“Why are you standing outside? Come in!” Li Xin glanced at Bai Lian, who lingered at the doorway surveying the headquarters, and beckoned him inside.
Bai Lian snapped back to reality and followed her in.
Upon entering, he scanned the room as if searching for something.
The interior was softly lit, with warm lamps casting a gentle glow over the spacious area. Glass partitions separated workstations, resembling the office from his class-change dungeon. The headquarters felt oddly empty—three men stood in the distance, deep in discussion.
Bai Lian frowned and turned to Li Xin:
“You said there were girls here prettier than you? Is this all?”
Li Xin ruffled her hair with a playful smirk:
“Do you think everyone clears dungeons as fast as you? The girls are out on missions. Wait for them to return, and I’ll introduce you later.”
With that, she strode past the three members of Nullification, who promptly stood at attention:
“Commander, you’re back!”
Bai Lian noted their tense expressions—clearly, these men feared her.
“If you’re bored, go patrol outside. Or dive into a dungeon,” Li Xin waved dismissively.
“Understood, Commander!”
The trio bowed. Only then did they notice Bai Lian trailing behind her. A young man in a white shirt grinned:
“Commander, is he new?”
Before Li Xin could reply, Bai Lian shook his head:
“Nope, not joining Nullification. I’m here for the girls.”
The three froze.
Li Xin facepalmed and shooed them away:
“No more questions. Get back to work—and you, follow me.”
As Bai Lian walked off with her, the men exchanged bewildered glances: 𝑛𝑜𝑣𝑝𝑢𝘣.𝘤𝑜𝘮
“Did he just say he came to ogle girls... here?”
“Who dares talk to the Commander like that?!”
“Is she... into him? He’s kinda handsome...”
“Don’t be absurd. Commander Li in love? That’s a horror story.”
“Let’s just go. This place reeks of drama…”
In a private office, Li Xin sank into a sofa and gestured for Bai Lian to sit opposite her. He leaned back, sipped the tea she poured, and cut to the chase:
“Where are these girls you promised?”
“Is that all you care about?” She arched a brow.
“If not women, should I fantasize about men?”
“That... isn’t off the table,” her lips twitched. “We’ve got cute guys here too. Want an intro?”
“Pass.” Bai Lian set down his cup. “Let’s talk business.”
Li Xin sighed:
“Still refusing to join Nullification?”
“I told you—a few thousand Rule Points monthly and an S-tier item, then we’ll talk.”
“No guild in the Mysterious World can meet those demands.” She leaned forward. “But the Professionals’ Association won’t let you off easy. Can you handle their pressure alone?”
The Professionals’ Association, one of the top five player factions, wielded immense influence. Crossing them meant constant harassment in dungeons.
Bai Lian smirked: “Don’t worry about me.”
Even now, at 1st-tier class, he could annihilate most 4th-tier players using [Annihilation] alone. With his [Dead Realm] and Shadow Sovereign form? Even 5th-tiers might fall.
“Then answer my question,” he said. “How do you level up a class?”
Li Xin swirled her tea: “First, clear ten dungeons. Then enter an Assistance Request Dungeon.”
“Assistance Request Dungeon? Explain.”
She raised a finger: “That’ll cost you. Intel isn’t free here.”
Bai Lian grinned: “Funny—I charge for answers too.”
