Chapter 110 -110: Hell Preacher and the Incoming Iron Blood Warrior
"This town mayor has quite a background, if we didn't push him, we might still think he's just a middle-aged man with a beer belly and a bald head," Qin Muye listened to the noise outside, it seemed he was seeking help from some force, there was no case of disbelief or disdainful misunderstandings occurring.
Fortunately, the mayor was also intelligent, and the forces behind him didn't come to Qin Muye's church to enforce any coercive actions, presumably, they were strategically cautious.
Were they to come over, chances are the Spirit Monsters would beat them up, other Spirit Monsters might fear firearms and bullets, but the Evangelical Spirit Monsters truly weren't afraid, being mimicry experts themselves.
A crow flew in through the church window, transforming into an Evangelical Spirit Monster. This Evangelical Spirit Monster was originally dispatched by Qin Muye to monitor the mayor and had now returned.
After receiving a Crimson Robe handed over by another Evangelical Spirit Monster and putting it on, he then said, "Master, I've gathered clear intelligence. The mayor is backed by the Hell Church, and they share a similar nature with the Church Court, one in the light and one in the shadows, the mayor is responsible for guarding the Hell Gate's sealing in Akman Town."
"The personnel arranged this time are from the Hell Church, but I suspect that the mayor might have already sided with Hell long ago, hence deliberately allowing all these horror monsters and murderers to roam around, even leveraging the Hell Church's influence to deliberately tout Akman Town as a tourist destination to attract visitors."
This Evangelical Spirit Monster briefly shared the intelligence gathered during this period. "Are there any extraordinary powers?" Qin Muye posed the critical question.
He knew a bit about the Hell Church and the Church Court from the books left by the witch. Both were leveraging the Power from Hell, another plane, to achieve transcendence. In recent years, due to the Industrial Revolution and the rise of technology civilization, they had gone underground, reducing their visible influence gradually and entering into politics.
This meant that despite its hellish sounding name, the Hell Church was actually a formal organization with a good relationship with the Church Court, not a villainous organization.
Moreover, it seemed that these two forces used the Hell Power selectively, so unlike typical murderers, they were not affected.
"Yes, a group of spikey-haired preachers dressed in leather, very perceptive, with notable strength," the Evangelical Spirit Monster said decisively.
"..." This time, Qin Muye was speechless. Great, the Hell Church's preachers are the spikey- headed ones from 'Hellraiser', the Church Court probably doesn't have those, could they be vampires?
And indeed, that was possible since both are from Hell.
Perhaps more accurately, what the Hell Church possessed might not be just spikey-headed preachers but could be something like Lemarchand's Box used to open the Hell Gate, meaning there are other types of Hell Preachers as well.
"It seems the Hell Church has mastered the means to mass-manufacture and control the Hell Preachers, but why do you say the mayor has sided with Hell? He's been quite efficient in his work," Qin Muye was rather puzzled, the Evangelical Spirit Monster's explanation seemed contradictory.
If the mayor had sided with Hell, then why notify the Hell Church? Wouldn't it be better to let the aliens grow stronger?
"To open the sealing under the church and access the Hell Gate, sufficient Hell Power mixed with fear is needed, so once the aliens do as you said, Master, the whole town would be destroyed, and he wouldn't have enough time to unseal the Hell Gate."
"If there were no aliens, this witch incident would have been the perfect catalyst, and in a little while, the mayor would have been able to proceed with the unsealing ritual, but now it's too late."
To sum up, there's just not enough time to complete the loading.
So, for his own unsealing plan, he had to allow the Hell Church to intervene. For him, Qin Muye and the Evangelical Spirit Monsters posed no significant threat.
Or to say, even with Hell Preachers stationed locally, unsealing a Hell Gate doesn't necessarily mean getting close to it. As long as the conditions are met, it could entirely be done remotely.
The mayor might even prefer having more people from the Hell Church and the Church Court around, as, after unsealing the Hell Gate, he could directly sacrifice these core resistance forces to Hell, thus gaining more blessings from Hell.
Once the Hell Gate is unsealed, everything would become predetermined.
