Chapter 601: Chapter 604: The newborn calf is not afraid of the tiger
As everyone was talking, they gradually approached the herd of cows.
The herd only glanced at them upon noticing their approach, then nonchalantly continued to swing their tails and graze, not even moving a step back.
The calf that had just been nursing also noticed them and excitedly trotted over, displaying a joyful demeanor.
Upon seeing this, Gaiyin hurriedly shielded Su Tang behind him, his muscles tense with a watchful look on his face, keeping an eye on both the calf and the herd.
Yadang quickly released the beastman he was holding, likewise pulling Qiu Mo behind him, concentrating intensely.
As a result, the beastman’s weight suddenly fell entirely onto Xi Ye.
Xi Ye: "..."
Gaiyin’s actions warmed Su Tang’s heart, but she also found the situation rather amusing. She patted Gaiyin’s back and said, "It’s alright—it’s just a calf. I won’t touch it, and you better not hurt it, either."
Gaiyin paused a bit, then nodded, but he remained on guard.
The calf, its eyes round and big as a baby’s fists, trotted over with curiosity, circling around the group.
It tentatively took two steps towards Su Tang, but was scared back by Gaiyin’s fierce stare. It backed off two steps and then, apparently deciding Gaiyin wasn’t that scary, tried to approach him again.
The calf nudged Gaiyin’s body with its nose, letting out a ’moo’ sound. One of the adult cows eating grass not far off casually raised its head to glance over, then continued grazing.
The calf seemed to get more enthusiastic with each nudge. It would run a couple of steps back, then come forward to nudge Gaiyin, then repeat the process over again—apparently having a blast!
Gaiyin: "..."
He was now convinced that this dumb creature posed no threat. It was even more idiotic than a hare—a first for him.
Su Tang burst out laughing, clutching her stomach, causing Gaiyin to cast her an aggrieved glance.
Su Tang beamed at Qiu Mo, "Do you see, Momo? This is what they mean by ’A newborn calf is not afraid of tigers’, hahaha..."
Qiu Mo looked at Su Tang with a puzzled expression, her face full of question marks.
After pondering over it for a bit, Yadang also began to slightly smile. He leaned over and quietly explained to Qiu Mo.
Immediately, Qiu Mo and Su tang burst out in peels of laughter, their voices echoing across the boundless Xixili flatland.
...
After resting for a while, everyone agreed that they couldn’t just sit around. They were there to find out about the Ming Deer Clan and also to pay a visit to the Sky Fox Clan and see if they had any connections with Yadang.
However, the Xixili Flatland was so vast that they couldn’t see an end to it, and there was no sign of any human habitation. They had no idea where to start looking.
Su Tang was seated cross-legged on the grass, with the little calf obediently nestled beside her. She absentmindedly stroked the calf’s head.
"If we all go together, our pace will definitely be slow. Why don’t I stay here with Momo and wait for you, while you guys split up in three different directions and try to find some clues. Then we can decide where to go," she suggested
Su Tang’s words were cut off by Gaiyin’s ruthless interruption. "No! What if you guys encounter danger while you’re here?"
Yadang and Xi Ye agreed.
Although Qiu Mo had superpowers, she had never practiced diligently. Her half-hearted abilities wouldn’t hurt anyone, and Su Tang didn’t have any superpowers. If an emergency happened, Qiu Mo couldn’t even take care of herself, let alone Su Tang.
So all three of them resolutely disagreed!
