Chapter 339: Chapter 340: The True Face of the Rainy Season

In the end, Su Tang gave in to Gaiyin’s wishes.

They shared a room, while Gaiyin, Yadang, Hua Sheng, and Hua Mo were all arranged to stay in the room next door.

Actually, Su Tang also preferred to live alone with Gaiyin.

She, a bright and beautiful young girl, had to live every day with the little ones, taking care of their every need. How ridiculous was that!

The house was built from stone bricks and it was excellently soundproofed. Therefore, Su Tang, who was rather uneasy, got up twice in the night to check on the situation next door, fortunately, all was peaceful.

The tribe members all had a temporary place to lay their heads, just before the storm hit.

Yadang took a room for himself, right across from them, while the remaining rooms upstairs were given to some recently mated, still passionately in love, young Beastman females.

As for the elderly with mobility issues, they were all settled in the unused kitchen behind a window on the first floor.

The weather in the Beast World is as unpredictable as a child’s face; it changes when you least expect it.

It was clear and sunny with not a cloud in the sky when they got up in the morning. But in the blink of an eye, the skies were plunged into darkness.

Dark clouds gathered swiftly out of nowhere and the sky was quickly covered by a huge, black, whirlpool-like vortex that gradually opened up a massive black hole.

The wind whirled as the vortex expanded and began to lower, covering the entire valley as if some God or demon was about to swallow the earth with its gaping mouth.

Underneath this imposing vortex, a fierce wind began to blow within the valley, making the trees rustle. The Gugu Beasts and Long-eared Beasts picked up by the wind began to agitate as if something outside was making them scared.

Boom, boom, boom...

The thunderous rumble echoed from the horizon, rolling and surging within the heavy cloud layer, causing the entire world to tremble.

Lightning bolts fell from the sky, steadily but increasingly, like a hunter laying down a dense net. In a short while, countless thunderbolts were brewing in the black vortex, as if an army of a hundred thousand led by a sky emperor was laying siege.

Boom - Crack!

Suddenly, all the thunderbolts fell at once!

The white flash of light looked like a rampaging dragon, shooting in all directions. The deafening sound and the dazzling flash of light made it seem as if time had stopped in that very moment.

Su Tang was nestled in Gaiyin’s arms, her face pale, her hands and feet icy cold to the touch, no amount of rubbing could warm them up.

"Is this what the rainy season is really like?"

Gaiyin nodded, "Sometimes it’s even more brutal!"

Su Tang stopped talking.

The two of them stood by the window, the strong wind making the window rattle ’piapia’, and occasionally a few wisps of cold wind would seep in through the cracks.

Gaiyin tugged the Beast Skin around Su Tang, "Don’t worry, the house is sturdy, a bit of rain is nothing. Moreover, we have stored so much food, charcoal, and Beast Skin, no one will starve or freeze to death this winter."

Su Tang turned around, tightly embracing Gaiyin, burying her face in his chest.

’Knock, knock, knock...’

There was a knock on the door.

Without raising his head, Gaiyin said, "Come in."

It was Yadang, holding in his hands the skin of some unknown beast. Its fur was shiny and sleek, which indicated that it was extremely pliant.

"Little Tang scared by the rain? Don’t be, it’s just a rain."

Su Tang shook her head and straightened up, "No, just a bit worried. What brings you here?"

Yadang raised the Beast Skin in his hand, "This is the skin of a Water Sloth Beast, keeps you warm and is waterproof. I just remembered, so I brought it for you."

Su Tang received it with a gleaming smile, "Thank you, Brother A!"
