Chapter 361: Chapter 351 Visiting the Park

Zhou Tian, the Li Hongjun family of four rarely slept in, they all opened their eyes early, simply reluctant to get out of bed.

"Daddy, pee pee." Pangpang climbed onto Li Hongjun and acted coquettishly.

Li Hongjun first slapped his son’s little bottom, then whispered, "Hold on." He crawled out of the covers, picked up the basin from under the bed, and let Pangpang stand by the bed to urinate.

This was the moment when you could tell how inconvenient it was without Taxue at home. When she was around, just calling out to Taxue would make her bring over the potty. Because space was limited here, Taxue could only stay over at the military base.

"Okay, keep quiet, don’t wake up your sister and mom." Li Hongjun stuffed his son back into the covers.

The weather in June was still a bit chilly in the morning and evening, and the kids liked sleeping in just their underwear. Li Hongjun was afraid his son would catch a cold.

"I’m already awake." Shen Yunfang muttered with her head buried in the pillow.

None of these people had the habit of sleeping in, so even on the rare holidays, they would wake up on time.

Seeing that his wife was awake, Li Hongjun moved his son to the other side within the covers, then snuggled up to his wife, stretched out an arm, and embraced her.

Ah, being a man is difficult, being a dad is even tougher. With two little devils causing trouble at home, he and his wife hardly had time to get intimate.

"What are you doing, the kids are watching." Shen Yunfang quickly pushed him, glancing toward their son.

Pangpang was staring wide-eyed at his parents, knowing they were about to play kissy-face again.

"Pangpang, close your eyes, that’s an order." Li Hongjun sternly told his son.

Pangpang reflexively covered his eyes with his small hands, but the gaps between his fingers were a bit wide, so his eyeballs could still be seen rolling around.

Li Hongjun didn’t care, and turned to plant a kiss on his wife’s lips.

"Hey, what are you doing, we haven’t even brushed our teeth." Shen Yunfang could only complain in a low voice.

"No problem, I don’t mind." Li Hongjun said nonchalantly.

Shen Yunfang rolled her eyes, "I mind you, okay?"

Li Hongjun raised an eyebrow, rolled over to pin his wife down, and his hand began to wander on her body.

"Ah! What are you doing, haha, get off me, haha..." Shen Yunfang laughed as she was tickled all over, pinned down by him, with nowhere to hide.

"Mommy, I’ll help you." Pangpang saw his mommy being pinned by daddy and hurriedly put his hands down to run towards his dad, imitating him by starting to tickle Li Hongjun under the armpit.

"Hey, you little rascal, daring to ruin daddy’s plan, face my One Finger Technique." Li Hongjun shifted slightly to the side, scooped up his son between him and his wife, and began tickling her waist.

Pangpang let out a shrill scream, his body twisting like a caterpillar.

"Shh, don’t scream, you’re going to wake up your sister." Li Hongjun didn’t expect him to cry out so loudly, and quickly put a finger to his lips to shush him.

"Daddy, awake."

The family of three looked in the direction of the voice, only to see the originally supposed-to-be-sleeping delicate little dumpling already staring around with wide eyes, not at all like someone who had just been woken up.

"When did you wake up?" Shen Yunfang asked with suspicion.

"Daddy kiss, shy shy." Manman pointed at Daddy, then gently scratched her own little face, something Mommy and Daddy often did, which she had long since learned.

Shen Yunfang turned her head to glare at Li Hongjun, see, she thought, let him be shameless and brazen; now both kids have seen it.

"Oh my, our little Manman is a sneaky one, waking up without a peep. Come see Daddy’s mighty finger." Li Hongjun didn’t care about that, seeing his little girl awake, he scooped her into his other arm and tickled her.

Shen Yunfang watched them making a ruckus and shook her head; such a grown man, he acts so serious outside, who knew he was like this at home.

"Alright, didn’t we say we’re going to the park today? I’ll go cook; you help the kids get dressed." Shen Yunfang got out of bed, put on her clothes, and went out to start the fire.

"Oh no, Mommy’s gone to cook, what should we three do?" Li Hongjun asked, looking at his two treasures.

"Eat," Pangpang replied without a second thought.

Manman opened her little mouth and shouted "Ah" at Li Hongjun.

"Aww, my little girl is so good, see how hygienic she is, knowing we need to brush our teeth before breakfast, right? Alright, let’s get dressed now, then ask Mommy to warm up some water, so we can brush teeth and wash faces, okay?" Li Hongjun was over the moon with his daughter’s actions. He was a good dad; before Manman was born, Pangpang was the apple of his eye. But once Manman came along, his favoritism towards his daughter became clear as day; whatever the girl said was right, and the boy would have to step aside.

When Shen Yunfang served the meal, the family had just finished tidying up.

"Alright, no more playing, hurry up and eat. Look at the time; it’ll be good if we can leave by nine o’clock."

Shen Yunfang made egg fried rice, seaweed egg drop soup, some mixed veggies, a few salted duck eggs, and several dishes of pickles for breakfast.

After a morning of romping, everyone was hungry and sat down obediently to eat.

"Did you tell Chen Jing and them?" Li Hongjun asked.

Shen Yunfang knew he was asking about the plans to go to the park today, "I did, sister-in-law said they’re not going, Chen Brother wants to sleep in, Chen Cheng wanted to go but was held back by his dad to finish homework." She had asked them a few days ago, but both Chen Family adults felt they might as well get some extra rest at home if they had time, so she let it be.

Li Hongjun nodded, "Then it’ll just be our family going."

After they finished eating, Shen Yunfang cleaned up after them, changed into a floral long skirt, and the family of four, hand in hand, left for a day of fun.

Taking the bus to the park, they bought tickets and strolled around.

In truth, there wasn’t much in the way of amusement facilities in the park at this time; at most, there was an artificial lake or a few rockeries. But for kids these days, that was enough.

Pangpang yelled excitedly at the sight of a rockery, insisting on climbing. With no other choice, Shen Yunfang took Manman to find a place to sit and rest, while Li Hongjun kept watch over Pangpang climbing the rockery.

When he reached the highest spot, he laughed nonstop as if he had accomplished something remarkable.

Once they had had their fill of climbing, they went to the lakeside, where boats were for rent. Fifty cents a boat, usually for an hour’s playtime, but since there weren’t many people, they could play as long as they wanted and just return the boat when done.

The water activities completely captivated the two youngsters at home; the water was dotted with lotus leaves. Pangpang shouted, "Daddy, go that way, let’s go dig for lotus roots." He had never seen nor eaten lotus roots before, but he knew from the little picture book his mommy drew for him that lotus roots grew under the lotus plants.

Li Hongjun nearly toppled over laughing at his son’s remark; what a kid he was, always thinking about food.
