"I am just looking out for the foreigner, Nirina. Look at him, he looks unprepared to take the test, and he wants to register to be an adventurer?" Steven maintained his smug smile while shaking his head, "If he died as a member of our Adventure Guild, then it will ruin our guild image. What if the people lose trust in us and stop posting the quest because of one person?"

"I don't know you care about our guild's image, Steven!" "Since when do you care about the guild and the people, Steven." "Our Steven is more caring than we thought!"

The other adventurers raised their voices while laughing, clearly joking around.

Tang Shaoyang shrugged and turned toward the counter. Sure enough, a red-haired beauty in a black and white uniform looked upset. As he guessed, a beauty tried to help the newbie. But then he noticed all the attendants behind the counter were beauties, all of them. He found three beastmen and two elves as well.

"Don't mind them. You can still register, but you still need to pass the test," The beauty attendant smiled at Tang Shaoyang.

He ignored Steven and walked toward the counter. However, Steven did not let it slide, taking two big steps toward Tang Shaoyang and pulling his shoulder once more, "Do you dare to ignore me?"

Tang Shaoyang turned toward Baldy, still smiling and shaking his head. "Then what am I supposed to do? What do you expect me to do? Punch your face?"

Steven was stupefied, not expecting such a reaction. He expected the newbie to be at him, and he would like to vent his frustration because of his recent failure in the quest. He blinked his eyes, and didn't know what to do. Then he heard laughter behind him, his friends and the other adventurers were laughing so hard that turned his face red. He was embarrassed and looked at the newbie.

Tang Shaoyang shrugged and approached the counter, "So what's the requirement to register, miss?"

Nirina smiled and took out a card made of unknown steel. She placed the card in front of Tang Shaoyang, "You just need to drop your blood on the card, then take the test." 𝖓𝔬𝔳𝔭𝔲𝔟.𝖈𝖔𝔪

It was more simple than he thought. He dropped his blood on the card. To his surprise, his name appeared on the card, but it did not show his rank. Nirina was about to explain something, but Steven shouted from behind, raising the voice higher. Once more, Steven pulled his left shoulder.

"You dare to embarrass me!"

He raised his right hand at the newbie and sent a punch to the newbie's face.

In Tang Shaoyang's eyes, the punch was so slow that he could easily avoid it. However, he did not do so. If the fist hit his face, he had the justification to hit back, a fist for a fist. That was a fair trade.

Before the fist hit his face, something broke, and he looked up. There was a hole above him, someone came down from above by breaking the floor. The same person who came down stopped the fist from hitting Tang Shaoyang's face, right eight cm away from his face.

Tang Shaoyang looked at the person who stopped the fist. A green-haired woman, an elf, wearing formal clothes with a name tag on her left chest, Levine. Her eyes were cold, there was anger in her gaze. He was surprised that the female elf was mad at him instead of Baldy. He had not done anything yet.

"What's your purpose for coming here? I saw you with The Guard Captain before coming to our guild. Does that the army bast*rd send you to spy on us?" The female elf questioned him.

It was just getting even more confused, and as he guessed. There was always a political way with the army. They even had a problem with the Adventure Guild for someone in a higher rank in the guild to question him like this just because she saw him with one of the guards.

"I am here to be an adventurer, and I have nothing to do with the army. The guard is escorting me because I don't know where the guild is."

The female elf remained suspicious of Tang Shaoyang, squinting her eyes at him, "Then why do you join our guild? You are a God Rank. The nobles would be willing to hire you if what you need is money. I bet they will offer their daughters even to have another God Rank in their house."

When the word God Rank came out of her mouth, the adventurers gasped in surprise. Even Steven widened her eyes in shock, all color drained from his face, and his mouth gaped open, could not believe what he heard.

Tang Shaoyang was surprised at first, wondering how the female elf knew he was a God Rank. But he quickly found out how the female elf found out. He turned back, taking the steel card from the counter. The card did not show his rank, just his name. But maybe the guild had something on the card that could be used to identify his rank.

