Chapter 702 - 702
Right after the duel to death between Raon and Roman.
Glenn watched Raon, who was taking Roman to the riverside, with trembling fingers.
'You did it.'
Raon had proudly emerged victorious, just like he'd declared at the lake in the annex building. Glenn was overwhelmed with emotions for the first time after Aries's birth.
"Huhuhu!" Roenn was laughing happily while watching Raon. "Young Master Raon will become even stronger." He nodded, implying that he was looking forward to the future even more.
"I'm also moved." Federick sighed deeply as well, looking at Raon. "He was a fragile baby who seemed unlikely to survive, let alone become a warrior, yet he grew up so remarkably." He smiled gently, thinking about Raon as a baby in Sylvia's arms.
"It must be nice." Federick tapped Glenn's shoulder with his elbow. "You can officially call him your grandson now. Sylvia is your daughter once again as well."
"Ahem..." Glenn turned his head, curling his trembling lips into a smile.
'Yes. I don't need to worry anymore.'
The fact that he could care for his grandson without worrying about other people's gazes made his heart pound to the point of bursting.
"But before then..." Federick narrowed his eyes while looking around the surrounding area. "Is the man using the energy of death really around here?"
"He is." Glenn nodded. "I can't exactly locate him, but he is definitely hiding around here." He nodded, saying that an extremely concealed presence was moving.
Roman died while standing soon after, and the South-North Union's party bosses following Roman revolted against their vice leader, saying that Raon should be allowed to leave.
'They weren't trash.'
While Glenn was thinking that he should spare their lives because he was satisfied with their behavior, a dark shadow appeared.
"I'm setting out."
Glenn executed the Supreme Harmony Steps toward the swordsman using the energy of death, who had threatened Raon's life before. His sword, engulfed in wrath, fell like lightning.
* * *
"Die under that name, huh...?" The swordsman wearing the blue dragon helmet chuckled quietly while stroking the scales embedded in his cheek. "It looks like you've encountered the real Heavenly Demon before."
He licked his lips while meeting Glenn's red eyes. "I didn't discover information about a meeting between the Lightning God and the Heavenly Demon. What happened?" The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet narrowed his eyes, saying that he'd received a great piece of information.
"Federick." Glenn ignored the swordsman in the blue dragon helmet and called Federick's name.
"I know." Federick went to Raon, who Rimmer was carrying on his back, and examined his condition. "He never fails to surprise me. His wounds are regenerating on their own. What is he, a troll...?" He gasped, exclaiming that Raon possessed a supernatural regeneration ability.
'I'm glad to hear that.'
Glenn briefly nodded. He was worried about Raon because he was so severely wounded both in and out, but if he'd started to regenerate by himself, it shouldn't leave any serious aftereffects.
"You came here personally with the Ragged Saint. You must cherish your grandson a lot." The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet dragged out his words, as if he were trying to provoke Glenn.
"Let's stop the useless talk and get straight to the point." Glenn unleashed the red lightning on Heavenly Tremor. The sphere of lightning energy blazing at the tip of the blade twisted the space with its spark.
"Ah, wait a moment!" The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet casually shook his hand. "Just wait a moment, because someone is coming, and I have something to show you. You will regret it if we start fighting right now." He maintained his relaxed smile even in front of Glenn.
"..."
Glenn furrowed his brow while looking at the glimmering blue light from the eyes inside the dragon helmet.
'Who the hell is he?'
His nature was different from anyone else Glenn had encountered so far.
He'd been suspicious of someone, but the atmosphere around the swordsman in the blue dragon helmet was so different that he couldn't help but think that it was a completely new person.
'Someone with such power is only revealing himself now...'
The man in the blue dragon helmet's pressure could suppress the leaders of the Six Kings and the Five Demons even though he wasn't even showing his full power. Glenn had the feeling that even the Holy Sword Alliance Master would be unable to win against him without activating the holy sword.
'I can't underestimate him.'
It wasn't that he felt like he was going to lose, but since something unexpected could happen, he decided to finish him off with all his strength.
"It doesn't matter who is coming. I'll never regret it."
"Ah, he's here."
It was when Glenn was about to unleash his strike at the man in the blue dragon helmet...
Rumble!
The entirety of the Rable River trembled as a ship even larger than Misfortune surfaced from the depths. It was the Blue Wolf, the South-North Union's first warship.
Rumble!
As the Blue Wolf emerged while completely destroying the flow of water, a red-haired young man stood at the bow with his hands clasped behind him.
The young man exuded a noble aura, as if he alone would shine amidst the darkness. He curled his lips into a deep smile while looking down at Glenn.
He approached the riverside, stepping into the air as if he were walking on land. With his upper body bare, his shoulders were draped with a water dragon coat over his shoulders. His rock-solid abdominal muscles were marked by a long, deep scar.
His face looked as young as Raon's, but the pressure emanating from him was grand enough to cover the entire Rable River.
The red-haired man stood in front of Glenn, engulfed in a violent yet noble pressure. The lightning unleashed from Heavenly Tremor scattered like a mist in front of him.
"Dranos..."
Sheryl bit her lip while looking at the young man standing in front of Glenn.
