Chapter 672: Chapter 675: Three Thousand Words Chapter
In the beginning, everyone worried that the Ming Deer Clan might catch up with them. Thus, they were focused on reaching the furthermost points from the Misty Forest. Only once they were far enough did they slow down.
With Xi’en, a foreigner amongst them, Su Tang found it difficult to use her spatial abilities. Gaiyin and Yadang had started hunting while Xi and Xi’en stayed behind to protect Su Tang and Qiu Mo.
However, one time when Gaiyin and his group went hunting, Su Tang and the others found themselves surrounded by a pack of Jackal Beasts from an unknown place.
The group of Jackal Beasts was around seven or eight in number. Each of them was crouching low with sharp fangs shining through their snarls. Their green eyes were glued on them as though they were a delightful feast.
Transparent mucus trickled down the corners of their mouths, forming puddles on the ground in a short while.
Xi and Xi’en both got serious and slowly moved Su Tang and Qiu Mo behind them.
Xi focused his gaze on the leading Jackal Beast, his voice stern, "Hide behind the trees and no matter what happens, don’t come out!"
While Xi was talking, the leader of the Jackal Beasts let out a howl.
The next second, two Jackal Beasts from the outer circle rushed towards Xi and Xi’en.
Xi’en lashed out with a green, thorny vine whip, hitting a Jackal Beast’s abdomen. The creature withdrew with a terrible scream.
The Jackal Beast on Xi’s side collided mid-air with a blue curtain of water. Although it appeared to be a water curtain, the dull thud demonstrated its hardness.
Seeing their companions forced back, the leader of the Jackal Beasts appeared threateningly fierce. Its mouth was twitching and a deep roar echoed from its throat.
Xi was on high alert, prepared to strike at a moment’s notice.
Xi’en was in the same state of readiness.
This was the first time Su Tang had witnessed Beastmen fighting against wild beasts. Her face turned pale.
She knew she had no combat power. Getting too close to them would be a burden and could distract them.
So she took Qiu Mo and hid under a somewhat sturdy tree and without hesitation activated the protective shield.
The protective shield was not very large and barely enough for them. It couldn’t accommodate anyone else.
Qiu Mo, who had never experienced such a situation before, felt weak in the knees. She tried to gather her courage to create a small water ball to assist Xi and the others.
Su Tang stopped her with a serious look, "Don’t do that, you might disrupt the battle. All we have to do is protect ourselves and not distract them."
Qiu Mo’s small face crumpled, almost on the brink of crying, "But..."
Su Tang pressed a hand to her lips and shook her head.
In the end, Qiu Mo reluctantly retracted the Water Ball, her eyes shimmering.
At this moment, at least three Jackal Beasts had surrounded both Xi and Xi’en.
Xi’en was managing the situation well with a vine whip in one hand, the three Jackal Beasts unable to get close to him.
However, Xi was not doing so well. The water whip that he had conjured up didn’t cause much damage to the Jackal Beasts. He had no choice but to conjure two daggers and engages directly with the Jackal Beasts that tried to bite him in a life-and-death struggle.

Xi’s eyes hardened and, despite the pain, he plunged a dagger into the vulnerable area. There was a scream as the Jackal Beast fell to the ground, twitching, as viscera spilled from the wound beneath it.
Whether because of the death of their companion or the scent of blood from Xi’s wound, the other Jackal Beasts seemed to go crazy, their assault becoming more fierce.
The leader of the Jackal Beasts, originally standing outside the battle, also joined the fight.
The battle became more intense. Xi had numerous wounds, and even Xi’en was starting to struggle, with a few scratches on him.
Though they weren’t gaining the upper hand, neither could the Jackal Beasts get the best of them.
Inside the protective shield, Qiu Mo’s eyes were full of tears. She feared for them yet didn’t dare to yell out loud, anxious not to distract Xi.
Su Tang’s face was pale. One hand was resting on Qiu Mo’s shoulder, both of them lending each other their support.
The leader of the Jackal Beasts, smarter than the others, realizing he couldn’t take on the two Beastmen in front of him turned his gaze towards Su Tang and Qiu Mo in the protective shield.
He took a hit from Xi, then retreats without making a noise, moving stealthily to circle around to Su Tang and Qiu Mo’s back.
Upon the departure of the leader, Xi’s pressure lessened significantly, but due to the multiple wounds on his body, he could not let down his guard!
He kicked away a Jackal Beast and took the opportunity to look around but still couldn’t locate the leader.
"Xi’en! Is the leader of the Jackal Beasts over by you?"
