needle away, smiled and said: “This silver needle has been soaked in a special solution that can detect ninety-nine point nine percent of all toxins and narcotic drugs in the world.

When you’re away from home, it’s best to be careful.”

Anton Cook pursed his lips, and while his eyes brightened for a moment, they quickly dimmed again.

He camouflaged his emotions well, but was Kelly Martinez a common person?

She had developed a keen eye for detail; Anton Cook must have thought of Aubree Groove just then.

Indeed, the formula for the solution was given to her by Aubree Groove for emergency use.

This guy claims to have lost his memory, but who is he fooling?

Anton Cook was not a person who likes to join such events.

Yet, he insisted on following this trip to Percival.

Did he know something?

“Get some rest early.

I’ll be right outside the door if you need anything.”

Kelly Martinez walked to the door and looked back instinctively as she closed it.

Anton Cook was standing there, looking lonely and miserable.

As the saying goes, it pains you to see a man’s lifelong misfortune, but at that moment, Kelly Martinez couldn’t help but feel a little sorry for him.

Most men in the world are fickle and ungrateful when they get what they want.

Kelly Martinez’s judgment of men isn’t all that great, but observing Anton Cook over such a long span of time, she concluded that he and Aubree Groove were truly star-crossed lovers.

The fact that he could block the bullet for Aubree Groove without hesitation already put him ahead of ninety-nine percent of all men in the world.

He knew that Aubree Groove did not like him, so he didn’t bother her after her injury healed.

He even paid the media and marketers to remove all the gossip about him and Aubree Groove.

People would think that he had completely let go.

Only Kelly Martinez knew that he could never let go – not in this lifetime.

Everything he wanted to say, all the love he concealed, were in that song.

The fans couldn’t fathom it, and the music critics only focused on the technical aspects of the song.

No one knew how much love, hatred, and helplessness were hidden within.

But when she thought about the bullet in Callista’s chest – the bullet fired by Anton Cook – she couldn’t help but seethe with anger.

Damn it, why should she feel sorry for him?

In essence, all of this was what he owed to Callista.

——

Three days before the coronation ceremony.

Aspen frequently loitered around the Holy Temple, only to be chased away by the Silver Armor Guard every time.

Aspen cursed as he walked away.

He had asked around every street and alley in Inracetales these days.

This Saintess was too mysterious; there were no audio or video clips circulating, and she lived in the Holy Temple.

She hadn’t stepped out of the Temple since she first appeared in March.

Her prestige in the hearts of the people of Percival was even surpassing the Holy Master who had been in power for ten years.

He once spoke ill of the Saintess and the people chased after him, hitting him.

He still had injuries on his face.

He didn’t believe it – there was no way he was not catching her leaving.
