Chapter 540: Chapter 530 Disrespectful in Old Age

Li Hongqi looked at the bustling scene in the classroom and felt incredibly vexed. Unlike Qiu Shuping’s shortsightedness, he had seen clearly as he entered the room that his second sister-in-law was talking seriously to a student about something, with a stern expression on her face—nothing at all like his mother had described, about sneaking around with someone.

But he didn’t manage to hold back his mother, and let her slap his second sister-in-law across the face. Judging by his sister-in-law’s expression, even an apology wouldn’t fix the situation now. He felt he had no choice but to stick to the narrative; if his mother said she was messing around, then she must be messing around.

"Hongqi, what do we do now? Why did your mom start hitting someone as soon as she came in?" Zheng Guilin had never seen such a fearsome mother-in-law and was genuinely frightened.

She exchanged a look with Mother Zheng, feeling somewhat relieved. The fighting power of rural old ladies wasn’t weak at all; it seemed they had initially refrained from acting out because of her family’s presence.

"You dont have to worry about it, I’ll handle this." Li Hongqi straightened his clothes and walked towards the classroom with decorum.

Shen Yunfang touched her cheek with her free hand, feeling the warmth of the slap. She narrowed her eyes dangerously at the old lady before her, "You dare to hit me!" From her past life to this one, having lived so many years, nobody had ever hit her, and today, this old lady had truly crossed the line.

"I hit you, so what? You’re shamelessly messing around right here in the open. For a mother-in-law to hit you is getting off light, you know that? Hmph, when my second son returns, I’ll make him divorce you. You better scram out of the Li Family fast to save us from disgrace," Qiu Shuping’s voice trembled slightly under Shen Yunfang’s gaze, but as she spoke, she became more convinced of her rightness and her courage swelled.

"Second sister-in-law, what are you doing? Let go of our mom right now. Even if she’s in the wrong, she is your elder. How can you lay hands on her?" At this moment, Li Hongqi walked over, trying to restrain his second sister-in-law to allow his mother to hit more conveniently. He had much experience in taking sides in such fights.

Shen Yunfang, having nowhere else to vent her fury, glared at the newcomer and kicked squarely towards Li Hongqi’s lower abdomen. Being conscious of her own strength and not wanting to cause a fatality, she restrained her force. Even so, her kick sent Li Hongqi staggering back to the entrance of the classroom.

He had just come from that spot, and now he had returned to the starting point.

"You... you dare kick my son? I’ll fight you to the bitter end," Qiu Shuping watched her beloved younger son kicked so far away, her heart wrenching with pain. She turned back, forgetting all fear, and lunged at Shen Yunfang with outstretched claws.

Shen Yunfang had been caught off guard the first time she was hit, not expecting trouble during class, but for Qiu Shuping to think she could strike her a second time was wishful thinking.

All it took was a flick of Shen Yunfang’s wrist, and she hurled the old lady in Li Hongqi’s direction, "Hmph, today has indeed enlightened me on what it means to show no respect for one’s age. Since you have no shame, don’t blame me for not showing any to you."

The Zheng family women standing at the door were stunned to see Li Hongqi get kicked over from such a distance. It was Mother Zheng who quickly recovered, nudging her daughter and whispering softly, "Xiaolan, what are you standing there for? Hurry up and check on Hongqi."

Only then did Zheng Guilin snap back to reality and rushed to the curled-up Li Hongqi, "Hongqi, Hongqi, what’s wrong? Where are you hurt? Tell me, Hongqi." Before she finished speaking, tears were already streaming down her face.

Li Hongqi was already reeling from Shen Yunfang’s kick and had just started to deal with the pain when Zheng Guilin threw herself on top of him, making him feel like dying all over again.

"It hurts, don’t... don’t press on me," Li Hongqi managed to say with difficulty.

"Hongqi, what are you saying? Stop talking, I know everything, I know it all." Zheng Guilin was too busy crying to hear what Li Hongqi was saying and continued to weep uncontrollably on his body.

Zheng’s mother watched the two from a distance, not daring to come closer, mainly because she was feeling apprehensive. She hadn’t expected the Li family members to be so formidable: just now, she saw Qiu Shuping slap her daughter-in-law, and she felt like she was no match. Now, seeing the seemingly delicate and frail second daughter-in-law of the Li family effortlessly knock down the large-framed Li Hongqi with a kick, it was like witnessing a living strength meter. She suddenly realized that her decision to accompany her daughter here might have been a mistake.

"Ah..." Li Hongqi let out a shrill scream.

Shen Yunfang had thrown Qiu Shuping onto him.

The people in the room were nearly deafened by his piercing scream.

"Xiaoshen, are you alright?" Teacher Cai came over with a displeased face and asked Shen Yunfang.

"I’m fine," Shen Yunfang replied calmly.

Seeing that his student was unharmed, Teacher Cai became somewhat annoyed and shouted, "What kind of people are these, daring to come into the classroom and cause a ruckus? Is there no law and order left? You all go to the security department right now and have someone come over to take these people to the police station. Such disruptors of social stability must be severely punished."

Shen Yunfang was the intern he was mentoring, essentially his apprentice. Teacher Cai had been pleased with Xiaoshen’s performance these past few days, so naturally, he stood up to intervene when someone came to trouble his apprentice. Besides, someone disrupting his class was something he couldn’t tolerate.

Hearing this, Shen Yunfang nodded in agreement; people like that really deserved a trip to the police station for some reeducation.

On the other side, the two lying on the ground weren’t paying attention to the conversation; Qiu Shuping was struggling to get up to check on her youngest son, who was squashed beneath her. His screams earlier had frightened her tremendously, for her only accomplished son was her future. If anything happened to him, what would she do?

"Son, how are you? Don’t scare me. Make a sound quickly," Qiu Shuping crouched next to her son, shaking him with her large hands.

Since that scream, Li Hongqi hadn’t made another sound, and his eyes remained tightly closed. This left Qiu Shuping at a loss, fearing he had passed out.

"Ah, Shen Yunfang, you shameless bitch, slut, bastard, you dare to hit my son, I’ll tear you apart," Qiu Shuping still remembered that it was Shen Yunfang who had caused her son’s condition.

But Shen Yunfang wasn’t afraid of her and, looking at her, snorted coldly, "Try to tear one bit of me and see." Did she really think Shen Yunfang was so easy to bully? It seemed that her display of strength earlier hadn’t been convincing enough.

Qiu Shuping, seeing her fearless demeanor and recalling her own second daughter-in-law’s seemingly high strength level, started to doubt whether she could actually win. She felt a sense of fear in her heart, "You, what do you mean by this? I am your mother-in-law, and you dare to defy me? Are you trying to turn the skies upside down? If you dare to lay a finger on me, I’ll go to your school’s leaders, to your teachers for justice. I’ll make you lose everything you have." She had learned these words from her son, who had said that if Shen Yunfang persisted in refusing to give them money, they would make her lose everything.
