Chapter 454: Chapter 455: Hot Pot

Ye Qiao pondered briefly and understood why they had come, nodded to them with a smile, "Oh it’s you two. Come in, I just made hotpot; you’re in for a treat."

Hai Qin and Hanna entered somewhat hesitantly.

The delicious aroma intensified as they stepped in, lingering stubbornly under their noses.

"Why are you here? Are you feeling better?" Wen Jue, carrying a plate of potato slices, came out of the kitchen and saw Hai Qin immediately.

Hai Qin nodded, "Yes, thanks to the antidote provided by the Peach Grove Holy Woman, I’m fine now. I came over specifically to thank her."

Wen Jue nodded slightly, "You haven’t had your meal yet. Sit down and have a bite."

Hai Qin didn’t bother with formalities and pulled Hanna to sit down next to him.

The already snug dining table was immediately filled with Hai Qin, his wife, Gaiya, Hua Mo, and Hua Sheng.

The hotpot, a Yuanyang Pot, was designed by Su Tang and then created by Gaiyin. Thanks to the chili peppers brought by Ye Qiao, they had made one pot of Red Soup and one pot of white soup. The scent was very tantalizing.

Bright red charcoal nestled in an iron pan, heating the broths in the Yuanyang Pot, which bubbled merrily away.

The table was laden with an assortment of dishes, looking quite sumptuous.

Su Tang grabbed some ingredients and tossed them into both the Red Soup Hotpot and the white soup hotpot, while Ye Qiao did the same.

Watching all this, Gaiya’s mouth was watering, "Aunt, Auntie, I want to eat meat! More meat!"

Su Tang smiled and nodded, "Alright alright, I’ll give you more meat!" 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶

As she spoke, she placed a whole plate of thinly sliced meat into the pot.

Since the meat was sliced very thinly, it changed color after just two laps in the pot.

Su Tang picked up a full plate of cooked meat for Gaiya, casually ruffling his hair, "Here you go, eat up. I’ll pick up more for you when you finish."

Su Tang then filled another plate with meat for Hua Mo, and of course, didn’t forget Too Good, who was eagerly wagging his tail at the sight of the food.

Gaiya stuffed his mouth full of meat, his lips gleaming with oil.

By then, the meat in the Red Soup Hotpot was about ready. Su Tang hurriedly filled her chopsticks with slices and placed them in a small plate in front of her.

Deep Breath!

Ah!

It’s Delicious!

The perfectly tender meat exploded with the familiar combination of spiciness and numbing sensation on her tongue. It tasted amazing!

Ye Qiao also picked the meat cooked in the Red Soup Hotpot. As she ate, she praised, "It’s so tasty! I haven’t tasted this flavor in so many years! It’s too good! It’s so good that I want to cry! I’ve made hotpot before, but the broth I made was only spicy and salty, with no other flavor. It tasted terrible!"

Having not eaten spicy food for a long while, Su Tang found the intense flavor quite refreshing.

"Maybe it’s because you can’t cook, plus I guess you didn’t add any special ingredients when boiling the broth!"

Seeing Ye Qiao’s baffled look, Su Tang knew she was correct.

Shaking her head in resignation, she said, "Never mind, from now on you just stick to eating. You clearly lack the talent for cooking. Don’t make it hard for yourself."

Ye Qiao gave Su Tang a somewhat peeved look, then picked up another mouthful of meat from the Red Soup Hotpot.

Wen Jue was puzzled. He glanced at Ye Qiao casually, "Is it really different from what you gave me before? It won’t make my tongue hurt?"

Ye Qiao waved his hand, not wanting to say anything else that might interrupt her dining pleasure.

Wen Jue was still half-skeptical.
