Chapter 616: Chapter 619 Bean Field
The following day.
As usual, Xi’en came with a bunch of females delivering fruits and boiled mashed soybeans in the morning.
However, this time, Xi’en didn’t leave with the females; instead, he stayed behind.
He chuckled somewhat sheepishly, "Our tribe is used to a vegetarian diet, you guys eat first, they will prepare meat for you when they return at noon."
Su Tang didn’t mind; she preferred sweet fruits over roast meat, so did Qiu Mo. They shared similar tastes.
But Gaiyin and the others, were not impressed by the fruits, they had done with a few pieces and refused to touch them anymore.
Once they had filled their bellies, Xi’en led them away from the tribe.
First, they arrived at a place where they usually harvested Hard-Fruits.
This place was a flatland with little obstruction, and was thus fully bathed in sunlight.
The soybean plants growing here were different from what Su Tang remembered. In her memory, the pods were flat, but the pods here were round and full.
The green exterior tightly encased the beans, each pod being as large as Su Tang’s fist. Each branch was laden with at least five or six pods, heavy enough to bend many branches under their weight.
Beyond, the bushes where soybeans were growing were densely covering a large area, from Su Tang’s perspective, she couldn’t even see its edge. It was enough to testify to the astonishing number of beans there!
Xi’en explained, "This is where our tribe picks the Hard-Fruits. Only our tribe and the Sky Fox Clan live in the flatlands. They usually don’t like these weird things, so this place has been assigned to us."
Su Tang was secretly envious.
With so many soybeans, she could make so much tofu, and grind so much soy milk.
"These Hard-Fruits mature quickly and have to be harvested in time. Otherwise, the skin will burst open, and all the Hard-Fruits will fall out. That’s why we usually send fifty Beastmen here to pick, and store the picked Hard-Fruits for eating in winter."
Looking at the verdant bean field in front of her, Su Tang asked in surprise, "Fifty people? Where are they? Are they in there?"
Gaiyin nodded at her side, "Yes, they are. You’re too weak, it’s normal for you not to see them."
Su Tang turned her head to Gaiyin resentfully.
I suspect you are implying something, and I have gathered some evidence.
Gaiyin stared back at Su Tang in bewilderment.
Xi’en interrupted their intense staring moment, "Let me take you to see the unique white flowers of Ming Deer Clan, it’s their blooming season, they are gorgeous."
Awakened by his comment, Su Tang hurriedly said, "I want to go take a walk around and have a closer look at the Hard-Fruits. Is that okay?"
Xi’en nodded and asked politely, "Of course, would you like me to join you?"
Su Tang gestured not necessary, then she held Gaiyin’s hand and said, "He’s with me, that’s enough. You guys wait for me here, I’ll be back soon~"
She raced into the bean field with Gaiyin. The tall plants instantly ’drowned’ Su Tang, leaving only Gaiyin’s head above the plants.
The two walked deeper into the bean field, Gaiyin had figured out what Su Tang’s plan was, he stopped and said, "This is okay, there’s no one here."
Su Tang smiled ear to ear. She put all the soy pods she had picked along the way into her Space, and then instructed Gaiyin to completely harvest the pods in the nearby area.
After a long time of labor, Su Tang, feeling the corner of her Space filled with soy pods, finally showed a contented smile on her face.
