Chapter 263: Chapter 264: Tyrant Flower
The large red flower had used vines to encase itself in a large ball, seeming to be enjoying a feast within.
After silently observing it for a while, Gaiyin quietly jumped down from the tree and used a fire stone to light a pile of wood already prepared.
From all sorts of tricky angles, he lobbed torches into the vine-covered ball and swiftly used his superpower to surround it.
The next second, the vine ball began to struggle violently. The vines scattered around, twisting as if they were sentient.
"Crack... pop... boom..."
The flames grew stronger and stronger, and faintly, there came the sound of several explosions.
Trapped within the Prison Cage formed by Gaiyin’s energy, they could only ’watch’ as the fire devoured them.
They had no mouth to cry out; all they could do was desperately wave their leaves and branches. In the stillness of the forest, this added an indescriptible eeriness.
Only once the vines had turned to cinders and lay motionless did Gaiyin step out from under the tree.
All he could see at his feet were piles upon piles of transparent wings. Previously, the green vines had been tangled atop them, so they had been securely hidden.
Gaiyin walked straight up to the Prison Cage, reached out and touched it. Immediately, the cage dissolved into golden specks of light and flowed back into Gaiyin’s body.
This was a skill he had only recently acquired.
Ever since he had mastered energy solidification, every time he solidified an entity, some of his superpower would be used up. The more entities he solidified, the greater the consumption!
To give an example, it was like the mana bar of a character in a game, every skill launched would consume some mana, the more powerful the skill, the more mana consumed!
There were two ways to replenish his superpower. One was to touch the entity he had released and absorb it back into his body. The other was to rely on his practice methods, which was relatively slow.
Ever since he accidentally discovered this problem, Gaiyin had been very cautious, not wasting a bit of his superpower and always keeping it at a level where he could fight at any time.
Without the support of the golden Prison Cage, the vines scattered abruptly. Those burned too much crumbled into black ashes.
With a frown, Gaiyin kicked aside large chunks that weren’t completely burned, trying to discern something.
When he kicked away another chunk of root, a dark hole was revealed underneath.
The hole wasn’t very large, probably about the size of a Long-eared Beast’s head. Originally, it was filled with the wings of the Red Butterfly Beast, but these wings seemed to have been slowly pushed aside, forcibly forming this irregular hole.
Upon seeing this, Gaiyin’s frown deepened.
At the same time, he silently cursed himself, "I was careless!"
After thoroughly investigating the surroundings and finding no sign of the large red flower, Gaiyin reluctantly accepted that it had indeed escaped!
The large red flower, or Tyrant Flower, is a plant that feeds on... anything. It is said that once it absorbs enough nutrients, it can transform into human form. 𝒏𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝒐𝒎
But that’s just a legend; Gaiyin had neither seen nor heard of anyone encountering a Tyrant Flower in its human form.
Perhaps due to this persistent rumor, whenever Beastmen encountered a Tyrant Flower, they would go all out to destroy it. Back in the Wilderness, he’d eliminated a Tyrant Flower himself.
But that Tyrant Flower was nowhere near as mature as this one appeared to be.
It seemed that this particular Tyrant Flower has been around for quite some time...
