Chapter 107 -107: Why Can't This Suit Be Taken Off?
Back at the church, trouble had indeed struck, as large swarms of locusts and venomous snakes frenziedly tried to invade.
Qin Muye's face darkened, realizing that the person behind the scenes was not a fool; they didn't arrive in person but chose to reach out through casting a spell.
Their purpose was clear without needing to guess-it was undoubtedly because of the Evil Spirit of the pumpkin head he had hanged. This Evil Spirit was formidable in combat; had it not encountered Qin Muye, no one would have been able to overcome it.
Such life force it possessed, incredibly strong; it was still alive even now.
It seemed that upon noticing the return of Qin Muye and the others, the locusts and snakes lost their lead, quickly scattering, turning back into ordinary insects and animals.
"Is this all the strength they have?" Qin Muye felt as though this pesky creature was no different from a toad, intentionally trying to disgust him.
With his crimson crystalline pupils observing the remaining traces in the air, he attempted to find the culprit's traces. However, judging by the looks of it, the spell was cast from a
distance, leaving only a loose aura that was dissipating bit by bit.
"Tsk, what a pity," Qin Muye commented regretfully, and then he walked straight into the church. The ground inside was covered with the carcasses of snakes and locusts, but the pumpkin head Evil Spirit's skull and the bone knife were unharmed, still hanging on the wall.
"Master, you're back," a Spirit Monster greeted him, and the rest of the Spirit Monsters began clearing the ground.
Although these Evangelical Spirit Monsters had shifted towards combat capabilities, their inherent domestic abilities had not vanished, making their cleaning and clearing quite efficient.
"Hmm, everything alright?" Qin Muye inquired.
"All normal."
Soon after, the mayor also rushed in, "Is this... the Witch hiding outside of town that you mentioned, Father Andrew?"
"Exactly, Mr. Mayor, as you've seen, these people are utterly lawless, not even considering the law in the slightest," Qin Muye said with a hint of mockery in his tone.
Was this a slap to his own face? No, it was a slap to the mayor's face. The church where Qin Muye resided was not on the edges of Akman Town but rather towards the central area.
The commotion had been huge, visible to all town residents. What was truly struck was not Qin Muye's prestige, but the mayor's.
After all, he was a newcomer-what prestige could he have? When the time came, he could fully exploit the lean, ghostly Shadow to fill in the gaps, but could the mayor do the same?
Hearing Qin Muye's words, the mayor's face also appeared somewhat displeased. Initially unreactive, once it sunk in, the annoyance was real.
If this issue was not resolved, it would certainly cause panic within the town, as the Witch dared to attack both the priest and the church, which raised the question: what about them, the ordinary people?
Once panic set in, the impact on the town was undeniable.
Otherwise, did one really think that after such a major incident, life would just continue as usual?
If that were the case, wouldn't it mean that these people had unimaginably strong mental fortitude, or that there was something fundamentally wrong with the entire town? In such a scenario, the one who should panic would not be Qin Muye, but the mayor.
"I will find the whereabouts of this Witch as soon as possible. There should be some old people in the town who know," the mayor stated in a deep, resonant voice, clearly irritated without needing to listen for emotion.
"Old people? It seems this Witch is no spring chicken, but are you sure you can find out?" Qin Muye retorted.
This was not a simple matter; after all, it involved a being with Extraordinary Power.
It seemed that the culprit had mastered this pernicious aura and was even capable of exploiting it, unlike the aberrant Murderer Cecil who could only use it passively.
"Yes, I'll give you an answer tomorrow, Father Andrew, and at that time, I hope you will bring this Witch to justice!" the mayor declared firmly.
The existence of the Witch had begun to affect the mayor.
Of course, if Qin Muye hadn't reminded him, the mayor would have eventually noticed the townsfolk's panic through hindsight.
"Then I won't keep you any longer, Father Andrew, as I have official duties to attend to," the mayor said, and quickly left-he was off to pacify the townspeople.
Qin Muye didn't stop them, there was no reason for him to get in their way.
"Someone, follow that guy and see what secrets the old man is keeping, but be careful not to get caught," Qin Muye issued his orders.
An Evangelical Spirit Monster immediately began to mimic, its crimson robe collapsing instantly, and then a bird burst forth from the fallen robe and followed closely behind the
mayor.
