Just as Rain had expected, Roan, even though he was completely focused, he couldn't respond to his sudden and different movements. He couldn't respond to a type of attack froma fighting style he had never seen before.
"The only problem is… what do I do from here?" Rain thought.
Rain saw some guys practicing that martial art when he was in the gym. Still, he always thought that it was too dance-like for his tastes… he had to refresh his memory quite a bit before he was able to come up with anything.
Rain dashed in, but after a few steps, he jumped and approached Roan with a falling axe kick. Roan jumped to the side and avoided the hit and then stepped in to punch Rain, but he was surprised to be hit by a sideway sweep kick while Rain was propelling his body with his hands on the floor.
The pain made Roan groan, but it didn't break his focus… he soon charged again. Still, Rain kept repeating those sweep kick motions… they were weirldy fast considering that Rain was using his arms alone to propel them and move and approach. Still, their reach and their target location made it difficult to counter that…
Rain kept approaching with his weird stance and Roan stepped backward several times, until he decided to endure the pain and punch Rain's unprotected face. All of a sudden, Rain changed his posture to a squat position and then moved his head to the side and avoided the punch. He jumped from that stance and tried another headbutt, but Roan jumped backward and avoided the hit.
That gave enough time for Rain to assume a standing position, and they soon used Ginga again. Still, he soon advanced and then used the Inside Crescent Kick. Roan had raised his guard to block a middle-height kick, but soon he was hit in the shoulder… that weird kick caught him off guard, and he was lucky because he reacted on time to move his body when Rain almost hit his head.
At that point in time, Roan couldn't help but step backward and let some sweat fall… his focus was starting to break.
Rain's strategic adaptation to the capoeira style not only baffled Roan but also began to take a toll on his concentration. Although skilled at emptying his mind to engage opponents at his best, Roan found himself facing a challenge he hadn't anticipated. The unorthodox and unpredictable nature of Rain's movements made it difficult for Roan to maintain that focused state for an extended period.
Despite Roan's initial resilience, the continuous onslaught of unfamiliar attacks disrupted his mental focus. The varied and unconventional techniques Rain employed were gradually wearing down Roan's ability to keep his mind clear and focused. The barrage of strange and rapid movements created a mental strain that even Roan's disciplined mindset couldn't withstand indefinitely.
Moreover, the spectators in the arena began to notice the limitations of Rain's capoeira style. While initially effective in catching Roan off guard, the movements seemed somewhat archaic and specific to certain situations. The onlookers started to recognize patterns in Rain's attacks, suggesting that, once familiarized, countering these movements wouldn't be as challenging as it initially appeared.
"I guess I need to end this as soon as possible…" Rain thought. "This should do the trick, and my arms need some time to rest. Moreover, kicks are three times stronger than punches."
Rain charged in again and, jumped, and started with another axe kick. This time, Roan blocked the attack and pushed the leg away to start his counter… However, Rain stopped his fall with his hands and then moved out by using his hands with a handstand.
Roan hesitated once more and Rain used that chance to advance from that stance… while he started slow, Rain's kicks with his heels were heavy and soon they started to gain momentum and break Roan's guard. When he got impatient and prepared to target Rain's exposed back, Rain jumped using his arms and then spun in the air diagonally a bunch of times.
The position of his arms and legs changed so many times that Roan had no idea where the attack would come from… in the end, he was kicked on his right side. The pain made him flinch, and then Rain landed and followed with a quick Inside Crescent Kick.
Roan had seen that attack, so he not only blocked it with his right arm but also grabbed Rain's leg. Still, Rain had enough time to jump with his other feet and then quickly kick the stomach and chest of Roan. That being said, the grip on his leg didn't weaken…
"This is starting to get dangerous…" Rain thought.
Roan pulled Rain's body upward and then tried to slam him against the ground, but Rain stopped the fall with his hands. At the same time, he attacked Roan with a barrage of kicks aimed at his chin… it was the only thing he could do to free himself, but Roan protected himself with his other arm. 𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒑𝒖𝒃.𝙘𝙤𝒎
Realizing the increasing danger, Rain found himself caught in a difficult situation. Roan, capitalizing on his hold, initiated a forceful series of slams against the ground with all his might. Rain, resilient but not impervious, countered each fall by stopping his descent with his hands. The impacts, however, were taking their toll, and both combatants began to feel the accumulating strain.
The battle had transitioned into a test of endurance. Rain's ability to withstand Roan's powerful assaults, combined with the physical toll of the continuous falls, became a critical factor. Each slam against the ground added to the overall damage, turning the clash between father and son into a grueling contest of strength and stamina…
"Well… since it is like this…" Rain thought.
During the next fall, Rain made up his mind, and he didn't stop it with the palm of his hands. He opened them and made his fingers clash against the floor… they actually pierced the arena and he decided to use that…
