“Hiiiiiiiii!”

Redner rotated his weapon. While cutting through the air, it created wind and noise that resembled a storm. If he increased the momentum even more, it might certainly be able to create a storm that could hit its target.

“You’re dead! You’re not going to be safe! What? Admit that you are sorry! I’m… I’m… I’m…”

“Admit that I am sorry, you say! I see, I see!” 𝔫𝖔𝖛𝖕𝔲𝔟.𝔠𝖔𝖒

Heilman was not the only one frightened. Even the 1st Rank Monster was moving its hind legs, turning its long nose away from Redner, who was smaller than it was.

Heilman could sense that the beast did not want to get close to Redner.

“I’ll come back for you!”

The elephant carrying Heilman turned back with the intention of returning to their homeland. But before it could move, Redner jumped up, landing near Heilman’s back and grabbed him by the neck.

With his arm around Heilman’s neck, there is no way for him to escape.

“Help me! He, help me!”

“So, did you come here to free the Saint, huh? I won’t agree with that. But well, thinking about it, if we leave the saint imprisoned in our country for a long time, chaos will inevitably break out. I am sure that people from your country would want to rescue her during that time. Looking at it right now though, why did your country send only one messenger? What is happening there right now? Would you mind telling me?”

“No, of course, that’s not true…”

“Or could it be that there is something else going on?”

Heilman’s blood ran cold. It was obvious to Redner that what he said was right.

Redner pointed his thumb behind him. With that as a signal, a large group of people held by the Knights arrived at their location. Heilman understood who they were.

“Those over there, I don’t think they are followers of the Mathias religion…”

“Is that so… you see, there have been some disturbances in the Royal Capital recently. I gave them tacit approval thinking that it must have been just my imagination. But then, I found these people were sneaking around and even stalking young girls. They would even sometimes bring those girls in buildings hidden from the public eye.”

“You guys! I told you not to do anything as obvious as that…aaaaahhhh!”

Heilman, who had his neck tightened, made a muffled noise as if his neck were about to be crushed. Redner jumped down from the back of the Great King of Rage, not caring about Heilman’s pale face.

After finally releasing Heilman, who was close to the point of being a dead insect, Redner crouched down to face him.

“And yet, our King is going to let you come to the negotiation table. I don’t want to make it sound like a bad deal. We want to be on good terms with each other, don’t we? If you want something from me, I will listen, but you have to also agree with my terms. Of course, I don’t want you to show me all the cards you have. But be careful, I will be watching.”

“Ye, yes, I understand…”

Heilman, having given up on the idea of forcing his way to free the saint, now had no more energy to even defend himself. He had intended to instruct the faithful with some information regarding the saint while trying to prevent any information leakage.

At times, he would use cryptic gestures to convey his message, as if his group was playing a game of “Communication”.

There was no doubt that his efforts of using the worshipers had backfired. However, it was a complete miscalculation on Heilman’s part to be further used by Redner to shake things up in Restona.

“The release of the Saint, and what’s the other thing again? Anyway, I invite you to the castle, so walk quickly. I’ll leave the monster there in our custody and spare its life, but make sure that someone keeps an eye on it just in case. Ilysis!”

“Ha!”

“Kill that creature if necessary at your discretion.”

“Yes, sir!”

Ilysis looked up at the elephant monster with an inward sigh. She could not calm down when she imagined the depths of the country of Restona, where the Great King of Rage was kept in captivity.

She hoped that things wouldn’t get worse regarding this matter as she thought about the X-Piece crew and the journey that they were about to partake in.
