Chapter 795: Chapter 799: The Third Test 32

Gaiyin’s face suddenly changed.

Su Tang also nervously gripped his arm, "That’s brother’s voice, is there something wrong over there? Let’s hurry back and check."

Nodding, Gaiyin looked at Xi and said, "We need to go, now!"

Saying that, he scooped up Su Tang and dashed towards the makeshift cave they had erected.

Upon seeing them running, the rest of the Beastmen wondered if something had happened.

Each was tense, rushing along, following them with grave expressions.

Because no one turned around, they failed to notice the Insect Beasts that had crossed the barrier were not pursuing them.

One by one, those creatures, red-eyed, lunged at the white fragmented shells hidden amongst the gravel.

······

The surrounding sand dunes began to quake, a sensation reminiscent of the precursors to a mountain deity’s wrath during their time in the Wilderness.

Yadang remembered that feeling all too well.

Even as Qiu Mo and Xi’en were still curiously teetering around, Yadang had yanked them out of the cave.

Within seconds, the cave was consumed by quicksand.

Moreover, the surrounding dunes started to sink gradually with intense tremors.

The sand beneath their feet became incredibly loose, impossible to stand upon.

With a sense of foreboding, Yadang urgently transformed into a Fiery Red Fox. He coiled his tail around Qiu Mo, placing her on his back, and again scooped up Xi’en, dashing around the quicksand-filled terrain in search of an exit.

But this area seemed to be entirely affected, nowhere was safe. Yadang was forced to zigzag across the landscape, evading the quicksand with them on his back.

The burden of carrying them both made the evasion considerably more challenging.

Both Qiu Mo and Xi’en recognized the danger and remained quiet so as to not distract him.

Fortunately, as the surrounding dunes gradually sank, the intensity of the vibrations decreased significantly.

Yadang exhaled in relief, his taut nerves beginning to gradually relax.

However, when they finally landed on a sand plot, Yadang’s hind legs suddenly sank. When he tried to wriggle free, a powerful suction gripped his legs, pulling him in further.

Yadang was startled, instinctively tossed Xi’en off to lighten his load, and then, coiling his tail around Qiu Mo on his back, he placed her on the flat ground in front of him.

By the time these movements were complete, his hind legs were firmly stuck in the quicksand.

Qiu Mo shouted in surprise, "Your legs! Xi’en, come help quickly!"

From where he was, Xi’en quickly got up and ran over.

Seeing Yadang stuck in the quicksand, his heart sank.

He stooped down, and together with Qiu Mo, each grabbing a fox paw, prepared to pull Yadang out.

"When I count to three, we both pull."

"One, two, pull!" 𝔫𝖔𝔳𝖕𝖚𝔟.𝔠𝔬𝖒

Both of them exerted all their strength but were unable to free Yadang.

Not only that, but it also seemed like some monster lurking within the sand where Yadang’s hind legs were stuck was pulling back with even greater force whenever they tried to pull.

They almost ripped out Yadang’s front paws, and instead of pulling him out, they caused him to sink further into the quicksand.

With teary eyes, Qiu Mo clutched Yadang’s fluffy paw, "What should we do? I can’t pull you out, I’ll call Tangtang and the others to come back!"

Yadang gently bit the corner of Qiu Mo’s attire with his fox mouth, indicating her to sit still.

He then raised his head and let out a loud fox howl.
