Chapter 608: 608, Infatuation, The Darkness Before Dawn 2

As she spoke, Han Qianqian placed her hand on her father’s chest, rhythmically helping him to regulate his breathing.

Han Wen looked at his daughter with a twisted mouth, his gaze was filled with sorrow, helplessness, love, and reluctance to part with her.

His eyes began to moisten slowly and at last, tears were almost about to stream down his face.

His gaze shifted slowly, then he looked straight at Shi Yuhuan, his eyes pleading. Then he glanced at Han Qianqian and finally rested his eyes on Shi Annuo.

After a while, he looked back at Shi Yuhuan.

With cold eyes, Shi Yuhuan asked softly, “Uncle Han, I understand what you mean. You want Qianqian to marry Annuo. You want me to take good care of them, protect them, right?”

“Uh huh~~” Han Wen continued to make this strange sound.

Shi Yuhuan nodded and said with a firm, low voice, “Rest assured, Annuo is my brother. I’ve promised my mother to take care of him. As for Qianqian, if she is to marry Annuo, naturally without your instruction, I will care for her like I care for Annuo.”

Han Wen looked somewhat moved and blinked in relief.

He tugged at the corners of his mouth, as if he wanted to smile at Shi Yuhuan, but before he could, his face suddenly distorted in intense pain, causing him to spasm uncontrollably.

“Dad,” Han Qianqian’s eyes widened in fear, and she quickly grabbed Han Wen’s hand,” Don’t get upset, the doctor said you mustn’t have any emotional fluctuations!” 𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙥𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝙤𝒎

Gulping down heavy breaths, Han Wen gave Shi Yuhuan a stern look, never blinking, as if he still had something to say.

Shi Yuhuan sat down at the edge of the bed, noticing that Han Wen seemed to want to lift his hand, but just couldn’t.

His gaze softened slightly. Suddenly, from Han Qianqian’s grip, he took Han Wen’s hand into his own.

Han Wen’s breath began to quicken, his trembling fingers scrawling something across Shi Yuhuan’s palm.

He was trying to write something.

Not knowing what he had written, Shi Yuhuan looked somewhat confused, his eyes riveted on Han Wen.

After a while, he balled up his other hand into a fist and pressed it to his lips, furrowing his brows.

Regaining his senses and seeing that Han Wen was on the verge of his end, Shi Yuhuan quickly turned to Han Qianqian, “Quick, call the doctor!”

Without waiting for Han Qianqian to act, Shi Annuo had already pressed the call button, whereas Han Qianqian kneeled by the bed, leaning over Han Wen’s body, and cried out, “Dad, Dad…”

Just when the doctor quickly rushed in, Han Wen chuckled. It seemed like he had finished conveying his wishes.

He tried to raise his hand, as though wanting to touch his daughter’s face, but stopped mid-air.

Then, his hand fell limply, his smile froze, and his wide-open eyes slowly closed.

“Dad!” Han Qianqian was stunned. At that moment, her throat was choked as if someone was squeezing it, and she couldn’t breathe.

The doctor quickly stepped forward, lifted the eyelid of Han Wen, and checked his dilated pupils.

After a moment, he looked at both Shi Yuhuan and Han Qianqian and shook his head.

Han Qianqian shook her head, shouting aloud, “No, No! Dad, wake up, Dad, don’t leave me alone…”

She covered her mouth and started sobbing painfully. Her hoarse voice resounded through the entire building.

Shi Annuo came from behind and held her tightly, “Qianqian, Qianqian…”

Tears of grief rolled down his face as he comforted Han Qianqian by calling her name.

Shi Yuhuan’s gaze grew slightly heavier. He looked at Han Wen, then at the palm of his own hand, and slowly clenched his fist.