The man with a youthful appearance was the South-North Union's leader, Dranos, who had conquered the continent's waterway by uniting all the pirates in the Rable River and the bandits in the Terukan Mountains.
"Long time no see, Destructive King of the North." Dranos twisted his lips into a smile while meeting Glenn's red eyes. "Is this the first time we've seen each other since the Destruction King of the North became your name?" He smiled while stroking the scar on his chest.
"Haa..." Dranos nodded his head at Glenn, then walked up to Roman. "What a shame. He was useful in many ways."
He briefly clicked his tongue and closed Roman's glaring eyes. "I honestly didn't expect Roman to lose. It must be nice to have such a good grandson."
"Dranos. Did you come here because you wanted to die?" Glenn wasn't surprised by the appearance of the South-North Union's leader. The calm glow of his red eyes implied that he was expecting his arrival.
"No, I'm here because of Raon Zieghart over there." Dranos shook his head. "Because that astounding grandson of yours caused too much damage to us." He brought up the matters about the marine marketplace and Roman while raising his fingers one after the other. "And you are going to die because of your grandson."
A blue torrent surged from Dranos's calm eyes.
"Do you trust that trash?" Glenn's eyes shifted towards the man in the dragon helmet. "Even with the two of you..."
"Two?" The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet chuckled. "Unfortunately for you, it's not just the two of us."
He lifted his finger to point at the sky, and the dark sky shattered like a fragile glass pane.
Spark!
A red sun rose from the fissure in the air, removing the darkness. The holy radiance gushing out from it returned the day to the entire Rable River.
In the midst of the distorted constellation, a man wearing a mask of an unearthly handsome face manifested into the world. The brilliant glow of the angel wings and demon's horn engraved on his gray outfit seemed almost alive.
With a bewitching presence, the man who appeared was the Fallen, a supernatural being praised by the heavens, whose very existence made the land wail in anguish.
"The Fallen..." Glenn furrowed his brow while looking at the Fallen. The mana engulfing the Fallen was wavering even more profoundly than before. He could guess that the Fallen had gotten stronger as well.
"It's been a while." The Fallen lowered his head at Glenn politely.
"I didn't anticipate your arrival."
"The same goes for me. But there was an issue that left me with no other choice than to come here."
"Was there an issue?"
"Yes, your grandson caused some trouble." His gaze shifted towards Raon's face. "He conspired with my subordinate and leaked lots of important information from the Five Demons. There were so many complaints because of that."
The Fallen casually shook his hand. "And we have someone who is infuriated because they were severely affected."
He gently curled his lips into a smile, while looking at the man wearing a black robe, who was standing behind him with trembling shoulders.
"By the way, you shouldn't borrow the Heavenly Demon's name." The Fallen furrowed his brow slightly while looking at the swordsman in the dragon helmet.
"I thought it'd be fun." The swordsman in the dragon helmet put his hands together and playfully lowered his head.
"The Heavenly Demon is quite different from what you are think—"
"Ah, save the nagging for later. Because I have even more to show him for now." He snapped his fingers, standing in front of Glenn once again.
Whir!
A blue spear materialized from the thin air and towering, straight ramparts came into view.
"Z-Zieghart?"
Burren gasped while looking at the ramparts. The ramparts showing inside the window created by the dragon helmet guy were Zieghart's outer walls.
"What is he even trying to do...?"
Federick was examining Raon, but his lips trembled in surprise. That was when a red and blue radiance fell like a meteor shower upon the ramparts.
Whaaam!
The aura barrier protecting the ramparts materialized, but it couldn't withstand the powerful wave of mana and was shattered into pieces.
The ramparts that once looked indestructible were destroyed, and countless warriors wearing white robes showed themselves in front of them. It was the White Blood Religion's fanatics.
They weren't the only ones. The blue and red demons from Eden, along with their executives wearing helmets and masks, were among them. Assassins with their faces covered by masks joined in the attack as well.
"I would've liked to bring the White Blood Religion's leader here with us..." The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet shook his head while chuckling. "She only dispatched them, saying that she was in the middle of recovery."
He twisted his lips into a smile while watching the bloody demons dashing toward the destroyed ramparts.
"How impatient. They must still hold a grudge against you after you attacked their headquarters." The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet shrugged his shoulders. "What are you going to do? Are you going to stay here? Or are you going to return—"
"Hah!"
While he was lowering his gaze to see the distorted faces of Zieghart's swordsmen, a chuckling sound could be heard.
"He is seriously a nutcase." Rimmer giggled while looking at the unconscious Raon. "How come everything he said is coming true?"
"I know, right? Did he see the future or something?" Sheryl also shook her head in disbelief.
"What are you talking about?" The voice coming from the dragon helmet trembled faintly. "Did the despair drive you to insanity?"
"Yes, you are right about insanity. But it's not about me, it's him." Rimmer pointed at Raon while laughing at him. "Because my disciple already predicted your arrival, and the attack on Zieghart."
"He predicted that another faction would arrive instead of Eden, but the scale is similar in the end." Sheryl nodded with a calm look in her eyes.
"..." Glenn was also looking at Raon, showing that he was proud of him.