About half an hour later, the Evangelical Spirit Monsters who had set out to capture the tall, thin shadow returned as well.
That shadow was indeed quite tall; Qin Muye estimated with the naked eye that it was at least 2.5 meters tall.
Speaking of which, that tall, thin shadow was quite unfortunate. As soon as it saw the Evangelical Spirit Monster, it went berserk. Apart from its slender limbs, black tentacles also grew out of its body.
Isn't that convenient, meeting a kindred spirit?
Then, from underneath the crimson robe of the Evangelical Spirit Monster, tentacles also emerged, not only longer than those of the tall, thin shadow but also thicker and more
numerous.
If it wasn't for the fact that the tall, thin shadow had no visible facial features and was dressed tightly in a suit, a very gross short film could have taken place right then and there.
However, even without that performance, the scene had left both Havier and Katie shaking, particularly on the way back. Katie, especially, feared that the Evangelical Spirit Monster accompanying her would suddenly extend its tentacles and do something unspeakable to her.
But the fact was, the Evangelical Spirit Monster said they lacked worldly desires since they were artificially created beastmen. They couldn't reproduce naturally and relied solely on synthetic creation, so naturally, they were devoid of corresponding emotions.
After Qin Muye briefly heard the story of how the Evangelical Spirit Monster beat up the tall, thin ghost shadow, he couldn't help but ponder: "It also possesses a third-tier troop strength, though it's a bit weak."
There is naturally a difference in combat strength between different troops. Unmodified spirits and Skeleton Soldiers are both of the first tier. If they fought, the unmodified spirits would certainly not be a match for the Skeleton Soldiers.
"It seems the instance has matched the corresponding strength, otherwise it wouldn't be such a coincidence."
"Forget it, I won't think about it anymore. Take off this thing's suit and hang it next to the pumpkin head. Then throw it into the basement. I'm going to take a good look at its
physiological structure."
As for the difficulty of the instance, Qin Muye didn't care at all. It all boils down to either being overpowered or victorious. There couldn't possibly be a third scenario where everything ends in a stalemate. A stalemate would essentially be a loss.
"Master, this doesn't seem to be a suit, but rather its skin, which can't be removed," said an
Evangelical Spirit Monster.
When they were beating up the tall, thin ghost shadow, they had already considered stripping off its suit but failed to do so; it was as if it had grown onto its body.
"This is too much trouble; just hang it up then. Since this thing is so tough, its life force is probably not bad either. Get some stakes and nails, and nail its limbs, tentacles, head, and everything else for me. Then, we can just study it like that."
He had figured it out; to study the physiological structure of the tall, thin ghost shadow, it wasn't necessary to put it in the basement. It was possible to study it openly and aboveboard.
"If all else fails, get me two welders, and have them weld it shut with rebar. Failing that, finding masons to seal it with cement will do just fine."
It didn't matter how strong its vitality was; if it were an immortal being, unless it had transcendental power, Qin Muye had plenty of ways to make it neither live nor die as it
wished.
For example, after filling it with cement, dumping it into the sea, or casting it in molten iron and then tossing it into outer space, and so on.
Moreover, it's about a creature that not even Qin Muye's... Evangelical Spirit Monsters could
overpower.
"Yes, Master. I will take care of it immediately, but I will need some money," an Evangelical Spirit Monster said.
Qin Muye casually took out his wallet and threw it over: "Use whatever you need."
How to say it, after all, the money was indeed safer with the Evangelical Spirit Monster than with Qin Muye himself. Apart from his magical power, Qin Muye's physical fitness, reaction ability, and so forth were all on the level of an ordinary person, far from being a match for the combat power of an Evangelical Spirit Monster.
Afterwards, Qin Muye turned his attention to the tall, thin ghost shadow, which was being held down without the ability to move.
Last night, he had almost finished studying the head of the pumpkin-headed Evil Spirit, and now a new subject had just been delivered to his door.
"Tian Qi, come here and hold it down. If this thing moves, just hit it with your tentacles," Qin Muye instructed, knowing he was no match for the tall, thin ghost shadow, whereas Tian Qi
was.
Tian Qi nodded, and his crimson robe began to wriggle. Tentacles spread out, restraining the limbs and tentacles of the tall, thin ghost shadow. With the assistance of other Evangelical Spirit Monsters, Qin Muye then took out a scalpel, considering opening up the creature for a
thorough examination.
