Chapter 82: 022: Powerful Assistance

Knowledge is power—this classic saying from the Wizard World was fully embodied in Lynch at this moment.

Fireball, Falling Stone Technique, Wind Blade, Dark Corrosion...

A flurry of low-level spells, formed by the convergence of four elements, erupted outward, transforming the entire cavern into his personal magic show.

And these weren’t just half-baked spells with superficial appearances—every single spell Lynch cast had reached the mastery level of Third Tier!

Faced with such an overwhelming barrage of mastered spells, the apprentices on the Blood Source Cult side stood no chance.

Avery, too, was exceptionally skilled at seizing the moment. Once Lynch broke the stalemate, she immediately adjusted strategies, directing the knights to execute a sweeping cleanup operation.

Under her orderly command, the previously deadlocked situation—where their side had even begun to slip into a disadvantage—instantly flipped around, leaving the Blood Source Cult utterly defenseless.

"Boom!"

Yet another booming explosion signaled a massive Fireball erupting against the Ausen Giant Python’s jaw.

The behemoth, towering like a small mountain, was thrown into convulsions, shrieking as it desperately pulled its head back.

"Aim for its jaw! That’s its weak spot!" Lynch quickly shouted to Avery.

The Ausen Giant Python’s scales were astoundingly durable, with a defense coefficient reaching a staggering 20 degrees. Even knights imbuing their weapons with Fighting Spirit could barely damage its scales. Attacking its armored exterior was almost futile, as hardly anyone present could inflict effective harm.

But all creatures have their weaknesses, and the Ausen Giant Python’s Achilles’ heel lay in its jaw. The area lacked substantial scale coverage, with its defense coefficient barely reaching 5 degrees.

Moreover, the jaw was situated near the python’s central brain—a definite killing blow if targeted successfully.

"Anderson, order your men to target the python’s jaw!"

Avery knew little about the giant python beyond its reputation as a terrifying magical beast. She had no knowledge of its specific vulnerabilities, as such obscure information was rarely studied by apprentices.

Nevertheless, seeing how the python reacted in pain to Lynch’s Fireball explosion, she had no trouble connecting the dots.

Not long ago, this seemingly invincible monster had single-handedly wiped out almost a third of their forces, including Edmund.

"Understood!"

Knight Anderson immediately swung his sword and charged toward the Ausen Giant Python, shouting as he ran, "Brian, Zacks, bring your men and switch to bows—follow me!"

The two knights called upon hurriedly led their squads out of the chaotic battlefield. Each carried a short bow and a few crossbow bolts, which they quickly drew under Anderson’s orders.

Stringing their bows and nocking their arrows, they unleashed a storm of projectiles toward the Ausen Giant Python.

The once-unbeatable python dodged most of the arrows but couldn’t evade them all—several struck its vulnerable jaw.

With a defense coefficient of just 5 degrees, the sharp bolts easily pierced the weak spot. The beast’s colossal body began trembling even more violently, utterly devoid of its former arrogance.

"It pierced through! Finally, it pierced through!"

"Keep shooting! Finish it off!"

The knights and soldiers burst into cheers. That monstrous creature had slaughtered many of their comrades earlier. Its impenetrable scales, combined with its immense strength, had driven the knights to the brink of despair.

But now, seeing the beast wounded, nothing could be more exhilarating.

In stark contrast, the Blood Source Cult felt as if they had plummeted from Heaven Mountain to the depths of the abyss.

Victory had seemed guaranteed. All they needed was to hold the line a bit longer—until Cavendish’s spiritual power was depleted, or an opportunity arose to take her out. The remaining apprentices and knights would then be effortless to dispatch.

Yet, at this critical juncture, a stray apprentice of unknown origins turned the tide single-handedly.

No one could fathom how an apprentice had mastered such a large repertoire of spells, let alone honed them all to mastery!

Their attacks were effortlessly neutralized by him, while his spells proved utterly unstoppable.

In mere minutes, half of the Blood Source Cult apprentices had been slaughtered, and the mounting death toll was clearly pushing them closer to total collapse.

Now even their trump card—the Ausen Giant Python—was left staggering, swaying weakly. The remaining apprentices were visibly frantic.

"Thomas, Aquila!!"

"We can’t keep going like this. We must lend our strength to the Ausen Giant Python!"

The apprentice who had spoken to Lynch shouted desperately at the two mid-level allies nearby. These two were the Cult’s last remaining mid-level apprentices on the battlefield.

The meaning of "lend" seemed to carry a specific implication, and the two apprentices hesitated visibly.

The speaker grew furious: "Do you want to die here?!"

This enraged roar finally broke down their reluctance. The two aprentices rushed toward the speaker without further delay.

At the same time, the Ausen Giant Python seemed to perceive something. Its massive tail swept across the area in a wide arc, forcing back the encroaching enemies before hastily moving toward the trio of apprentices.

As soon as the Python reached their location, a large magic array manifested on the ground, enveloping all of them within its glowing perimeter.

Each of the three apprentices stepped into positions at the Python’s front and flanks, chanting a string of strange and eldritch spell words.

Lynch furrowed his brows.

He had no idea what kind of tricks these Black Wizards were trying to pull, but he could clearly sense that the energy fluctuations from this magic array were far from ordinary. Using a spell to manipulate elemental energy suggested it was no trivial magic.

Just as he was about to notify Avery, it was evident she had already realized the danger. She promptly issued an order, "Take down those three—for the love of the Wizard World, quickly!"

"Leave it to me!"

The knights were positioned too far away, but Lucas happened to be the closest. He immediately surged forward, leaping high into the air and hammering his fist toward the trio.

"Boom!"

Just as Lucas’s punch seemed poised to crush them into pulp, a sudden magic barrier materialized around the three as well as the Ausen Giant Python, shielding them entirely. It was clearly a high-level defensive spell. n𝚘𝚟𝚙𝚞𝚋.𝚌o𝚖

Lucas threw punch after punch at the barrier, but the astonishingly resilient magic shield absorbed all his attacks without suffering significant damage.

Meanwhile, the spell inside the barrier appeared to be approaching completion.

With the final syllable of the apprentices’ chant, an eerie and unnatural scene unfolded within the shield, leaving everyone stunned...
