Neraxis dusted himself off as he stared at the sight ahead.
There were several black, figureless beings lying on the floor, covered in their black, black blood. Of course, it hadn’t taken him much effort to kill them all, simply because his sword was just that sharp.
But perhaps it was also the fact that his skills seemed a bit more powerful than the last time he used them.
I guess they scale with my stats, so it makes sense, Neraxis pondered with a hum as he proceeded to head to another area.
And of course, he encountered two monsters not even a minute later.
One was pale white, while the other, pitch black.
They looked like deer; however, Neraxis could sense this foreboding feeling—where if he were to attack them right now, he’d have some trouble.
Yet as he inspected them, he couldn’t help but feel confused.
—Pori (Level 25) [Elite]
—Dori (Level 25) [Elite]
Elites? Neraxis raised a brow. That’s a new one. I wonder... just how much stronger are they?
Even so, despite his senses telling him to back off, he went ahead and slowly approached.
Not even a moment later, both the deer turned to him. It was clear that they had smelled him, or detected him in some other way.
But now, his plan of killing them quietly went out the window.
Dragging his new sword across the grass, Neraxis kicked off the ground, reappearing right in front of the white deer, Dori.
Neraxis expected to finish this fight in a single, full-powered stab. And he did exactly that
[MP -500 820/1,320 (Atomic Stab)]
However, as the stab twisted the air, threatening to kill the deer in an instant—
And yet, almost as if into a void, Neraxis’s stab simply went inside the deer before coming out the other end.
No blood. Not even a single wound.
And right as he was about to question what was going on, he felt a certain force heading up his sword and into his arm.
[HP -273! 367/610]
Neraxis’s eyes widened, and before he could process what was happening, the other deer, Pori, ran over to him and kicked him straight in the chest.
[HP -89! 278/610]
He skidded backward and slammed against the tree. His injuries were not severe; instead, they were all internal.
Did it manage to somehow redirect my attack? Neraxis pondered warily.
He had struck, and the strike had most definitely connected. And yet, when his blade passed through the deer fully, he was met with a damage number that resembled the amount of damage he’d deal with his skill.
That was when Neraxis finally realized something.
So skills don’t work on Dori, but if I do regular attacks, then maybe...? Neraxis thought as he jumped up onto a tree and basked in the sunlight.
Then, his injuries began healing themselves at the rate of 50 HP per second until eventually, he was ready to go back down.
Neraxis jumped down and went straight for Pori, who, upon noticing him, tried to evade.
Yet Neraxis wasn’t that slow, as he went ahead and tried to slash normally at Pori.
Like with Dori, his blade went through it, and then...
[HP -155! 455/610]
Despite the slight pain he was in, Neraxis had a grin on his face.
After all, he had just figured them out.
To damage Dori, Neraxis had to use normal attacks, and to damage Pori, he had to use skills.
It was much simpler than he had expected, yet it took a little bit of trial and error.
Either way. They’re fucked now, Neraxis thought, and in the very next moment, dashed toward Dori.
It seemed confident, as if Neraxis couldn’t do anything to it.
And yet, when his blade traveled nearer and nearer toward its neck, Dori recoiled.
It tried to dodge by taking a few steps back; however, Neraxis had already adjusted his stance for any evasion.
He placed his feet firmly on the ground, and then once again kicked off—just this time, with much more power.
Neraxis arrived right before Dori, and before it could do anything, he slashed vertically.
He felt the cut, and didn’t bother to continue dealing with Dori as he turned back around to face Pori.
It was charging at him full speed, attempting to ram into him with its antlers.
Yet, just as Pori reached him, Neraxis ducked under its body, and with a single Advanced Horizontal Slash, cut off all its limbs.
[MP -100 720/1,320 (Advanced Horizontal Slash)]
"Keeeeeee!" Pori yelped in pain.
Only then did Neraxis glance back and realize how much damage he’d done.
Dori was cut in two, and Pori was on the brink of death.
But since Neraxis wasn’t in the market to torture animals, he simply walked toward it.
He raised his sword high into the air and swiftly brought it down over Pori’s neck.
Immediately, it stopped yelping, and with that, a pair of notifications fell.

"Oho..." Neraxis’s eyes widened.
His experience had increased by a lot, and not only that—he realized that killing elite monsters had more benefits than he had expected.
Nonetheless, he turned his attention to his status screen.
