Shen Yunfang saw Shen Yingxue in such a state, she knew that even if she told her she hadn’t written any whistleblowing letter to that Mr. Chen, Yingxue wouldn’t believe her. So, she simply didn’t bother explaining. However, having to watch someone cry and wail in front of her was annoying. Since only Xiaocui was around, Yunfang had no choice but to take matters into her own hands. She grasped Yingxue’s arm and dragged her, staggering, out of the office.
With a quick release of her hand, Shen Yingxue fell, sitting on the ground amidst her crying hysterics. Yunfang said indifferently, "If you really need to cry, I can’t stop you. So go ahead and cry your eyes out. There’s plenty of space here, and not many people. Even if you cry yourself blind, no one will come to gawk at you. Cry to your heart’s content." With that, she turned around and went back to her office.
"Xiaocui, thank you. There’s nothing more to see here; you can go back to the cafeteria," said Shen Yunfang, as she saw Xiaocui following behind her. She thanked her with a smile and sent her away before sitting down at her desk.
Thump... The office door was opened again by Shen Yingxue from the outside.
"Shen Yunfang, how could you treat me like this? You’ve made my life a misery, how could you do this to me?" Shen Yingxue, with tear-streaked face, appeared in the doorway of the office.
"I would advise you to think twice before acting. I have a bad temper and I prefer quiet around me. If it gets too noisy, I might lose my temper, and I can’t guarantee what I might do next," Shen Yunfang said as she pinched and cracked her fingers of her left hand with her right, making a snapping sound.
The threat was unmistakable. Shen Yingxue, remembering the kick she had just received and the dull pain in her lower abdomen, stopped mid-step. She didn’t want to back down, though. She was left with nothing now, and just as she had begun to enjoy the good life, it was abruptly cut short. She felt a significant blow both emotionally and physically.
Particularly this time, since she was with Chen Wanxiong, leveraging his influence, she had been quite the sensation in Z City. But with benefits, came conflicts. Before, people would back off out of respect for Mr. Chen’s face. I don’t even know what you’re trying to say. Does your so-called leader have any clout at all? If he had, wouldn’t be toppled by a single whistleblower letter, as flimsy as paper. If he’s not capable, well, I’m not you. Only you would be interested in such a useless man, so why would I be jealous of you? Can’t you straighten these thoughts out in your head before you speak? Your restaurant can’t keep going, and my farm’s got plenty of work to do; I haven’t got the time to waste on this nonsense with you. Also, don’t even try to threaten me.