"The Heavenly Blade Division and the Warring Steel Division will block the path here. The Light Wind Division shall escape with Raon." He quickly gave out the orders and blocked the path of the swordsman wearing the dragon helmet.
"Yes."
"Huhuhu."
"Understood!"
Sheryl, Roenn, and Trevin unsheathed their swords, positioning themselves behind Glenn's back.
"Dorian!" Rimmer shouted.
"Yes!"
Dorian ran to the shore and put his hand into the belly pocket. He took out a ship that looked like it would easily glide with the wind and placed it onto the river.
"Huh...?"
"Wh-why did a ship just appear?"
"A ship just appeared from his belly!?"
The pirates gasped upon witnessing the ship emerging from his belly pocket.
"Let's go!"
As soon as the Light Wind Division boarded the ship, Rimmer unleashed the Garunua to push the ship. The sails stretched tightly, as if a storm were blowing, and the ship advanced at a tremendous speed.
"Follow them," the swordsman in the blue dragon helmet murmured, and the masked men behind him started to move.
"You should go as well. Kill Raon Zieghart," the South-North Union's leader ordered, and the party bosses moved on the Blue Wolf.
Whaam!
As for Eden's side, the demons started to move, led by the man in a black robe even though the Fallen didn't say anything.
Whaaam!
Glenn shook his hand and lightning struck to stop the warriors from Eden, the Shadow, and the South-North Union.
"Where do you think you are going?"
"Hmm..." The swordsman in the blue dragon helmet tilted his head while facing Glenn. "Are you really trying to stop them? You will be annihilated if you fight like this."
"I already told you." Glenn calmly raised his gaze. "We were expecting your plans." He gestured with his chin while looking behind him.
"Come out if you're done watching," Glenn quietly murmured, and a large hat appeared from behind him.
"Kill them all!" the tenth apostle shouted, and the White Blood Religion's bloody demons jumped over the destroyed ramparts.
The rage from the assault on their headquarters remained in their blurry eyes.
"Everyone, prepare for battle!" External Commander Illiune ordered, and the warriors at the outer walls unsheathed their swords and stepped forward.
Whaam!
The tenth apostle clashed head-on against Illiune. The sword and spear in their hands clashed against each other with the intent to take away their enemy's life, sending blue sparks flying.
"How dare you attack Zieghart! Were you driven to madness from drinking too much blood?" Illiune twisted his lips while glaring at the tenth apostle.
"Zieghart is nothing but a sitting duck without the Destructive King of the North." The tenth apostle bit his lip, showing an unusually turbulent emotion. "Moreover, you were the ones to attack us first."
His eyes glimmered frighteningly. He seemed to be thinking about when Glenn and Raon had attacked their religion's headquarters.
"You are overestimating yourselves! Even without our lord, it's impossible for you to defeat us!" Illiune turned his head while pushing back the tenth apostle's spear. "You will be stopped here! You won't even reach the inner walls!"
"I never said that we are the only ones." The tenth apostle shook his head while looking at Illiune's unwavering eyes. "I'm not even the one in command."
He sneered, and two apostles came onto the ramparts at the same time.
They were a man with a pale face and a tall woman with bronze-colored skin. They were among the strongest in the White Blood Religion, holding the titles of the first and second apostles.
"First apostle!"
Illiune swallowed nervously. The first apostle was clearly in the Transcender's realm, and while the second apostle had lots of fluctuations, she was still powerful enough to match a Transcender.
Moreover, Eden's executives and masked people with unknown identities were waiting behind the White Blood Religion's fanatics. It was only a matter of time before they would be breached.
"There's no reason to waste any time. Cause as much damage as possible and return."
The first apostle charged at him, white blood energy erupting from his body. He brought his fingers together and swiftly struck at Illiune's head. Illiune's shoulders trembled as the shockwave made it feel like the very sky was shattering.
Claaang!
It was a single strike. Even though he'd only blocked a single strike, his sword was broken and embedded in the ground. The difference in power was overwhelming.
Whoosh!
The first apostle's lowered hand rapidly changed direction and surged upwards. There was no way to defend against it.
"Kuh..."
Illiune bit his lip and lifted his broken sword.
Cring!
A long fissure was created into the space and a red blade emerged.
Claaang!
The first apostle looked like he had the absolute advantage, but he stepped back from the clash.
"Kuh..."
He bit his lip in disbelief while looking at the fissure in the air.
"Instead of the kids..." The refreshing scent of the sea spread out from the fissured space. Aries broke into a cool smile, pushing back her sunset-colored hair. "How about you have some fun with me."
"Why are you here...?"
"I had no other choice since it was my cute, lovely nephew's request." Aries beckoned with her finger using the hand holding her sword, her cheeks flushed red. "I'll engrave in your bones the lesson about how foolish it was to attack Zieghart."
Aries suddenly disappeared and reappeared in front of the first apostle, swinging her sword down.
"You were the ones who started it!"
The first apostle raised his hand, determined to defeat her.
Whaaam!
The sword cutting through the space and the hand engulfed in blazing bloody energy collided, creating fissures on the land in the shape of a spiderweb.
