Chapter 464: Chapter 465: Old Affairs 2

Hai Qin couldn’t see anything, but he had a chilling feeling of being watched that put him on high alert.

The sudden change in Hai Qin’s demeanor frightened Aqi considerably. She also carefully glanced around, but found nothing.

She looked at Hai Qin, still on high alert, and her heart fluttered with nervousness.

She tugged at Hai Qin’s skirt, "Aqin, what’s wrong?"

Hai Qin didn’t answer but his unease deepened and his nerves grew taut as he continued to closely monitor their surroundings.

Suddenly——

A shadow shot across from the nearby forest, the rustle of leaves in its wake. Hai Qin noticed it.

"Who’s there?!"

He shouted out, assuming a defensive pose as he kept his eyes fixed on the shadowy thicket.

Seeing this, Aqi also became vigilante.

After an anxious standoff, they finally heard a low growl of an unknown beast.

The grumble and growl came from its throat, as if it was wary of them and didn’t dare to approach carelessly.

Gathering courage, Aqi picked up a small, glowing piece of red carbon wood from the fire and hurled it towards the direction of the beast’s growl.

"Bang——"

The red carbon wood hit the trunk of a nearby tree, sending sparks flying.

In the faint light, Hai Qin just managed to make out the rough silhouette of the beast, but hadn’t time to exclaim.

The beast roared as if startled, banging into the surrounding trees, some of which were so fragile that they broke on impact.

The deafening roar echoed throughout Firefly Forest, startling countless birds into flight.

Panting heavily, the beast stepped warily out of the shadows, its form gradually revealed in the faint light.

Its black fur bristled like needles, reflecting coldly in the moonlight. It stood nine feet tall, its eyes as big as their heads, emitting a faint green glow. Its sharp claws dug into the earth, and its tail struck randomly at the trees around it.

It seemed to accidentally swipe at a nearby tree, leaving a visible crack in its five-person grip.

Aqi picked up another flaming stick and hurled it at the unknown beast, shouting, "Die!"

By the time Hai Qin wanted to stop her, it was too late.

"Sister, no!"

"Roar!!!"

With the roar of the beast, it stomped forcefully and charged at Aqi with a ferocious look on its face.

Clearly, Aqi’s action of throwing a fire torch at it had been interpreted as a provocation, and now its reddened eyes were focusing solely on her.

Immediately, Hai Qin forced himself to calm down, his hands came together and quickly separated. Transparent water ropes extended from his palms, quickly flying towards the unknown beast.

Hai Qin wanted to use the water ropes to tie down the beast and then take Aqi away.

He had a good plan, but to his surprise, the typically robust water ropes shattered the moment they touched the beast’s fur. n𝚘𝚟𝚙𝚞𝚋.𝚌o𝚖

The sudden interruption of his superpower caused Hai Qin intense chest pain.

Hai pushed Aqi, "Sister, go, quick!"

The beast was growling and charging at them. Left with no other option, Hai Qin had to erect a water shield to defend against the beast’s attack.

But the beast, of an unknown species, managed to shatter his solidified energy shield, proving his defense to be ineffective.
