Chapter 570: Chapter 571: The Elusive Truth 2

The next day.

A piece of news struck Upper Beast City, shocking many citizens.

The priest of the Zhaoying Tribe suddenly died. His body was found by patrolling Beast Soldiers in the forest.

They say when he was found, the scene was horrifying.

His face was bloated and purple, his eyes bulging outwards, and his tongue sticking out long. It was a frightful sight!

The Beast Soldier who found him vomited on the spot from the shock!

A vine known as Tenacious Grass was wrapped around the neck of the Zhaoying priest, its thickness as wide as a finger. His limbs were also entangled by it. This type of vine is hard to cut - They are typically uprooted and burned directly.

Why the young priest of the Zhaoying tribe would run into the forest in the middle of the night remains unknown, especially to be bound by Tenacious Grass. His cries for help wouldn’t have been heard by anyone. It’s no wonder he ended up dying here.

Ying Hao was enraged at the news of the priest’s death!

He firmly believed someone had murdered his tribal priest, clamoring for Keli to seek justice for him!

Keli also felt a headache about this and hastily sent people to investigate.

There were Beastmen who witnessed the young priest walking into the forest by himself. He had an emotionless expression and had told the witness not to meddle in his affairs.

The Beastman who witnessed this thought that the priest might have some tasks to perform and didn’t inquire further. Little did he know, news of this incident would come the next day.

Despite the lack of other clues, the matter ended up unresolved.

Within the Doctor’s Cave –

Upon hearing the news, Luo Bu violently smashed a bowl full of medicinal soup!

"It must be Yadang! He must be the one who caused Ali to fall asleep and not wake up. I will never allow him to escape punishment."

The Doctor of Upper Beast City casually glanced at Luo Bu. "What’s the use of getting so worked up? If it truly was Yadang’s doing, the city lord will handle it. There’s no need for you to worry."

Luo Bu instantly calmed down a lot, nodding lightly. "I was just too angry. The city lord used to love him so much, but he repaid kindness with enmity. He must be unhappy seeing the city lord showering love on other cubs, that’s why he’s seeking revenge."

The Doctor of Upper Beast City didn’t believe Luo Bu’s nonsense at all. He snickered, "If he wants to take revenge, he should aim it at the city lord instead. Why are you worried?"

After a pause, the Doctor feigned surprise. "Could it be that your injuries were caused by Yadang?"

Luo Bu was seething with anger and embarrassment!

"How is that possible? How could I possibly be injured by that cub? Don’t talk nonsense! Cough...cough..."

The Doctor of Upper Beast City sneered and turned away. "I was just saying it casually. What are you so upset about? Just stay in the cave and don’t wander around. I’m stepping out for a bit. I’ll be back soon."

Luo Bu immediately asked with concern, "Where are you going? When will you be back?"

The Doctor halted, looking somewhat impatiently at Luo Bu.

"Where do you think I am going? You just smashed the medicinal soup, won’t I need to fetch another bowl for you?"

After hearing this, Luo Bu awkwardly chuckled a few times, "Then, take care and come back soon."

The Doctor glared at Luo Bu, muttered a few words under his breath, and left.

Only Luo Bu and the still unconscious Yali were left in the cave.

In the meantime, Luo Bu was too frightened thinking Yadang might come to find him. He was on constant alert but no one showed up.

Moreover, there was no movement from the city lord either. It was as if everyone had forgotten about him.

Another day passed, still, no one came looking for him. This brought a hint of joy to Luo Bu.
