Chapter 829: Chapter 833: The Fourth Trial 6
The butler had mentioned there were clues, but he hadn’t specified where exactly they were hidden; it was they themselves who had confined their search to this large Cave.
When Su Tang’s thoughts broke free from the established formation, she felt as if a great vista had suddenly opened up before her eyes.
She immediately nodded, "Alright, let’s pick a cave and check it out first."
Upon hearing this, everyone stood up.
Just as they got to their feet, they noticed that Bai Que on the other side was also making a move.
Bai Que asked with a smile, "It looks like you’re planning on exploring inside? We have the same intention. May I ask which cave you’re planning to choose? Don’t let us pick the same one by mistake."
Gaiyin gave him a bland look and couldn’t be bothered to expose the little tricks in his words.
They walked resolutely towards the second cave, completely ignoring Bai Que.
Only Xi’en gave Bai Que a slight smile as he passed.
Bai Que immediately returned the friendly smile, "Xi’en, be careful with everything. If it really gets dangerous, don’t act tough, make sure to use the Muxian Order. Life is what’s most important!"
Xi’en nodded vigorously, "Of course, Brother Que, the same goes for you."
They were about to step into the second cave.
Bai Que raised his voice again, "Gaiyin, we’ll check out the last cave, maybe later we can share any information we find."
"..."
In response, he got nothing but the sight of Gaiyin and his group’s backs as they walked away without looking back.
It wasn’t until all of them had disappeared that Bai Que smirked and curled his lips.
He raised his hand, beckoning with his fingers, and said to the Beastmen behind him, "Let’s go, let’s see what the situation is inside." 𝓷ℴ𝓿𝓅𝓊𝒷.𝓬𝓸𝓂
While speaking, his steps headed toward the third cave.
Xuan Tian paused for a moment, stopping in his tracks, "Young Master, you’re going the wrong way, the last cave is over there."
Bai Que sneered and gave Xuan Tian a sidelong glance, "You idiot."
Xuan Tian felt very wronged.
He was just kindly reminding him, and hadn’t said anything wrong; why was he being scolded?
He opened his mouth to argue in his own defense, but was suddenly pulled back.
Xuan Shui immediately stepped forward, giving Bai Que a bow, "Please forgive him, Young Master. Tian didn’t mean it. I’ll explain to him."
Bai Que gave Xuan Shui another look and snorted coldly, then strode towards the cave.
Xuan Shui sighed softly, grabbed Xuan Tian, and quickly caught up with him, explaining in a low voice.
"The Young Master did it on purpose, telling them intentionally we’re going to the last cave. To mislead them, to temporarily not choose the last cave.
When we come out, we can tell them the last cave is incorrect. We’ll then choose the third cave for ourselves, forcing Gaiyin and his team to pick from the remaining two caves, which makes it easier for us to deduce the correct one."
Xuan Tian listened, only half-comprehending, and rubbed his head in irritation.
"But what if the cave they choose now is the correct one?"
Xuan Shui smacked the back of Xuan Tian’s head with a hand, not too forcefully.
"You, if we don’t see them come out after a while, doesn’t that indicate their cave is the right one? Then we can just go in directly."
"Oh..." Xuan Tian nodded his head.
Seeing him like this, Xuan Shui felt a mixture of exasperation and anger.
Unable to restrain his itching hand, he smacked him again, "What’s with your ’oh’ responses? Can’t you be a little more optimistic? Maybe it’s the cave we’re about to choose that’s the correct one?"
Xuan Tian silently glanced at Xuan Shui and obediently shut his mouth.
