Chapter 118: Chapter 118: One Wave Has Not Subsided, Another One Has Risen

If she told Yuanyuan, she would definitely insist on going instead. But Su Tang shrugged off her concerns. The journey was not far and she should be able to return quickly.

Resolving silently to go, Su Tang took advantage of the poor lighting around, carefully skirting the crowd, and started making her way towards the Beast Skin Cave in the faint darkness.

But Su Tang perhaps overestimated her own abilities.

Not paying attention to the path, she stepped onto the soft body of a wall-crawler beast. At the same time, a terrifying peal of thunder echoed and she was so frightened that she nearly let out a terrified scream.

Suppressing her uneasiness, she bypassed the crawling wall-crawler beasts, guided by the brief flicker of lightning.

She was scared witless! The wall-crawling beasts in this area were as large as alligators. If she hadn’t heard they were herbivores, Su Tang would have been constantly guarding herself against them, worried they might leap up and swallow her whole.

Struggling to keep her eyes open, she stumbled and fumbled her way to the Beast Skin Cave. However, it seemed she arrived late. Water had already seeped into the cave, up to her ankles!

At least two layers of beastskin on the ground were soaked in the water. Because it was so dark, Su Tang couldn’t see clearly. She had no choice but to scoop up all of them and put them into her space, hoping to dry them out when the weather improved.

Just as Su Tang prepared to leave, the mountain suddenly started to shake violently accompanied by a thunderous rumbling. She lost her balance and fell to the ground.

"Thud!"

During the tremors, nearly half of the Beast Skin Cave collapsed. Numerous fragments of rock fell, splashing into the water and creating a loud noise.

Su Tang couldn’t see anything and dared not move. She could only feel pebbles striking her face and body. With a feeble effort, she raised her arm to shield herself. 𝔫𝖔𝖛𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪

A shoot of pain ran through her left ankle. She screamed out in agony but her cries were swallowed by the dark night.

The Beastmen outside felt the impact as well. Having never experienced an event like this before, they were restless and the scene was thrown into chaos.

The Beastmen had night vision ability, so they saw the cave, once their home, being buried by huge rocks, one by one. Fear took over their hearts.

The females and the cubs, unable to see anything, felt even more terrified due to their helplessness. There was a constant chorus of crying and screaming.

Even if Su Tang screamed for help now, nobody would likely hear her.

The cave continued to shake violently. She tried moving her left leg. The pain was not so sharp anymore, but it seemed stuck beneath a rock and wouldn’t budge.

A dread slowly settled within her. Was she going to die here today?

If she had just known... she wouldn’t have gone to collect beast skins.

A large stone fell at the entrance of the cave blocking the only remaining speck of light Su Tang could see.

She could see nothing now!

Su Tang’s heart was pounding in fear! Holding onto a glimmer of hope, wasn’t it Gaiyin who had sworn to the Beast God to find her? He needed to find her quickly! She promised she would never wander off like that again!

"Gaiyin... I’m here! Please come and save me! Will you?"

"Gaiyin! I promise I will behave! Please come and save me!"

"Gaiyin...Gaiyin..."

No matter how loudly she called for help, there was no answer. Tears trickled down her face.

She had yet to confess her feelings to the tiger, nor had she achieved her dreams of becoming wealthy. Dying like this felt so wrong, it was just unacceptable!

The shaking of the cave gradually ceased. Just when Su Tang thought the seismic source had passed and she might be saved, she smelled something unusual...
