Chapter 978 -981: Unwelcome Guest (2) (Extra 1)
However, the man slightly furrowed his brows upon hearing her words.
Aunt?
He briefly reminisced before eventually finding the memory of this auntie, who had barely spoken a few words to him, among his primary personality’s recollections.
An unfamiliar and ordinary relative who was especially noisy and liked to act superior due to age.
Having sorted out the first personality’s impression of this auntie, Aidan Lucas reached the aforementioned conclusion.
“This is Lily Redington, my girlfriend.” In order to formally acknowledge the woman, the man suppressed his impatience and introduced her to the old lady.
The grandmother looked at Lily’s delicate and innocent face, finding her beautiful and simple, and immediately took a liking to her.
What the old lady liked the most were girls who seemed sweet and delicate.
“Very good, very good, she’s a nice child… Come, come, sit next to me later, your aunt loves little girls like you the most.”
The stubborn Aidan Lucas had finally been willing to bring a girlfriend home, and even if she wasn’t close with Aidan Lucas, she would coddle this girlfriend for Emily’s sake.
No sooner had the old lady finished speaking than two voices rang out simultaneously behind her.
“No, I disagree!”
“Grandma, Paul wants to sit next to you, Paul doesn’t want to leave you!” 𝓃𝓸𝓿𝓹𝓾𝓫.𝓬ℴ𝓶
Both a young and an old voice came from Emily Taylor and Charles Taylor.
“Paul, stop it…” Milly Gray immediately realized what was happening and grabbed Charles Taylor.
“No, no, Paul just wants to sit with grandma! Grandma, Paul wants a hug, Paul wants a hug…”
Charles Taylor, for some inexplicable reason, kicked his little legs and waved his little fists, refusing to let the old lady get close to Lily and Ben Lucas.
Milly Gray could usually calm him down, but today, nothing would work.
This distressed the old lady greatly, and she forgot all about Lily and immediately turned back to soothe Charles Taylor.
Meanwhile, Emily Taylor had already made her way out of the crowd.
“Ethan, I disagree!” She stood in front of Lily and declared her position firmly.
“I absolutely do not consent to your dating this woman. I consent even less to you marrying this woman into our house! This is my birthday party, I do not welcome her, tell her to leave!”
Wasn’t one betrayal of their Lucas family enough, they should suffer a second time?
Emily Taylor’s eyes, when looking at Lily, held wariness and resentment.
She had already made it so clear to Lily Gray last time; why was she still relentlessly pursuing this?
“You disagree?” The man slightly furrowed his brows, then relaxed them, “It doesn’t matter – I’m the one marrying her, not you.”
“You… Ethan, remember I am your mother!” Emily’s eyes were filled with tears, her face one of disbelief, “What’s so good about this woman, do you know, she—”
“What about her?” The man looked down, his gaze coldly falling on his birth mother.
He had brought the woman here not only to give her a rightful status but also in the hope of learning some truths about the past from either Emily Taylor or someone else present.
The woman had so far refused to reveal her identity, certainly hiding something secret.
She wasn’t willing to tell, and of course, he wouldn’t force her.
But this didn’t mean that he wouldn’t use a ploy to extract information from others.
“She… she intentionally had plastic surgery to look like the original Lily Gray. Ethan, this woman has bad intentions, you can’t fall for her trap!”
Emily Taylor couldn’t expose the truth of Lily Gray not being dead in front of everyone, so she could only say it this way.
“So what if she did, I don’t care.”
“You… Ethan, you can’t be so selfish, if you marry such a deceitful woman, aren’t you afraid of what she might do to Ben?”
Emily Taylor knew Lily Gray would not mistreat Ben, but she genuinely could not accept her returning to the Lucas family.