Xi’en chucked a Jackal Beast in the air and gasped out a response, "No!"
Xi’s eyes twitched. He quickened his pace, and Xi’en also understood the situation, the whip in his hand lashing out with increasing urgency.
Su Tang and Qiu Mo were inside the protective shield, looking around. However, since they couldn’t move, their view was limited and they couldn’t find the Wolf King after a long time.
Because they were protected by the shield, Su Tang felt safe. Unable to find the Wolf King, they shifted their focus back to Xi and Xien.
As they turned around, a pair of green glowing eyes emerged from behind a tree.
Xi was dealing with two Jackal Beasts, while moving closer to Xien’s position. His bloody scent had attracted attacks from another two Jackal Beasts.
He gritted his teeth, his eyes red, "Protect Su Tang and Qiu Mo! Gaiyin and the others are almost here, hang on!"
Xien nodded.
With only one Jackal Beast left beside him, he took a deep breath, lashed out at it with his whip and, as it jumped to avoid the whip, he raised a circle of sharp wooden spikes where it was about to land.
This move exhausted his superpower significantly, turning his face pale instantly.
Having taken care of that Jackal Beast, he turned around only to see the Wolf King, who had been missing for a while, lunging ferociously at Su Tang.
Xien’s eyes were about to split from anger, he rushed over without another thought!
Meanwhile, two cries echoed from not far away!
"Tangtang!"
"Tang cub!"
Su Tang turned to find the Wolf King, mouth wide open, lunging towards her.
In that instant, Su Tang’s mind went blank, her eyes vacant and her limbs cold.
She forgot she was still protected by the shield, as she could clearly see every hair on the Wolf King’s face, its seemingly extremely sharp fangs, and the blood smeared around its mouth.
In that moment, her brain nearly shut down, the thick scent of blood was lingering in her nostrils. She felt an intense sense of death and even screamed out.
Just when Su Tang felt the Wolf King was about to pounce on her, a figure blocked their way, taking the brunt of the Wolf King’s sharp claws and fangs on his arm.
"Mm."
Xien groaned in pain.
Enduring the pain, he raised wooden spikes from his other hand and jabbed at the Wolf King.
The Wolf King sensed something wrong and quickly jumped back. But before it could react, it was trapped inside a descending golden cage.
Xien let out a sigh of relief. He turned to Su Tang and smiled gently, "Don’t be afraid, it’s over."
Only then did Su Tang recover. She quickly put down the protective shield.
Her heart was pounding from fear, her limbs were trembling uncontrollably, her eyes welling up with tears, but she forced them back.
Gaiyin and Yadang rushed back too, they joined Xi and took care of the remaining four Jackal Beasts.
Qiu Mo, with a crying voice ran over to Xi, "Brother, brother are you okay... sob..."
Xi looked at the blood on him, and without touching Qiu Mo, managed to give a faint smile, "I’m fine, don’t worry, it’s just a scratch."
Gaiyin’s expression was stern. He shook the blood off his hand and walked over to Su Tang. He glanced at Xien and said, "Thank you."
Xien looked pale. He was exhausted from using his superpower and was injured. He didn’t feel well, but still managed to give Gaiyin a small smile.
"No problem, I was glad to help."
Su Tang, hands trembling, supported Xien to sit down by a tree. His arm bore evident marks of bite wounds and three claw marks, blood oozing out from them.
Su Tang forced herself to stay calm, but her trembling voice revealed how scared she had been.
"Ayin, condense two pots, Momo, come, pour water! Boil a pot of hot water!"
After speaking, she began rummaging in the beast skin bag she had on her back for camouflage.
She managed to pull out a large piece of clean beast skin, powdered medicine for disinfection and haemostasis, and some twine, all from the Space in secret.
After performing a basic disinfection for Xien and Xi’s wounds, she sprinkled some of the powdered medicine for disinfection and haemostasis.
Thanks to the powdered medicine, the wounds soon stopped bleeding. Su Tang then asked Gaiyin to help cut the clean beast skin into several pieces to bandage their wounds.
Only after taking care of their wounds did Su Tang finally catch her breath, only to feel weak in her arms and legs.
She nestled into Gaiyin’s arms, recalling the earlier scene, she couldn’t stop the shuddering.
Gaiyin didn’t say anything, he just held Su Tang tighter, comforting her.

Xien was from the Ming Deer Beastmen, a clan not known for fighting, they were more inclined towards support.
After a Battle-type Beastman Transformation, the power increases nearly double. But, since both of them couldn’t transform, they ended up in this situation.
