Shen Roujia couldn’t help but look up at a nearby window. The window still had remnants of paper clinging to it, slightly discolored and faded, almost as if...
Her eyes widened, and she quickly reached out to peel away the lower part of the window.
It turned out that the entire interior bore signs of scorching, but the exterior had been deliberately repainted and aged. The window paper, however, was clearly new and had been replaced not too long ago.
Shen Roujia sighed in exasperation. What were these people thinking? If they wanted to destroy evidence, why didn’t they do it properly? What was the point of only fixing the outside while leaving the inside in such disarray?
“These fools have handed us all the evidence on a silver platter,” Shen Roujia muttered, shaking her head in disbelief.
“As long as we remain discreet, we can completely outmaneuver them.”
Tu Lie scratched his head, clearly puzzled. “What?” 𝘯𝘰𝑣𝘱𝑢𝘣.𝑐𝑜𝑚
Shen Roujia, with a satisfied grin, turned to Tu Lie and said, “We’re done here. Let’s go home for dinner.”
“Mission accomplished!”
Tu Lie, still baffled, followed Shen Roujia out of the house.
“What about the little orchids? Do you still want them?”
Shen Roujia paused, then glanced back at the little orchids. “Let’s send a message to the Divine Doctor’s Valley and have them take these for further research.”
Tu Lie nodded in agreement. “Alright.”
Shen Roujia didn’t think she was particularly clever, but the incompetence of these people made her feel as though her intelligence was being underestimated.
It was clear that these members of the main family were scatterbrained and irrelevant to the plot. The author probably hadn’t given them any significant background or purpose.
