“I’ll wash your back.”
“Oh, yes.”
In the bathroom, Litty had her back rubbed by Ilysis, which reminded her of what her mother used to do for her when she was in Ruiz Village.
It felt strangely comforting, and she wondered if she should go back to her village at least once. Ilysis reached for the other parts of her body, breaking Litty’s line of thought.
“Ilysis-san?”
“Since we’re here, let’s wash more than just your back.”
“I’m fine! I’m not a child. I can wash myself.”
“You’re still a child to me, you know?”
“Is this what Illysis-san think of me, too?”
“Yes. Did someone else also tell you that?”
As Litty told her about what Jennifer said, Ilysis burst out laughing, clutching her stomach. Ilysis found it so funny that she could have laughed forever.
Litty immediately became pouty and thought of a counterattack. She picked up a scrubber and was about to start scrubbing Illysis’s body.
“Whew, I haven’t laughed like that in a long time. Although she wasn’t wrong, there is nothing bad about it at all… Ahhh…”
“I’m not a child, so I’ll wash you as well.”
“In short, you were frustrated that you were told by someone that you didn’t have the makings of a dancer compared to Roma, right?”
“That’s right. I didn’t expect to be told that before I can even try.”
“Well, I think it couldn’t be helped with how you are right now.”
Litty was never concerned in regard to whether she was attractive or not as a girl. She simply didn’t like being treated as a child or having Jennifer tell her that she was no good.
Ilysis had mixed feelings about Litty’s situation. She felt the reason Litty was upset was less about her being called childish but more about Jennifer’s lack of interest in her in being a Dancer.
But as the leader of the Knight Order, Ilysis could not help but give her own evaluation of Litty as well.
“I also think that Roma will make a better Dancer than you. But Litty, don’t forget that you have your own talent.”
“What do you mean?”
“You are a Physical Monster. In particular, your physical abilities are beyond extraordinary, perhaps even surpassing those of a Beastmen. It has been said that heroes of the past were born with this trait.”
“Hero…”
“The number of jobs inscribed on your adventurer card are extraordinary. Even the mightiest of men have to choose between jobs carefully, just as a man who is known as a sword saint may not have a talent for archery.”
Ilysis grabbed Litty’s arm and patted it. Litty felt ticklish, but did not resist as Ilysis looked serious.
Further on, Ilysis checked Litty’s flesh on her calves and thighs.
“Even with my current strength, I can still be considered a normal person. I don’t think I’ll lose to anyone in the country when it comes to swordsmanship, but when it comes to spears… or long weapons, Charl from Red Flag will surpass me.”
“You know Charl-san?”
“Red Flag has helped us many times. If they work hard to make themselves known outside the country, they could even reach Special rank.”
“They’re great, aren’t they!”
“I want to tell you, Litty, that you are far more talented than we are. You can be considered a monster, albeit in its earlier stages.”
Litty could tell from Ilysis’s expression that this was no joke. She could not shake the grip that Ilysis had on her arm. It felt as if Ilysis was trying to hold her down.
Unable to shake it off, Litty felt as if she was being controlled.
“It’s the same with today’s training in pairs. I honestly thought it would take you a little longer to adapt. Your opponents, Leloute and Arwin, hardly spoke about it after that… but along with Demetre, they are still staying behind and practicing on their own just to make sure they can match your pace…”
