Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Ceramics 2

As she spoke, Su Tang rolled a mud ball evenly on the ground.

The other females observed and mimicked her actions.

When she felt the mud ball was sufficiently kneaded, Su Tang said, "Alright! Now it’s time to shape the mud embryos! We start by pressing a small dip in the center of the mud ball, then gently squeeze along the edges, trying our best to make it thin!"

The females carefully shaped the mud embryos.

"Oh no! It broke!"

Huang Guo exclaimed, raising a muddy hand that had a large hole in the middle of it!

Su Tang chuckled lightly, "It’s okay, just knead it for a bit more and re-shape it!"

Huang Guo wiped her moist forehead with her arm.

Now she finally understood why Su Tang had said it would take at least two or three days to make!

This soft mud ball needed to be molded into shape, which was incredibly difficult!

Huang Guo became restless after a while, feeling frustrated as she saw the others successfully mold shapes, while hers remained a sloppy mess of mud!

"I’m going to pick some chestnuts! Making these mud embryos is too difficult!"

Su Tang had anticipated this outcome, so she just shook her head laughing and ignored her.

From their previous experience of making baskets, Huang Guo was clearly not talented in this area!

On the other hand, Liu Ye, even though it was her first time handling clay, was skillfully shaping it. Her piece was very close to the porcelain bowl Su Tang used back on the Blue Star!

Pausing her work, Su Tang described the shape and approximate appearance of the bowl to Liu Ye. With her nimble hands, Liu Ye quickly recreated it!

And thus, the first ceramic bowl embryo was born in Liu Ye’s hands!

Su Tang placed the ceramic bowl in the center of everyone, saying, "The ceramic bowls I mentioned should look like this. Let’s all try to make them like Liu Ye’s. Practice making these ceramic bowls first, then we’ll move on to making ceramic pots!"

The females had no objections. As none of them were professionals and they didn’t have any previous experience to rely on, they were all just figuring things out as they went!

By mid-morning, they had only managed to shape about fifty ceramic bowls! Among them, Liu Ye alone had produced more than ten!

These ceramic bowls were then carefully arranged inside the cave to allow them to dry naturally.

After that, Su Tang used the leftover clay to teach everyone how to fashion soup and strainer ladles. These too were placed in a corner of the cave to dry.

Having gotten the hang of shaping the clay, everyone was looking forward to Su Tang teaching them how to form ceramic pots!

Especially Liu Ye, who after eating only a little of the roast meat at noon, urged Su Tang to hurry back to the cave.

Poor Yadang, who bearing his hunting spoils, returned early in anticipation of seeing the little females. Before he could even put down his game, he heard that the little females had already finished eating their roast meat and returned to the cave!

Yadang: ...

He glared at Adam.

Adam had urged him to wait a bit longer to return. He told Yadang that it would impress the female if he showcased his robust appearance with his spoils of the hunt when they were eating. Maybe she wouldn’t be angry anymore!

Well, that backfired!

Not only did the female not see his robust appearance, but he also didn’t get to see her!

Yadang furiously tossed his game onto the ground. Even though several individuals separated them, Adam could feel Yadang’s fiery gaze.

With so many tribesmen around, he had to maintain a good image! So, Adam kept the facade of indifference till he was out of Yadang’s sight!

He let out a long sigh of relief.

"Are you hiding from me?"

Yadang suddenly appeared behind Adam.

Adam: ...

"Would you believe me if I said no?"

Yadang remained silent.

Okay, fine, even Adam didn’t believe his own words!
