Chapter 80: Crimson Slaughterer [1]
Unlike when he first transformed after gaining the demon bloodline from Ivor in that mountain, in which he barely survived. This time, he was fully conscious and awake and very much in control of his own mind, thoughts, as well as feelings.
Axel’s expression was calm and collected; his face was not filled with uncontrollable rage, as it should be. Rather, after a long time, there was an understanding gaze hidden deep in his eyes, it’s not that his rage had disappeared, rather, it was hidden and well controlled.
He did not let his emotions control him anymore, rather he would be the one to control the emotions and use them to his benefit. And that’s just what he did, enveloping the entire forest in his killing intent filled with purpose, he took control of the entire terrain. Floating high in the midst of raging tornado of red clouds, his gaze pierced down towards his master Cedric Stormscribe. 𝚗ovp𝚞b.𝚌om
Cedric met his condescending gaze with a frown, he did not like the turn of events in the slightest, for one the otherworlder, seem to be back in control of his emotions, when abruptly his true awareness came back and all the revelation of betrayal together should break his mind, which is the reason Cedric revealed everything so dramatically.
But that seem to have backfired, but there was rarely anything he could do about it, that was calculated risk he was willing to take, for which he went to such great lengths, at manipulating Axel from the shadows from the very start.
When the gazes of the both parties met, the world went quiet, with a thunderous boom Axel disappeared from his position, appearing right in front of his master, he punched down with all his might.
Boooooooooooooooooom!!!
A terrifying shockwave spread out as a result of a powerful explosion that shook the entirety of the forest. Cedric was flown away from the impact, but remained unharmed, his multiple defensive artifacts were destroyed at once. Cedric brought out more artifacts, each of different kind and types.
Explosions occurred one after another, and the pseudo domain created by Axel continuously suppressed all the efforts and actions of his enemy to some extent. In response to Cedric bringing out hundreds of artifacts, Axel chuckled and said,
"I think you would want to bring out all of your toys, master."
Cedric remained expressionless as he said, "I will be the judge of that."
Axel chuckled at that response and brought out the 4-rune sword he first used in the competition. Condensing his killing intent into liquid form, then empowering the sword with his crystalline mana for the first time, he did not know just how much power would be generated in that insane charge of power.
Thousands of arcs of red lightning flashed from the sword, the sword itself vibrated in excitement, thunder flashed in the dark clouds above, the power emanating from the sword was so great that, all the air particles that came in contact with the red lightning was being turned into plasmic state, as the thunder cackled continuously.
Showing his white teeth, Axel swung his sword, and a large wave of incredibly powerful lightning shot out from his sword right towards Cedric, destroying everything in its path. The red lightning charged with his liquid killing intent barged onto the artifacts of his master and destroyed them one after another.
Looking at which Cedric frowned, something that Axel did not miss, he stated condescendingly, "I know you have prepared counters for me, but my mana is the most unique and potent in this world. All schemes are useless against absolute power."
Cedric looked Axel in the eye, and started bringing out more and more artifacts, the number’s continued to increase, unlike Axel, whose all artifacts mostly had the shape of a sword, Cedric’s artifacts were filled with verities, the number’s only stopped increasing after the number of artifacts were in hundreds thousands.
Cedric declared, "Now, this time, you better bring out all of the artifacts."
Axel, letting out a small smile, did not bring out any more artifacts; rather, his clothes and all accessory-type artifacts glowed, and the various runic symbols and patterns glowed in a golden hue. He accessed all 4 of his polygon circles, made of the 24 basic runes and the 5th polygon circle made of 12 extended runes, the latter on top of the previous one, while still being connected to each, all together forming a highly advanced and complicated runic system.
Unlike the normal runecasters, he did not need to create an external runic matrix; his circles themselves were, in a sense, his runic matrix, because of the extra connections he made using the meditation technique. Using all of that accumulation and power, including the crystal mana as well as his liquified bloodlust and the buff made by the pseudo domain.
Raising the sword above his head, with a mighty vertical downward slash, all that power shot out, as a massive arc of red lightning discharged, which even sizzled his own skin,
ZZZ–CRRRRAACK–ZZZ!

Cedric did not wait like a lamb waiting for slaughter, sensing the immense power of the attack, he also used his trump card as a peak 7th circle runecaster. As they are able to speak in Runic Speech, they could directly speak the runes, and they would simply take form. In fact, it was a wonder in itself that Axel, being a mere peak 4th circle being, could force his master into a corner somehow.
Cedric spoke powerfully, "VOID"
The moment he did so, the entire world went still for a moment, as if all the violence and power going all around have been rendered immobile, he basically used the concept of void to turn the surroundings into their neutral state. But that was hardy enough to stop Axel’s full powered attack empowered by almost of all of his existence and the entirety of his rage.
So, Cedric stated again, "VOID"
But this time, he used the concept of void on the pseudo domain itself, and the domain, with some minor struggle, ended up breaking apart in the end. Both of these attacks, to a large extent weakened the power of that lightning.
But in that fraction of a second, he could not use the Runic Speech anymore, it looked like a heavenly punishment was sent by a deity above, the thunder was being hammered into Cedric as the 20-meter-wide red lightning arc fell upon Cedric, but his artifacts held strong.
But that was another grave mistake of his, as he focused on defending against that attack, bringing out more and more artifacts to attack, but for some reason, all of his artifacts were destroyed one after another. The damn runic eyes....was the reason, he thought.
