Chapter 641: Chapter 644: What kind of grudge

Suo Long darted forward like a gust of wind, his eyes bloodshot, and a horrifying murderous aura clung to him, faintly laced with the scent of blood.

He rushed over to hold Jin Se, turned fiercely to look at Sheng Ya, uttering each word slowly and clearly, "I hope the Ming Deer Clan can provide an explanation! Otherwise, I won’t mind us all dying together!"

After saying that, Suo Long left with Jin Se and Chi Yu.

Suo Long was a Level 8 Divine Brave Warrior, while Sheng Ya was only Level 7. Add to that the unique superpowers of the Sky Fox Clan and Suo Long consistently had the upper hand over Sheng Ya.

Although, among the Sky Fox Clan, only Suo Long was of a high level. Still, his single-handed prowess caused Sheng Ya to be extremely wary. After all, no one dared to imagine the possibility of dying in their sleep.

Having escorted Jin Se home, Suo Long turned back to the Ming Deer Clan.

However, no matter what methods he used, he was not able to extract any information about the cub from Lu Yu’s father, even deploying his superpowers proved to be ineffective.

Suo Long could sense that Lu Yu’s father’s heart had already died, along with the death of Lu Yu’s mother. Because of this, he no longer feared anything.

Unwilling to give up, Suo Long estimated Lu Yu’s fathers’ possible trail. With Xixili Flatland as the center, Beastmen were dispatched in every direction to search, vowing to find proof of life or death.

Unfortunately, despite several consecutive days of searching, nothing was found.

Disappointed, he returned to the flatland.

After weighing up the considerations, Sheng Ya decided that there were no significant conflicts with the Sky Fox Clan for the time being. As a result, she personally killed Lu Yu’s father herself and sent his body to Suo Long.

The delivery left Suo Long bedridden due to a major illness. With the death of Lu Yu’s father, it meant the whereabouts of the cub were forever lost...

The grudge between the Sky Fox Clan and Ming Deer Clan was thus established.

After recovering from the illness, Suo Long found his physical strength greatly diminished. He devoted all his energy to raise and educate Chi Yu. Once Chi Yu came of age and gained his superpowers, he handed over the tribe to him.

Before transferring power, Suo Long made it clear that he shouldn’t use the past as an excuse to instigate conflict with the Ming Deer Clan, much less fight them. The past should be left in the past, otherwise, where would the resentment end?

Although Chi Yu agreed verbally, he couldn’t swallow his anger. To spite the Ming Deer Clan, specifically Sheng Ya, he deliberately moved most of his clan to live opposite her.

As for Jin Se, Suo Long, grandfather, and some of the older Beastmen, Chi Yu arranged for female Beastmen to take care of them.

This matter was kept under wraps. Of all the cubs that year, only Chi Yu, the eldest, remembered the past events. Thus, the current generation of Beastmen was left wondering what grudge could keep two tribes apart.

What sort of grudge?

A deep-seated enmity that was quelled only after a painful price was paid in blood and tears!

...

Chi Yu was beyond tears, his eyes red, as he knelt before Yadang on one knee.

"I know you bear resentment in your heart, but if it hadn’t been for me, you wouldn’t have been lost. You can vent any sorrow or dissatisfaction you have on me, I bear no resentment. Your father and mother loved you very much. If they knew you were still alive, they would be very happy. I hope you can visit them and give them a reason to live. Can you do this?"

Yadang pursed his lips, but upon closer examination, his eyes were slightly moist.
