NOVPUBAmid the chaos caused by Rudy himself, he was once again attacked by the lightning, but this time, he was prepared and caught the lightning bolt in his hand.
Although his intention was to block the attack, he didn't expect to catch an actual lightning bolt.
"I thought I would feel a current, but it feels like I am holding a phone that's on vibrate mode," he muttered.
Rudy pulled his hand back and prepared to shoot the flying object with the lightning bolt.
"I won't expect to hit it since hitting a moving object is hard, but let's try it. I am more worried about the thunderstorm than a harmless flying object or whatever that is."
Rudy launched the lightning bolt, hoping it would at least scare the flying object. However, much to his surprise, the lightning bolt landed perfectly on the object even though it tried to fly away.
Rudy didn't waste a single second and soared into the sky, pulling his punch and preparing to hit the flying object with all his might. Sure, he would have thought of holding back, but since it survived the lightning attack, Rudy was sure that it would survive his punch, too.
Rudy had no comprehension of how strong he was.
The moment he moved his much forward, everything around him was sucked in, as though it was the entrance of a Blackhole. While the flying object also prepared its attack.
When Rudy was at a close distance with the flying object, he had a better look at it. It wasn't an object, but a person in a highly advanced suit.
Instinctively, Rudy activated his supervision and had a look at who was inside the suit— and at the same time, the person in the suit halted its attack—seemingly after looking at Rudy.
Then, simultaneously, they both uttered, "What… the… fuck?!"
The person under the suit was none other than Erika, Rudy's supposed girlfriend, who was on another continent.
Although Rudy stopped his punch, the power generated by it was sucked in by the thunderstorm, making it more powerful.
"Rudy?! What are you doing here?!" Erika asked, shock clear in her voice.
"What about you? How are you… I thought you were on the other side of the planet!"
"I was, but…" Erika stopped and glanced at the thunderstorm. "Let's take care of that first."
"Yeah."
Rudy and Erika flew near the thunderstorm, but it was so powerful that Erika lost control of her flight and struggled to maintain her spot.
"It's too strong! If I get any closer, I am afraid my suit will be damaged!" Erika shouted while her voice was silenced by the roar of the thunder. But Rudy heard it clearly thanks to his powers.
Rudy could see Erika was having trouble breathing and her jet boots had begun to flicker.
'She won't be able to hold for any more than a minute. I need to think of a way to get rid of it.'
"How did a disaster level thunderstorm appear out of nowhere?" Erika muttered to herself. "I can't call for help either. It's not something that can be dealt with magic."
'I guess it's too late to tell her about the culprit. I will just play dumb and act along.' Rudy was careless using his powers, and he had realized that.
'I should act rationally from now on. What if I accidentally cause an earthquake and kill thousands?'
Erika turned to Rudy and said, "I will contact my people and the local authorities here and ask them to evacuate the area as soon as possible. We are lucky that the thunderstorm was formed in the middle of nowhere or we would have already lost the lives of thousands."
"Yeah…"
"You should get out of here too! You can't fight nature. It's ruthless!"
"I will be right behind you." Rudy nodded.
Erika flew away from the thunderstorm and called her team. Meanwhile, Rudy hovered in the sky, staring at the thunderstorm with a serious look on his face, as though he was lost in a deep thought.
"My powers let me do whatever I want… but I didn't mean to create a thunderstorm. Is my power listening to my thoughts or emotions? I can control my thoughts to a certain degree, but how am I supposed to control my emotions? I can hide my feelings and act emotionless, but I do feel emotions. How am I supposed to fool my powers?"
Rudy moved closer to the thunderstorm, and with every passing second, he could feel his body becoming heavy, as though he had suddenly gained a lot of weight.
"I can feel it…" Rudy muttered.
Rudy looked at his hands and raised them to his eye level, and then, he clapped.
CLAP!
The roars of the lightning and the thunderstorm vanished, as though it never existed.
"So that's how you do it…"
Rudy landed in a somewhat razed forest and let out a weary sigh.
'Why is this happening? I was supposed to go home and sleep. I am stuck in a mess. First that dragon and now Erika. She saw me using my powers! What will I tell her?!'
Rudy stretched his hands and legs and uttered, "I need me some clothes."
A moment later, leaves and branches from the nearby trees hovered in the air and got mixed with other elements. Within a minute, freshly made clothes were ready for Rudy.
"It looks… weird, but it's still better than roaming around naked," he muttered to himself and wore the clothes.
Just as he was preparing to fly away from the forest, he saw Erika flying in the sky in all directions, seemingly looking for Rudy.
Rudy moved his hands to his mouth and shouted, "I am here!"
Erika stopped after hearing Rudy's voice, but she was still struggling to find him. So Rudy flew to her and shrugged his shoulders.
"You don't have a scanner equipped with the suit?" he asked with a curious look on his face.
Finally, Erika removed her helmet and revealed her face to Rudy.
"It got damaged after I was hit by lightning." Erika squinted her eyes and continued, "Also, how did you know it was me under the suit? This is a prototype! And when did you enter the tower to gain such powers?! Have you been lying to me this whole time?!"
"Uhh… can we talk somewhere else? I am extremely tired."
