And as the Seminar Festival that began in the morning approached evening—
"Alriiiight! Now for today's final and biggest main event! Let's get started, shall weee~~?! It's time for the Team Battle Flygear Raceee!"
Standing atop a Flygear Carrier, Principal Miliera cheerfully called out to the audience.
"Ooooooohhhhhh!"
"We've been waiting for this!"
"This looks exciting…! Never seen anything like it!"
"Yes! I'm sure it'll be exciting! Now, everyone, make your predictions and place your bets on which team will win! Let's get this party going!"
The surface of Vault Lake, where Inglis and her team had performed their first formation flight, was brilliantly illuminated by the same lights, now creating a dazzling spectacle.
"Now then, now then! Let’s introduce our participating teams! First up, the First-Year Team from the Knight Academy!"
The first team introduced was Inglis’ group. Their team consisted of Inglis, Rafinha, Leone, Liselotte, and Meltina. All five of them stepped forward to show their faces to the audience.
"Ah, that's the girl who was crazy strong in the arm-wrestling earlier!"
"There's also that girl who was singing at the beginning!"
"They seem pretty strong. But since they’re first-years, they're in the lowest grade, right?"
"Okay! Next up, the Second-Year Team!"
After Inglis’ group stepped back, the team led by Yua, consisting of five second-year students, stepped forward.
"Yua, Yua! Wake up, don’t fall asleep…!"
"Huh? But it's already sleep time… Healthy living is all about good habits…"
"D-Don’t fall asleep, Yuaaa! Ah, without Maurice…"
The second-year students around Yua were struggling to keep her awake, as she was practically dozing off right there on the stage.
"That girl was super strong in arm-wrestling too."
"But she's practically asleep. With that, racing might be tough."
"Alright, next up is the Third-Year Team!"
The third-year team was led by Silva, consisting of five members.
"I do think it's a bit improper to make a spectacle out of our daily training results for gambling purposes… But since we're participating, we shall give it our all."
Silva adjusted his glasses as he spoke, standing confidently on the stage.
"Oh, he's got a Special Grade Rune! So, he's a future Holy Knight, huh…!?"
"But, there was a girl from the first-year team with Special Grade Rune, too."
"Then, I guess we can’t say for sure who’s got the advantage."
Principal Miliera continued with the introductions.
"Alright, next up is the Knight Academy Instructors’ Team!"
"Good grief. Being dragged into something like this… The life of an instructor sure isn’t easy."
"Is that so? I find this quite enjoyable. Ross, are you feeling unwell?"
"Heh… I haven't slept because I’ve been busy with preparations."
"Hahahahaha! Gentlemen! Today, we’ll show everyone the pride of being their instructors!"
The members of the instructor team include Rochefort, Arle, and Instructor Margus.
"Huh? There are only three of them?"
"Is that a handicap or something?"
The audience murmured, puzzled by the number of instructors.
"And the fourth member is me! I may be the principal, but today, I'll show you I can still do things properly!"
It seemed Principal Miliera was planning to participate in the race herself.
"Alright! Next up is… the Royal Guard Team!"
"Hahahahaha! We regularly use flygears for our duties, and we never neglect our training! We shall prove our worth here today!"
Redas stepped forward with a bold declaration.
"Whoa, that’s amazing! Even members of the Royal Guard are participating!"
"This is gonna be exciting, but…"
"They got utterly destroyed by that silver-haired first-year girl in arm wrestling, though. Well, I guess piloting flygears is a different skill altogether."
"And now, for the final team! Led by Sir Raphael and Lady Ripple, it’s the Holy Knights Team!"
“ “ “ “Ooooohhhhh!!” ” ” ”
The loudest cheer of all erupted from the audience.
"To think I can see a Holy Knight in action with my own eyes!"
"Kyaaah! Sir Raphael!"
"Please look over here! Kyaaah! Our eyes met!"
Shrill voices rose from the crowd.
"Haha… I-I’ll do my best…"
Raphael raised his hand timidly in response to the cheers.
"We can even see Lady Ripple in action!"
"Yeah, I’m really looking forward to this. And as expected, the Hyrule Menace is just stunning."
"It would've been even better if Lady Eris was with them, but I guess that’s asking too much!"
Ripple seemed to be quite popular among the men, too.
"Lady Ripple! Good luck!"
"Yes~! I’ll do my best! Cheer for me~!"
With a cheerful smile, Ripple responded to the enthusiastic shouts.
Both the Holy Knights and the Hyrule Menace were considered guardians who had protected everyone from the menace of the strongest Magic Stone Beast, Prisma.
The crowd’s adoration and respect reflected just how much they were cherished by the people.
Seeing the audience’s reaction, Principal Miliera looked satisfied.
"Yes, yes, yes. I’m so glad we managed to get Raphael and Ripple to join us, even though I had to push a little. Now then, everyone~! That concludes the team introductions! And next, let’s go over the race course! Please direct your attention toward the center of Vault Lake~!"
Principal Miliera pointed toward the central island of the lake. It was a fragment of the Highland territory, Illuminus, which had only recently been transported to Vault Lake.
Although the destroyed Illuminus still retained its core, the ‘Levitation Magic Formation,’ it had lost its power and could no longer rise back into the sky, leaving it permanently fixed in the lake.
The Sarcophagus of Greyfriar, which currently houses Eris, was also located there.
Splashhhhh!!!
From beneath the waters near Illuminus, a massive shadow burst forth. It was a colossal dragon, more than half of its body constructed from machinery resembling Flygears and Flygear Carriers.
"Whoooa! What’s that!?"
"Awesome! That looks so cool!"
They were Mecha Dragons, the defensive weapons of Illuminus. About three of them emerged. The sheer size of the Mecha Dragons and their overwhelming appearance stirred the audience into excitement.