Thus, time was critical for the mayor, hence why he reported it, otherwise, by the time the Hell Gate of Akman Town was unsealed, the Hell Church might only then learn of the mayor's betrayal.
However, it was precisely because of this concern that the Church had arranged for Andrew to come to this town, serving both a visible and a hidden role, also implying a check on the mayor's power.
"I understand now, this old fox is really crafty, seemingly suppressed by all sorts of demons and spirits, but in reality, he is using them to further his own development, tsk, but he really can endure, not a trace of Hell Power on him."
Qin Muye couldn't help but sigh. The mayor's actions were equivalent to Hell giving him a blank check, which the mayor not only accepted but even brought his own provisions with him.
It was probably a promise of some sort that the mayor couldn't refuse, and his actions were really like dancing on the edge of a knife, needing to guard against investigations from both the Hell Church and the Church, and also having to avoid a massacre from those terrifying monsters, murderers, witches, and other bearers of Hell Power.
This was a very delicate balance, yet the mayor managed it skillfully and even used Qin Muye's arrival to make this balance more stable.
Thinking about all this, Qin Muye felt overwhelmed. He needed a corresponding strategist; a behind-the-scenes manipulator would do, but he was actually better at governance and diplomacy, not planning.
"Master, should we take action now?" Tian Qi, seeing Qin Muye deep in thought, couldn't help but ask.
"Take action? What action?" Qin Muye didn't catch on and then asked back.
"Didn't you want to get the alien? What if these Hell Preachers eliminate it? Wouldn't it be better if we take initiative and capture the Alien Queen before the Hell Preachers do? After that..." Tian Qi was saying but was interrupted by Qin Muye.
"There's no rush to act, send some people out to monitor these Hell Preachers' movements. This alien is no longer a normal extraterrestrial being; it is a weapon of slaughter, and now, combined with Hell Power, I fear even those Hell Preachers might not be a match for it." Qin Muye knew not to act rashly.
He decided to wait and see how things would unfold. If the Hell Preachers had the upper hand, then he would let the Evangelical Spirit Monster mimic and snatch the alien.
If the alien had the upper hand, they would naturally launch a destructive strike.
It just so happened that Qin Muye didn't know where the alien was, so letting the Hell Preachers search first would save him some time.
As for who was stronger, how could Qin Muye know that? He had never met either the Hell Preachers or the alien, so he had no basis to judge their strength.
Knowing only that one was a killing machine powered by Hell Power and the other a
combatant produced by the Hell Church, he didn't have to worry about their fighting
capability.
Before Qin Muye could analyze further, he suddenly felt the ground shake and heard a tremendous noise.
"What's happening?" Qin Muye hurriedly asked.
One of the Evangelical Spirit Monsters that had been standing guard outside the church hurried in and said, "Master, a meteorite has fallen in the wilds north of Akman Town, but it
doesn't look like a meteorite to me."
"How big was it?" Qin Muye was particularly concerned about this.
The Evangelical Spirit Monster naturally answered truthfully, "It's about the size of several churches, and it looked like a spearhead as it fell straight down."
In that moment, Qin Muye immediately realized that this was no meteorite, but a Cosmic Ship
of Iron Blood Warriors.
"Never mind the alien and the Hell Preachers, focus on capturing the Iron Blood Warriors. This is an extraterrestrial civilization capable of cosmic travel, its value far surpasses these two things." Qin Muye was extremely excited and decisively changed targets.
One didn't need to think hard to know it was a cosmic ship. If a meteorite that large had really struck, the entire town of Akman would have been destroyed; how could it still be intact?
And if they could acquire the Iron Blood Warrior's technology civilization, not to mention anything else, even if it's just an instance failure and direct return to Magic Continent, it would be a massive gain.
He didn't believe that a bunch of 6th-tier Divine beings and Mages could match these high-
tech civilization; if they really were that strong, there would be no need to fear Qin Muye's Crimson Invasion, they would have taken action long before to show Qin Muye what true
cruelty was.
From this, it's obvious that the Magic Continent's Energy Level is actually far below that of
this Horror Universe.
