Zaroth's beasts began to lash out at every form of life their gaze fell upon following his command.

With a sigh, he got off Luna and dismissed her. His mana reserves had taken a hit and there was no point in keeping her summoned any longer.

With silent steps he got off the roof she had landed upon and decided to join his beasts slaughter, holding his odachi firmly in his hand.

His movements were swift but calm like water; just by a single glance it was clear that the sparring sessions with Eldros had borne fruit.

Soon, the first target entered his field of vision: a woman clad in black, adorned with crimson armaments — the standard military garb of the enemy empire.

Zaroth didn't need to use great effort to dispatch her on the spot. She was but an easy target.

Not stopping even for a second, as this extortion wasn't enough to make him sweat, he shifted his focus to the next target.

Everywhere he went, only corpses remained, and it was the same for his beasts as well.

The unnamed wolves had no trouble devouring civilians, while the soldiers were able to stop them but not for long as the wolves were able to fight on no matter how much damage they had accumulated while the humans couldn't.

Silverfang was the one that was able to use howls to stun every person that attacked him or flew upon seeing him. Once the enemy was stunned, he was able to swiftly get rid of them with a precise bite to the neck.

Hellweaver was the most fearsome-looking of them all. Every person who laid eyes on the spider immediately broke into a sprint. A spider was terrifying enough, but one larger than a horse was an entirely different matter.

And finally Nightshade. Thanks to her shadow, no one was even able to see her; all of her targets would have their life extinguished from them before even being able to register an attack. This was how powerful an Epic beast was.

Zaroth really wanted to make his other beasts evolve to her tier, specifically Hellweaver, as he really knew what he had to do to make the spider evolve but it wasn't the time for it just yet.

The main force of the town might have been obliterated in the first thirty seconds of the battle but the remaining few scattered all around prolonging it.

After a few hours passed, the terrified screams throughout the town ceased. All the people were dead.

It was possible that a few survivors managed to hide, but Zaroth didn't care. In fact, it might even be better if there were. After he was gone, the survivors would flee to other cities, spreading panic and chaos by recounting what had happened here.

Satisfied, Zaroth clapped happily. Now he was going to have no problem pillaging the town.

Food, clean water, building materials, weapons, valuable treasures, and more things were stored into Nightshade's shadow.

Just as he had expected, there was no limit to how much things her shadow could store, or if there really was, it had so much space that Zaroth doubted he would ever be able to fill it all up.

After he was done, he briefly observed the city; it was a shell of its former self. There were no people and pretty much every single valuable thing was gone.

"Well this is done," he muttered as he dismissed all of his beasts and began to head to the former slave city. He wasn't sure if the things he had gotten from that attack were going to be enough but it was a start at least.

He debated if he should use Luna to fly to the former slave city to reach his destination faster but decided it wasn't a wise decision to abuse his mana core so much.

During his peaceful walk, his mind was somewhere else, not really thinking about anything in particular. That was why once the system echoed in his head he was taken by surprise.

The council had gathered once again; however, rather than 13 members, now there were only 12.

The death of Henry wasn't really unexpected as he was the type to stick his nose in trouble. The only reason he was allowed to enter was because of his bandit group, the Outlaws, but now that he was dead, the group was done for as well.

However, what bothered the members most wasn't the fact that the man had died but that the slave city had fallen and was now under somebody else's control.

Silver, leaning back in her chair, put her two hands behind her head as a sigh escaped her mouth. "It seems that this 'Ghost' proved to be too much of an obstacle."

A couple of the members nodded in agreement.

Solara tightened her jaw. When she heard that the person who had defended Drakmire Bastion had moved from his position, she ordered an attack on the city. However, it soon became clear that someone else was now protecting it. The report wasn't clear, but it mentioned two women: one with crimson eyes and hair, and the other with striking black eyes and pink hair.

They proved to be no weaker than Ghost and were able to stop the attack.

The council members of the Draconian Empire also began to move, prompting Solara to step forward with a proposal.

"It appears that we underestimated their empire's might." Her words resonated throughout the room, and everyone present listened silently and intently.

"I considered the best course of action and what should be our first priority."

With a decisive movement, she raised an old poster with an rough drawing of Ghost and the number one million gold coins below it.

"The most important thing is to eliminate the parasite that has entered our empire. I suggest we attack Ghost and the former slave city, overwhelm them, and put an end to this problem once and for all."

By the silence that followed, one thing became clear: all the people present agreed.