"If a God Rank is that valuable, shouldn't you persuade me to join the guild instead of antagonizing me?"

"You are a spy!" The female seemed to realize it, but she quickly struck back. She was convinced that Tang Shaoyang was a spy.

"Sure, the army or the noble will send one of the God Ranks to be a spy. That's a good idea, no one will find out that I am their spy," He rolled his eyes, and replied sarcastically.

"Then why are you trying to incite a fight inside the Adventure Guild? You can stop him easily, and you let him be!" She was talking about the Baldy who slowly stepped back from them, but the female was quick, grabbing his wrist and pulling him closer.

"I don't understand how your head works, Miss Levine. I haven't done anything. What do you expect me to do? Hit him in the head and then what? Get my ass kicked out of the guild? Will you let me register to your guild if I knock out one of your adventurers? So, it's my fault that one of your adventurers harassed me."

"Or what? Do you want me to yell my rank, flaunting my rank that I am a God Rank like an idiot?" Tang Shaoyang rolled his eyes.

'Women, they are hard to understand.' He thought to himself.

"You know we can have a conversation in private instead of accusing me like this?"

Levine thought about what the man said, and she could not find fault in the man. She agreed with what the man said. She could be suspicious, but her action of calling him out in public like this was unnecessary. Her anger toward the army made her act on her impulse.

"He is right, Levine. We should talk in private instead of making a ruckus like this," Another voice rang, and the voice came from the stairs.

Another elf similar to Levine, coming down from the second floor. This male elf had blond hair instead of green. He had a smile and had an apologetic expression.

Levine let out a sigh and turned toward Baldy, "This will be your last warning, Steven. If you ever dare to make trouble in the guild again, I will make sure to get your ass kicked out of the guild, understand?"

The cocky and smug Steven was long gone. The Bulky Baldy cowered, lowering his gaze as he nodded in response. Levine saved his life for sure. If Levine did not stop him and his fist hit the new— God Rank, it would justify the God Rank's retaliation, and he did not dare imagine what kind of retaliation awaited him.

Tang Shaoyang was brought to the fourth floor by the two elves. He looked at the door, noticing the sign with the Guild Master Office written on it. They brought him to meet the Guild Master. He expected the Guild Master to be another elf or maybe a beastmen since they had a conflict against the nobles. It might be related to racial things, but to his surprise, the Guild Leader was a human, a woman.

The Guild Master or maybe he should address her as Guild Mistress instead, had long black hair down to her butt, wavy, shiny, and soft. Her eyes were sharp, slightly glowing in blue that gave off a wild vibe. Her skin was white milky smooth with sculpted cheekbones, and an elegant high-bridged nose. It was another beauty, even more superior than the elves and the attendants on the first floor. She did not look like a Guild Master, but a supermodel. Despite her elegance, the Guild Master gave off an impression of power and authority.

"Another one is enraptured by our Guild Master's beauty," The male elf said in a teasing tone.

Tang Shaoyang smiled instead of getting embarrassed, and even praised the Guild Master, "She is indeed a beauty."

The male elf expected to catch the man off guard to fish out more information, but he was surprised that the man was not flushed in embarrassment. If the man was embarrassed or panicked, he might get one or two pieces of information before the talk.

"I don't have that much time, so let's clear the misunderstanding and get me registered in your guild, shall we?"

"You are a player, right? Might the first player to arrive on this floor," The Guild Master said out of nowhere.

The male elf smiled understandingly as he guessed the man might be a player because of the high rank. Levine was surprised as she did not expect the man to be a player.

"I am not sure whether I am the first player to arrive on this floor, but yes, I am a player," Tang Shaoyang confirmed, "Can you get me registered so I can get my quest? I don't really have that much time. I need to climb as fast as I can."

"Why? Are you in trouble? Is someone after your life?" Levine questioned suspiciously and ended her speech with a statement, "I don't think we should involve our guild in an outsider conflict."
